  1. Well unless the Twins are going to go out and make a Splash. Trading for or grabbing a Free Agent they need to stay with what they know. Ar far as whois signing the checks. that could be interesting the Pohlads are Stingy(was going to say Cheap) but unlike pitchers or other fielders good catchers seldom hit the market.
  2. True but the brought him in every other game. No Time Management there. and he was at the End of his Career.
  3. I remember Al Worthington coming in late game and taking over. He in my opinion would be the First Closer.
  4. Royce Lewis would be the most likely 60 day. So taking his spot should be a No Brainer. He will need to go to the Minors to get in shape Depending on how long he is out. By the time he is ready the Twins can move a piece to Triple A St. Paul.
  5. When you consider the owners. anything is possible, any one can see we need legitimate first base help. but they have sat on there hands and done nothing except get rid of players that could make a difference.
  6. Well now that we know what we know. what's going on usually there is a Bunch of doubters griping about spending money, but as of now No real complaints amazing
  7. I remember sitting in the Bleachers watching My All Time Favorite Twin Tony Oliva, But also watching the other players and Rich Reese was a wonderfull first baseman. If anybody remembers the Twins of the Late 60s early 70s they had hitting but some fielding was Questionable, Rich Reese was never Questionabl at First Base.
  8. People I understand the "injury" thing but he has suffered injuries @ 1st base 3rd base and outfield s Injury should not stop them from trying him at 2nd as for everyone else look @ his bat. He comes in and next thing you see is a Homer and that be against Lefties or Righties.
  9. Frankie Montas of the Cincinnati reds is another Cheap arm the Twins looked into him when he was with Oakland. his expiring contract makes him a good pitcher to look into.
  10. Wallner should be up and Farmer gone. We wouldn't miss him and if he is half smart he would go to Triple A and get his swing together and collect a check.

    A Man of Many Gloves

I was lucky enough to be in the Stands and watch the Twins when Tovar became a Twin. My all-ime Favorite is #6 Tony Oliva, But Tovar was something else, he came out and you never knew where he was going to Play but play he did. being Young and dumb I thought he was excellent at second Base.
  12. I remember going to the Twins games @ Met Stadium. my first favorite player was a Pitcher who was among the first, Relievers to come out of the Bull Pen. Then Tony Oliva came on the scene and at once he became my favorite. and until Kirby Puckett stayed my Favorite. But Tony O remains my all Time Favorite.
  13. The Twins should look into Taylor Rogers. If anyone knows him it would be Twins staff. If he has a Major issue pass but if it's a Confidence issue, they can definaitely use a Better than they have pitcher in the Pen.
  14. I'm with the Kumar crew, his medicals aside 19 strike outs is impressive. Plus they could use a good strong arm in the Rotation or Bull pen.
  15. I remember the Twins . I think it was against the Tigers Moving a player to play every position on the Field his last 2 were Catcher and Pitcher. as i remember we won the game.
  16. We played in the alley all of us were from the Same block. since are parents wouldn't let us go across the street. But we got to know each other and enjoy are summers.
  17. I can see Royce Lewis playing in the Outfield. or splitting time at SS, but either way unless he has a Major cool down they need to keep his bat in the lineup.
  18. if the Twins are going to give up any Decent prospects, then. I can see them going after Montas or Castillo. the other two seem like long shots or one season and Dispose
  19. If you're going by Position, then Earl Battey would be the first pic for the Twins, He was tough! and feared by baserunners. But if you are going by Batting Stats. Oliva carried 3 Batting titles. (Silver Slugger) his first was his Rookie Year. as far as Fielding because of the Atrocious conditions he worked under the was Twisting his Ankle and playing through it, as fa as Homeruns Oliva again leads the two.
  20. Twins Mount Rushmore 1961 to present; Killebrew , Carew, Oliva, Blyleven with Pucket coming up short because rushmore only had space for Four, Now I expect a lot of negative feed back but I was in the stands for the Twins first season and was lucky enough to see Carew steal home talk about beating a team mentally that did. I put Oliva ahead of Puckett my best friends son will be pissed because he is a Pucket Mania kinda guy. We me and him went to alot of games sat in Sec.107 to watch Kirby climb the wall and snatch homeruns and Victory back for his team. But all that being said I personally was never happier then Tony getting into the HOF.
  21. I think Gordon will have the Most Impact. on the Twins, He is an excellent player they the Twins need to settle on where he will fit once, he has his Place and gets Comfortable look out. Celestino was hit by nerves, it was to be expected he knew he was in Buxton's spot and could be removed at a Moment's notice. with everyone expecting Buxton like performance w/o getting to know about him and how he does the things he does. it should be expected.

    My Twins HOF vote

What about Al Worthington . He came from Washington when they moved here and became the Twins. at the Time they didn't have Saves. But he came into a lot of games and Saved the day. for him to be over looked is a Disgrace. Lyman Bostock wasn't here very long before going to Boston. they should be pushing for him. and Jim Mudcap Grant is a Travesty.
  23. IF THEY COULD GET A RETURN LIKE THEY GOT WHEN THEY TRADED VIOLA , I COULD SEE TRADING BOTH GARVER AND JEFFERS
  24. PtC Who cares does he allow a lot of HRs does he allow a lot of Base Runners. Those are things to worry about when you are talking 20 + million a year. everything else is too much crap to sift through.
