  1. I see what they like about Golday - athletic freak, former DE with pass rush ability, incredible talent if he is free to make plays. LBs for Flores need his skillset. I bet we look back favorably on this pick.
  2. It's ok but I don't love the deal. I'm high on Greenard.
  3. Traded to Carolina.
  4. Cisse, McCoy are both there. Maybe Stowers? I like EMW or Cisse.
  5. Also...I say all that with full acknowledgement that Banks might end up being an absolute monster. He comps to a guy like Albert Haynesworth - who was like a 100 in Madden for 3-4 years and an absolute game wrecker. But repeated foot injuries? You had the option to trade down.
  6. 100%. I can't imagine Philly wasn't willing to offer the same deal for 18 that they did for 20. Adding a 4th was a no-brainer if that was the guy you wanted. KAM was a major part of the problem, but we need to hire someone who can start getting the draft process right.
  7. Simpson still holds that crown probably but ours is pretty bad. I'd have happily taken that Philly offer for 18.
  8. Welp....they basically got a free shot at a franchise QB thanks to the Falcons being dumb.
  9. Skattebo isn't your typical bruiser though. He's also dangerous in the passing game and can break big runs. He's not Love, but for a late 3rd? We'd feel so much better about our RB room even if it was Mason and Skattebo.
  10. I think people saw a few guys- Klubnik being another and Allar - as legit, clear QB1 types. You can go back and look at early mocks from a year ago and they talk glowingly of guys that are now in the 4/5th round range.
  11. Last year was the year for a RB. You know....like Skattebo instead of some gunner on special teams.
  12. There are a lot of solid guys I like. I think having picks inside the top 100 is a benefit so if they deal back I feel pretty good about bringing in some good players late 1/into the 2nd. But this class is also so devoid of top end talent that **** could go sideways fast.
  13. Lost in all the "this class is bad, but next year will be awesome!" is Nuss was thought of as a top guy at this time. A lot can happen in a year.
  14. There's one I did for the week of the draft. I really hope this team trades back.
  15. Seems to me that the Padres probably lost money over those seasons. The ROI seems more than worth it. I do think more billionaires in California to create a bidding war is a factor. But the biggest factor is that this team has a rabid fan base that produces revenues and engagement. Those are factors that create long term value. The Pohlads sabotaged that.
  16. Yeah, people forget that a bad team last year won a ton of games early too. It didn't make them not bad. This defense will keep this team from being anything approaching "good" by any sane definition.
  17. Cincy feels so desperate.
  18. I like this Luke Keaschall fella. It may be time to find him a real defensive home sooner rather than later, I don't think he can stick at 2B.
  19. Austin Martin is starting to look like a player.
  20. I'm really hoping for a trade down. I think we could deal back 10ish slots, still get a good player, and pick up a chance at another good player in the 70-90 range.
  21. I love the discussion on this. I'm curious to see where many of these threads wind up. It is really refreshing to be talking like this about major league baseball again! That said.....tell these bozos there are no challenges in the first three innings unless there is an exceptional situation the bench communicates about. Watching some of these dopes blow a challenge on ball two in the first is a new sort of pain I'm not ready for.
  22. I'm really happy to see the results from Taj so far. My issues with the trade deadline were not centered on who they traded (other than Varland. That will never make sense to me) but by the type of return they focused on. I wanted athletic position players at positions of need. (1B, LF, 3B, CF, SS) Instead we got a bunch of seemingly same-ish guys that we already have: limited profile as a regular, left handed corner guys, quad A types, or players a long ways off. The deadline might prove really fruitful, I wish it seemed less forced and more surgical to build around the guys on their way up. But who knows? Maybe Keaschall, Jenkins, Culpepper, E-Rod will be happy to have a rotation loaded with Abel, Taj, and Rojas.
  23. How bad is the rest of the AL that this lineup is 2nd in the league in runs scored? I'm floored by that.
