  1. I think this game will be something like 24-20 Vikings.
  2. Is there much history of success in taking 30 year old relievers and making them starters? It seems to me that the numbers do not favor this sort of move. I personlly think this would be a mistake.
  3. That's it for me...I can't be mad at the season but this feels like the eleventieth season in a row where I go: "Yeah, but the season is @%*$ing fantastic if you just don't lay those two eggs in winnable games...." Give me those Rutgers and UNC games and I'm singing praises. We're always just a tad short of what could have been.
  4. Wins matter more than margins, let's hope the Chiefs are using up all their good fortune with these regular season wins.
  5. When someone tries what you tried in the second post in this thread and can't own how it ages, then we're admitting the conversation can't be had fairly. I'm not interested in that, thank you.
  6. So you tried to sideways dunk on the Vikings by talking up the Lions for the first hald, but when they look bad and barely win you then move the goalposts? Cool.
  7. When you don't apply your arguments fairly, it's fair to wonder how serious to take them.
  8. I watched them barely win at home, which according to you makes them pretenders. Those defensive injuries cause them to stop scoring too?
  9. This didnt age well. Did we perhaps realize that expecting weekly blowouts in a league where games are almost always tight is an unfair ask? I mean...short of ridiculous coaching incompetence, they were about to go to OT at home versus the Bears and blow the game. NFL games are close. Wins matter more than margins.
  10. Sure, I want the title too. I've concluded we have the coach to get us there. That is one of the two essential pieces you need. (QB is TBD at this point) So it's been a wildly successful, fun season and we know we have a Super Bowl caliber coach. Considering our odds of winning a SB with Sam Darnold as our QB were zero in August and remain zero today, why sweat the small stuff? Look at the big picture: we are closer to where we need to be. With a crap ton of room to add free agents and a QB to hitch our wagon to next year. It may all topple down, but there is so much good to relish in rather than grousing that our thrice failed QB and a roster still rebuilding from the last FO isn't Super Bowl bound. That expectation just doesn't comport with reality IMO.
  11. It's fair to say they've raised expectations, but I still think you can keep some perspective on it too. I would expect them to beat the Seahawks or Falcons. I'm not expecting a Super Bowl. And if they win 12 and a playoff game, the only thing that can be concluded is that it was a wildly successful season...no?
  12. Yup, that would be hard for any team. I don't put us above Philly or Baltimore. I would have us in the mix as the 6-10 range of teams. Philly's defense is playing at an elite level and Baltimore's talent is just on another level.
  13. In the NFC you mean right? We're not as good as Detroit and Philly. We're in the same mix as Green Bay. We're a good team who has won against good teams and avoided any meltdowns. We're not a Super Bowl contender IMO but the fact we're even close is crazy.
  14. I appreciate that you really want that optimism and I agree that the NFC is weak, but I don't see this team with enough talent to make that leap. They're a pretty good team, a much better one than I expected given what I saw as weaknesses at defensive line and QB, but they're not a real contender.
  15. The very fact you think they could conceivably make the Super Bowl here at Thanksgiving would've made past Aggies roll on the floor with laughter had I said it in August. It's always good to be critical and want better. It's also always good to remember context.
  16. This is awesome! Look...this team won't win the Super Bowl. It may not even win on the road in the playoffs despite their record. Anyone who thought 10 quarters in that this was a Super Bowl team should bottle whatever they were high on. (Or consider that maybe they should stop moving the goal posts to justify an unjustifiable position) This team was largely thought to be a 5 or 6 win team. A contender for a top 10 pick. Instead....they won three games in a row on the road. They're 9-2 with one totally understandable loss (in a tight game with the NFL's best team) and a disappointing loss on the road where they were in it even while playing pretty poorly. How is anyone grousing? Enjoy the fun football we're watching and enjoy the fact that this team had leaders in position that are turning out a 9-2 year with a team still transitioning to their (hopeful) best form.
  17. It pained me to type it.
  18. I thought Sirianni was one step away from being fired, man was I wrong. It's not their offense....that defense is a load. Davis and Carter are scary inside and their DBs can cover. This Eagles team could beat Detroit.
  19. Well....it wasn't pretty....but we escaped Chicago.
  20. You can't tell me this team didn't need Hockenson back. He's been enormous in the second half.
  21. Cold blooded throw there to get the first.
  22. You can't hang on to the ball that long Darnold, good lord.
  23. Good question. That return really looks huge now too.
  24. C'mon Flo, you can't give them 20 yards there, make them dink and dunk.
  25. Not those of us that bet the moneyline!
