  1. I ditched all my Lulu Lemons! I hate that commercial.
  2. I think is it with the addition of an outfielders glove. If he hits, he will have a spot but the org needs maximum flexibility to hide the glove based on matchups. I don't expect him to be any better with the glove in the outfield but being able to put him in left with a ground ball pitcher on the mound is almost like DH'ing. Ball will still find him but you're taking that chance wherever he plays. He can still mix in at 1B/3B. Key is that he hits. If he does they can find a place. Minimal chance of trading him this year in a down spot. Maybe they can find someone to pay full price and I would let him go if they get that value. Guys that hit but can't catch are the prime targets for this FO to send out. I don't move Lewis or Kirilloff for him in any circumstance. He has to hit like prime Thome to displace someone that can field and hit at his level or better. I can see Lewis moving to center field but don't think it has much to do with Miranda anymore. Much of that talk started due to mentally inserting Miranda at 3B as a fixture. He's now at least 3rd in the long term depth chart at 3B.
  3. This is correct. One of the things I've been puzzled about this team is that with all the frustrating seemingly easy wins given away they are very solid in bigger situations. The Astros, Yankees and Dodgers series were all well played. Other than falling flat against the Rays they seem to rise to the level of competition. Burnes and Williams yesterday. So hard to know at all what goes on in the minds of 28 year olds in a 162 game season. Correa has long said its about building to the postseason. There are blocks to build with here.
  4. Me too, maybe next time you can do lyrics that rhyme the same word with itself for me. 🤣
  5. It does feel like the quality of at bats has improved dramatically over the past week or so. Good things happen when you take good at bats. Even the Gallo AB where he took the took the called third strike was a good one. 0-2 count worked to full with good takes. Good hitters get fooled by good pitches, it happens and I can live with it. Light years better than some of the flailing we had 3 and 4 weeks ago.
  6. He did manage his butt off tonight. Can't really argue with any of the moves and it seemed like a good plan. On the radio they talked about the lefties having another time around and only one lefty. Maybe they knew something about Payamps too. As an aside, the quality of at bats was excellent tonight and have seemed better overall lately.
  7. We all know the calm before the storm is the worst part.
  8. Watching TV and listening to radio. What inning? I'll go back and listen.
  9. I distinctly remember watching the Brewers series last year and doing a calculation of what the two rosters would look like if combined as a super team. I came up with using all Brewers pitchers except two and all Twins hitters except two. Things have changed quite a bit.
  10. I really like the Phrilliep strategy with this pick, I'm much more comfortable taking a big swing here so long as its not a first baseman type.
  11. I think this is about where I'm at too. They will wait on Kepler as long as possible though so I'm mentally preparing myself. A DFA would shock the clubhouse and not be an entirely bad thing though. Make a couple of smaller moves that maybe net a reliever but mainly open up spots for in house talent and hope to get hot. The playoffs in the last several years are littered with teams that were mediocre half the year and clicked. This roster has the talent to click. Levine basically says that in this clip as well. Filling with in house talent is, wait for it, just like making a trade. Also the mindset of trading fits rather than pure buyer/seller is interesting. Similar to the Lopez/Arreaz deal trade need for need and keep trying to win. It fits where this roster is at. I would expect them to trade some of the extra outfield LH bats but I'm not so sure the names will be who we think are obvious. I think Gallo is a dark horse to go as he will get a higher return than we may think with the QO attached. Unfortunately I don't believe Kepler is a lock to go and have no earthly explanation for that. Levine indicating that he wants to open things up for the youngsters gives me some hope though.
  12. The platinum glove winning shortstop routinely missing his target 15 ft short? But only when it's a close play and he has to throw hard? We can argue if it's an effective technique but that he's doing it on purpose is not in question.
  13. Yup, and he tried to make up for it with the skip throw. Just tried it again. 1st baseman love it and he can uncork fully.
  14. I promise he skipped that one on purpose, to call back to another conversation.
  15. I think now we can all understand why Iowa football is such a thing despite 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense.
  16. For some reason Apple TV has the most absurd marketing especially when compared to everything else Apple does. Part of the great hook of the Apple TV device (not service, or maybe it works under the service on a different device but how the hell would anyone know) is that it integrates all the different apps and sign ins. You can just open the Apple TV app on your Apple TV device (two different things) and watch anything on any app you are signed in on. I presume this is only functional on an Apple device. I use Apple TVs as my main streaming devices but don’t really use the app at maximum value. It’s just intuitive to use individual apps for me but a one stop shop is nice too. I need to mess with this more. The Apple TV device is a really nice piece of hardware for not much more than a Roku etc. Here’s a basic video describing it, sounds like that functionality is in Hulu and prime as well. https://youtu.be/U0hpHfDve7Y Back on the original topic, I’m really curious how this will all break down with the blackouts in Iowa where several teams are dark.
  17. Fair, I don’t mind the change in a one run game but as we saw a bad day from a reliever can be trouble too. I do trust they know better than I though. Prime example where the lineup can cause the bullpen extra stress. Good win though.
  18. This was one where I will quibble with Rocco a bit on pulling Ober. He didn't seem to be struggling, low pitch count and the bottom of the order coming up it seems that starting the 7th would be reasonable. The outcome would likely have been the same using one less reliever. If he does the same thing Moran did, pull him then.
