    I was at the game tonight and came down to watch my veteran neighbor,raise the flag during national anthem .... The twins players had some fireworks , 3 solo Homer's were just enough to pull this game out ... The game was relaxing but dragged so it seems , again to many strikeouts and to many runners left on base , got to have some clutch hitting , bases loaded and 2 outs and Castro strikes out for 3rd out , same old stuff different day .... Fireworks after the game were good but the Twins managing a win was better ...

    I usually don't follow the lead but I'll go along with why just 5 , we have 26 players on the roster and it should be a team effort ,,, they aren't playing in harmony ... You would think they couldn't get any worse but nothing really supports them getting any better , 52 games left , first 110 games and alot of the games were hard to watch ....

    Bartolo Colon was very entertaining on the mound , probably off the field as well ... I remember his facial expressions everytime he got the ball back to pitch , he'd walk a circle , look up and roll his eyes some and was probably saying ... I'm 44 years old and can't believe I'm still pitching in the major leagues ... He was big sexy and added a spice of life to the Twins that year ...

    Well said , Terry Ryan was a class act and intelligent baseball man and I too had respect for him ... Remember he turned down the Toronto job for a bigger pay day to stay with the team .... I'm sure the current FO office is smart also but not in the same way ...

    Good thought for a good guy but I wouldn't want to take anymore at bats away from our younger guys ... Let our future show us they belong ....

    I once said the same thing about berrios one year that he was wearing down and needed rest , but we didn't have the luxury in starters like we do now ... They give Buxton and Correa days off , no reason not to give a pitcher some rest too ...

    Finally some promotions ... Lee to triple A , I look forward to seeing more doubles from him as he leads all Twins organizations in doubles ,,, we need double hitters that finds the gaps , please don't mess with his swing , if power comes , power will come with him finding it ... Lots more promoted , wonder who gets designated , more to follow tomorrow I presume ...

    I didn't read the article but wanted to congratulate Keuchel for his perseverance on sticking with the game , hope he comes through with some good starts , we need a lefthander in the rotation ... He put up good numbers in AAA and let's hope it carries over , we need a pitcher not a belly itcher ... How long has ryan been dealing with the groin injury ??? , just curious since they never report anything to the media or fans ... I'll go read the article now

    High praise for Mauer , congratulations Joe on Twins hall of fame induction ... However I don't think he will be a first ballot honoree in the HOF voting , it will take a few years to climb the ladder ... He was a good hitting catcher with 3 batting titles, gold glove catcher and mvp for his career , but the injuries , bi lateral leg thing and concussions hurt his career numbers , first basemen he should have won 1 gold glove but thats the way it goes ... If he had the personality and leadership that Puckett had for the game , he would be a no doubt first ballot honoree .... That's my story and I'm sticking to it ....

    I agree that Julien had a good month of production and hope he can keep producing at the rate he is going ... I would have had kiriloff second though over Jeffers due to Jeffers only had 45 plate appearances even though kiriloff slowed due to injury , kiriloff shows good production when healthy ... Keep it going Twins , the pressure is off for the division title as Cleveland and others in the central were sellers ...

    I sure like doubles and Lee is leading the organization with 31 , hopefully he'll finish with 45 .... Has the minor leagues changed , they used to be over in early September , but quotes I've read think they Play to the end of September ...

    I'm okay with a collapse , I won't like it but if that what it takes ownership to wake up and see this isn't acceptable baseball for the Twins fans , then so be it ... Time for this FO and coaches to go , they just don't have the skills to operate a roster that have quality skills , 2 plus years of embarrassing baseball is not acceptable , WE ARE NOT GOiNG IN THE RiGHT DIRECTION ...., but for what , to lose in the playoffs ... yes we could and should win the division Need new quality baseball minds to run this team with a goal set to win more than just the division title ... We are not contenders , stop being pretenders ...

    I agree , my thought was since Cleveland and the rest of the central selling we could win the division with youth and trade away some veterans on expiring contracts ... 1 pitcher , an outfielder and reset for next year With the return .,. If the FO are pretenders we will win in the playoffs with this constructed roster , they are mistaken unless our goid starting pitchering each throws a shutout , we will have a hard time scoring runs in the playoffs .

    Yes I hope there is some excitement from this team to finish the season , maybe a 10 plus winning streaks would help ... To stand pat ... Cleveland sold off pitcher and first basemen so the FO probably decided to stand pat and not trade for help cause we should win the division easily with a 500 record ... Heck we could have traded 1 of gray or maeda ( pitching ) , Keplerfor something as his value has grown of late and dfa Gallo and still win the division with our younger players , the trades would have helped us reset for 2024 and beyond , but they stood pat when they should have traded for prospects because we can win the division with what we got but are going nowhere in the playoff unless we turn into the 2007 Colorado rockies and win 11 games in a row to end season and then sweep the nls /nlcs and get to the world series , and then lose in 4 games to Boston ... We need angels in the outfield ...

    The Twins have been losers for the last 3 seasons , get a grip on it , for some reason you think Kepler should stay , if it wasn't for his defense he wouldn't be here , his streaky hitting has hurt the team more than it has helped ... I know Kepler is your favorite player and probably the best rightfielder since Oliva but he just isn't a offensive producer to stay on the team , he'll be gone at the end of the season for sure and you can root for him on another team ... Get use to it ...

    It wouldn't be silly at all to trade 1 of the 2 pitcher's ( gray or maeda ) ... What we traded away last deadline and got nothing in return ( j. Lopez and mahle ) ... 2 expiring contracts it would be okay to try and recapture some talent by trading one or the other .... Twins could still likely win the division but have no chance of winning the world series ...

    It's been a bad baseball season for Twins fans to follow the underperforming lineup ... It could get worse unless the formula for winning changes .... We barely have any leaders on the 26 man roster , we definitely don't have a manager and FO that are leaders ...

    The way maeda has pitched since coming off the injured list I think his value would be higher than gray in a trade ... Thextwins have the option with Gray with a qualifying offer , the Twins will need more value for Gray in a trade than just a compensation pick , would teams give up more for Sonny , I guess we will see by this evening .... I'm in favor of trading one of the two for the future of the Twins ...
