  1. Well....we really don't have a lot of picks to deal. The Vikings should be looking for low-key adds. This was never "the year", 5-0 or not shouldn't change the way the front office behaves.
  2. Crazy slate of games today - upsets galore, games going in completely unexpected directions, it's been wild. The Lions are the class of the league. The playoffs are going to end up with 14 really evenly matched teams at this rate.
  3. Agreed. I'm more on the Calaias Campbell wagon.
  4. The pass rush was covering up holes in coverage. Tonight the rushers were non existent other than Greenard. This is the kind of game that justifies a trade.
  5. Well, that ending fits.
  6. Pass rush is no showing tonight.
  7. Our pass rush needs to fare better against a subpar OL. Only Greenard has any juice today.
  8. This should be a "get right" game for the offense. Their secondary is awful. I think 31-17 sort of game with a Vikings win.
  9. Alec Lewis had an article where he had trade suggestions. I actually really like the Calais Campbell suggestion. He's one of the most underrated defensive players of the last 15 years. Dude can still beast his way into the backfield too. Best part is that I think you can get him for a 5th. I would love to see them upgrade RG too but I just don't see it happening now. They're going to have to that in FA.
  10. I'm not sure Hopkins is even that guy for the record. But your overall point is right, mid-season shopping does seem to be heavily discounted.
  11. Well, it's pretty accurate as you acknowledge later. And of course it reflects a better media situation for those other leagues...that's sorta the point? I'm all for the "eat the rich", but put that aside. This media setup where the Dodgers have a 2:1 or 3:1 advantage (or MUCH more now that the RSNs are dying) versus their competition isn't good for the game. Players should get more of the pie AND we should call for the media pie to be shared more equally. You want to make extra money in your market? Sell more tickets. More beer. More gear. Broadcasts of the game shouldn't be causing massive inequity. That's just plain dumb.
  12. Sharing 48% of 150 or 200M is still a massive advantage. I don't understand what your point is? It's clearly a different issue for baseball and the disparity is obviously stark. https://crossscreen.media/state-of-the-screens/local-tv-and-the-changing-economics-of-baseball/
  13. 100%. Do a quick hitter to JJ.
  14. Off tackle (which is the LBers) seems to have been exposed. I think Cashman's absence showed too. That TD likely never happens with him on the field.
  15. The run D has been one of the best in the league. Not sure how given how little talent we have with their hand in the ground, but they got beat yesterday. (Although, to my eye, mostly off tackle)
  16. Speaking of which...that last series before the hail mary: 1st Down - Rip off a run up the middle that Jones single handedily makes into a 5 yard gain. Good call. 2nd Down - A sweep to the near boundary? They're lucky the ref called that in play and kept the clock running. That play call makes zero sense. Zero. Pound it up the middle for another couple yards and make 3rd easier. 3rd Down - It's only 4 yards. Why are we running a layered set of flood routes? Why is no one doing a quick whip route down the middle. A even a quick out or a slant? That was a long developing, low odds play.
  17. At the end of the day....the Lions running game beat our run defense. That was the strength on strength matchup to decide the game. That said..you convert that 2 pointer or you make that 3rd and 4...and we walk out winners on a day we didn't play a great game. One thing KOC needs to work on his his short yardage play calling. I'm not inspired by it given the wealth of options we have.
  18. Honestly...they just needed someone under the age of 40. This issue has been glaringly obvious to anyone who doesn't use velcro on their remote control or spent half their lives with rotary phones.
  19. This is a reflection on the antiquated thinking at the league on media. This slow moving trainwreck has given MLB many opportunities to change course. Here are but a few canaries in the coal mine: 1. Massive declines in satellite viewers 2. Massive increases in cord cutting (especially in demos that advertisers prefer) 3. Increased streaming options 4. The NHL's previous broadcasting mistake and subsequent change later. 5. The NBA's bidding war for broadcasting as a good way to do things. Ditto NFL. 6. Cable and streaming ala carte options becoming common. 7. Sinclair only had sports because FOX saw the writing on the wall and got out in 2019. I feel like that last one says it all. This wasn't a new issue, it was completely foreseeable. Smart people at Fox Sports broke the emergency glass before their profits dried up and found a sucker. The Twins, much like MLB, kept preferring the short term gravy train over preparing for the looming disaster on the horizon.
  20. I'm just some schmo and I've been yelling about it for almost a decade. This really wasn't hard to see coming.
  21. They'll have to since they have no picks basically.
  22. We shouldn't be looking at this as Castro or Martin, but more in terms of how we can add more guys like them to our lineup. And let them run!
  23. I agree with the point about Epenesa - that roughing call was ridiculous. I don't know how anyone can defend it. I'm ok with refs throwing as many flags as the play dictates, but if we start calling that kind of a sack "roughing"....we might as well give up on the sport. (The Kinlaw one was stupid too)
