  1. It's quite possible the Niners blow the whole thing up. They may have a high pick and prefer to draft their next QB than commit big money to Purdy. If I was their GM....that's exactly what I'd do. Purdy isn't worth the commitment IMO.
  2. That game is one of those that you can't call a great win, but it's nice to see the fight the team can muster.
  3. Not a great win, but a gutty one.
  4. Jones blows redemption chance on perfect throw.
  5. They seem to have reschemed the blitz pickup. Now hit them quick and dont hold on to the ball.
  6. They woke up. Darnold looking underneath finally.
  7. They look totally out of sorts. Still time, but they are sleepwalking.
  8. Ah crap....bad Darnold today.
  9. They are trying to do the contain rush. Not a strategy I love.
  10. I don't think either of those sacks is on the OL. Those were overload blitzes....it's on the QB to read and throw the quick route. Darnold holds the ball too long, too often.
  11. That blitz came play side....what was Darnold looking at?
  12. Romo has been ridiculous.
  13. Yeah, we need to get Jefferson going and Darnold needs to recognize that blitz coming. Defense is playing mostly well other than the first couple runs.
  14. I think this game will be something like 24-20 Vikings.
  15. Is there much history of success in taking 30 year old relievers and making them starters? It seems to me that the numbers do not favor this sort of move. I personlly think this would be a mistake.
  16. That's it for me...I can't be mad at the season but this feels like the eleventieth season in a row where I go: "Yeah, but the season is @%*$ing fantastic if you just don't lay those two eggs in winnable games...." Give me those Rutgers and UNC games and I'm singing praises. We're always just a tad short of what could have been.
  17. Wins matter more than margins, let's hope the Chiefs are using up all their good fortune with these regular season wins.
  18. When someone tries what you tried in the second post in this thread and can't own how it ages, then we're admitting the conversation can't be had fairly. I'm not interested in that, thank you.
  19. So you tried to sideways dunk on the Vikings by talking up the Lions for the first hald, but when they look bad and barely win you then move the goalposts? Cool.
  20. When you don't apply your arguments fairly, it's fair to wonder how serious to take them.
  21. I watched them barely win at home, which according to you makes them pretenders. Those defensive injuries cause them to stop scoring too?
  22. This didnt age well. Did we perhaps realize that expecting weekly blowouts in a league where games are almost always tight is an unfair ask? I mean...short of ridiculous coaching incompetence, they were about to go to OT at home versus the Bears and blow the game. NFL games are close. Wins matter more than margins.
  23. Sure, I want the title too. I've concluded we have the coach to get us there. That is one of the two essential pieces you need. (QB is TBD at this point) So it's been a wildly successful, fun season and we know we have a Super Bowl caliber coach. Considering our odds of winning a SB with Sam Darnold as our QB were zero in August and remain zero today, why sweat the small stuff? Look at the big picture: we are closer to where we need to be. With a crap ton of room to add free agents and a QB to hitch our wagon to next year. It may all topple down, but there is so much good to relish in rather than grousing that our thrice failed QB and a roster still rebuilding from the last FO isn't Super Bowl bound. That expectation just doesn't comport with reality IMO.
  24. It's fair to say they've raised expectations, but I still think you can keep some perspective on it too. I would expect them to beat the Seahawks or Falcons. I'm not expecting a Super Bowl. And if they win 12 and a playoff game, the only thing that can be concluded is that it was a wildly successful season...no?
  25. Yup, that would be hard for any team. I don't put us above Philly or Baltimore. I would have us in the mix as the 6-10 range of teams. Philly's defense is playing at an elite level and Baltimore's talent is just on another level.
