  1. Man besides Lee, the Twins minor league prospect is sad.
  2. I highly doubt they would get anything of value for Kepler and Pagan, let alone a major league relief pitcher.
  3. I see little to no chance of this happening unless ownership agrees and guarantees this FO their job. (Huge mistake). They already did the trade away players for prospects and all it has gotten is two playoff sweeps and the last two terrible years and what is happening this year. I have little to no faith in this front office to rebuild again, and besides Polanco who are they going to trade? Gallo, Thielbar, Stewart and Gray? And in reality they can't take guys back in trades that require 40 man roster spots. This FO doesn't deserve another tear down with the trades and money they have spent. (By the way I agreed with the Correa signing and the Pablo and Gray trades, not the Gallo or Solano signings) This FO is stuck between a rock and a hard space, not really good enough (and probably don't have the prospects) to go out and improve this team, but not bad enough and don't have the players to trade and rebuild, unless they are going to give up on Larnach and Miranda) What they need to do is DFA Kepler and fire Rocco and hope this shakes up Polanco, Correa and Buxton to get back to being themselves and the new faces find something in Larnach and Miranda to get back on schedule. This acceptance of mediocrity is pathetic, sickening and all the other adjectives.
  4. The Odo trade was good, and I agree on the not trading Kepler comment.
  5. Isn't that what they have done this year? Miranda, Larnach, AK, Lewis, Julien and Wallner a little bit, I get the swap Wallner in for Kepler but where are other prospects going to play? Trade Correa (Impossible)? Trade Polanco (not likely)? There are no other offensive prospects on the 40 man and in reality the only other one worth mentioning is Lee. Correa being terrible and this misguided idea of having Buxton as the everyday DH has truly limited this team and that is on the FO.
  6. All depends on the player, of course you will have to overpay this early but if you are trying to win that comes with a cost. Somebody like Grichuk shouldn't cost much. But in all reality what position would the Twins be looking? They are so medicore everywhere, but also have prospects or "young" players everywhere and they seem to be mediocre as well. The bullpen seems like a good spot but they have prospects taking up 40 man spots there as well. It seems like they would need to trade from there to get anybody else. Alcala, Balazovic, Canterino, Headrick, Henrquez, Sands, Winder, SWR.
  7. This was one of the most embarrassing games played by the Twins offensively that I have ever seen. Shawn Armstrong just off the 60 day DL, Criswell appeared in 7 big leagues games (over 3 years),Kelly rookie,Stephenson, twice traded and once claimed off waivers and was his 3 game as a Ray, Poche had allowed 29 base runners in 21 innings. Just want to say I agree with Wallner over Kepler, lets be clear the only thing that changes is we don't have to complain about Kepler, Wallner is not the answer to what ales the Twins. Something needs to happen to this team and I think the easiest thing to do is fire Rocco (I am not a fan of his, and don't believe he is the biggest or even one of the biggest problems this year) but something needs to be done to shake up this team and that is always the easiest. If the Twin's piss this season away after the last two, good luck with getting people to come to down to Target field next year.
  8. I highly doubt this FO thinks of it self as sellers after the last two years and they trades they made, and players they signed. Being just sellers would be them admitting failure and I don't see that happening. I could see them selling a bit and buying a bit. But after they last two years and no playoff wins, selling this year might be the kiss of death for them.
  9. It would have taken Lewis or Lee and another couple top prospects (if Miami would have even done that) and I highly doubt adding Kepler would have reduced the prospects required.
  10. meh? commodity? if that was true you would think would have had an abundance of them the last few years, and yet they haven't. Is he an elite pitcher? no, if he was it would have cost more than Arraez. But he has went out against the NYY, SD and Tampa for 6 plus innings and shut them down.
  11. Well if they don't win a playoff game this year, I sure hope it is.
  12. I will go out on a limb and say neither of these two ever make an all star game.
  13. Lopez has pitched 71.1 innings while not great, some have been, where would those innings come from without him? I agree with @gunnarthorthis was done because in 6 years here this FO didn't produce the promised pipeline. Going into this year Ryan was the only starter "developed" and that is if you believe they developed him and didn't just trade for a major league ready pitcher developed by the Rays. In the 7th year Ober and Varland look like two guys that were developed and added to the rotation. Still going into next year it would be Ryan, Varland and Ober, with the possibility of re-signing Gray, that is still one starter short with none in the pipeline to fill in. So while it sucks losing Arraez, it was him or Lewis that was going to need to be traded to fill the rotation.
  14. I hope so, he was up at 23 and that is fairly young for a catcher, he will probably competing with Perez, Rutschman, Heim, and Raleigh the next years.
  15. If it was possible to get a prospect in any teams top 20 for Kepler, I am pretty sure Kepler would be gone.
  16. I didn't have high expectations for quite a few players, so when ranking players some might seem too high for others.
  17. What I learned was having a deep minor league system allows you to go get players you need. The Twins are having a tough time with the 40 man imagine having to figure it out with the some the guys they traded away.
  18. May stats 25.1 innings - 3.55 ERA - Sonny (5 starts) 32.1 innings - 1.95 ERA - Jon Gray (5 starts) 33 innings 2.73 ERA - Ryan (6 starts) 37,2 innings - .96 ERA Eovaldi (5 starts) I am not sure Sonny was even a consideration for pitcher of the month (for that matter Joe Ryan either) Not sure have Gray won it over his teammate Eovaldi
  19. I really hope it is settled (fingers crossed), Lewis has all of 65 major league at bats so I don't want to get ahead of my self. I mean there is a chance he slumps, gets sent down and Miranda come up and plays awesome. But man wouldn't it be nice to actually have another position locked down.
  20. Didn't he last pitch for the Twins at age 27 in 2017, then left for Japan and spend how many years in the minors before making it back to the majors at age 33. I don't really think we can hold that against the Twins. Me personally I am not a fan of holding it against any team when older relief pitchers do well for other teams. At some point any and all teams have to give up on pitcher (by give up I mean not have them on the 40 man) and this allows them to move to another team when they might have a better chance to get succeed.
  21. I must have missed your list, since it is to critic others without having a list yourself. Those are my biggest disappointments, sure Jax, Lopez, Gordon or others may be higher for others but my expectations for those probably weren't as high as others.
  22. So he should be better going forward, doesn't take away from my opinion that he would be better than he has been so far. if you expectation for him was a run of 5.2 - 6 ER 5.2 - 4ER 6 - 2ER 4.2 - 5 ER and two other games with 5ER and 6ER That's great, Mine was his first 4 starts and 7th and 8th start.
  23. He has given up more earned runs in 12 starts and 71.1 innings than he did in 2021 in 20 starts and 102.2 innings. I still like him and think it was a good trade, but never did I expects an 4.54 ERA, he hasn't been terrible like Correa but I had pretty high expectations for him. Like what Ryan and Gray have been doing
  24. 1 and 1A are Correa and Buxton if you would have told me they would both have played 50 and has an OPS of .671 and .771 I wouldn't have believed you. 3. Pablo Lopez, in no scenario did I see him having an ERA above 4.5 4 and 4A Larnach and Miranda, didn't have high expectations for them but higher than they performed. Just about everybody else has played about how I would have expected (maybe Lopez deserves to be on this list next) or a tid bit above or below,, except Ryan he has exceeded all my expectations.
