  1. Looks to me like the A's are trying to win the West. So I doubt they're trading. Unless they get a haul in return.
  2. They had one. There was just an article posted on him a couple days ago
  3. Well Google is wrong. I'm his dad. He's working with a group out of Nashville. The same group Brent Rooker is working with. Brent turned him on to it.
  4. I agree with your post. But Trevor did not go to Driveline last off season.
  5. I disagree that Wallner nor Larnach can perform against lh. If health permits they should roll them out there. If the Twins philosophy is to sub out 1 or both at the 1st hint of lh like the past few years then they're not the answer. There are certain lh, guys like Snell and Sale who will twist them in knots. On those days give them the day off. Otherwise, let them play. And before you start calling for Rodriguez and Jenkins, does anyone think they're not going to be platooned as well when their time comes. This will not change until a different group with a different philosophy comes in. I don't understand why the Twins didn't platoon Castro vs lh or Santana vs rh. Yeah they're switch hitters. But Castro numbers are higher from the left side while Santanas numbers were higher from the right side. Explain the difference. Those 2 lead the team in AB even with a significant drop off from 1 side of the plate
  6. The Rooker who has played great in Oakland is not the same Brent Rooker who played in Minnesota. He has revamped his whole hitting approach. I always liked Rooker. If he hadn't changed his game he might be on his way out of baseball. But he did and it's results have been off the charts. I'll bet his projection numbers going into 2023 weren't even close to his actual numbers. Id agree 100% that anyone who saw Garlick or Celestino as better options went out and got corrective lenses. But Rookers improvement was done on his own. The metrics don't or can't forecast this type of improvement. So it's hindsight. That's it. That and the Twins MO of right vs lefties platoon. With that philosophy he wouldn't have gotten the chance to be an everyday player.
  7. Suddenly Pablo is an ace in your scenario. 😄
  8. Just wanted to let you know that the cookies baked by Larnach don't have nuts to comply with the folks who are allergic to them.
  9. So if you're using Luis Robert Jr. as a comparable player, talent injuries etc. Wouldn't this be the right time to move off Lewis? Another injury or 2 will diminish his value as well. Won't it? And what does "Lewis is more than his performance" mean? He can't or won't be the face of the franchise if he can't stay healthy. And his drop off at the end of 24 leaves even more question marks. I'm not advocating for Lewis to be traded. But on this platform there is a lot in print about what fans WISH a player was vs what he actually is.
  10. We won't get fooled again. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. Tell me exactly how this helps? Other than preventing St. Peter from inserting foot in mouth. Of course Falvey talks on the phone a lot. But he doesn't make any moves because he's handcuffed. It looks like the Twins are rolling 2 jobs into 1.
  11. The Mets amended offer of 6 years for 157 million wasn't too far off? I guess 43 million is peanuts. Falveys statement of a really high bar is just a way of him saying that whoever wants Correa needs to take the rest of his contract as well. That's 4 more years at roughly 130 million. New York. Perfect place for him. I'd do it just to hear the reception he gets from Twins fans when they play. Haha
  12. Yeah and Sparky Anderson used to compare Kirk Gibson to Mickey Mantle. Nothing against Lewis, but Twins fans can only hope he's a shadow of Sandberg. Lewis is still trying to figure out who and what he is. He needs to go back to playing with the youthful exuberance he has shown when things are going well. Not that lost guy everyone saw at the end of the season.
  13. It's changed because they embraced it. Not just Falvey. All of them. Let's just do a hypothetical here. The team has a Rodriguez/Munson type of catcher. With Jeffers as a backup. Falvey is saying he would still do a split. Maybe not 50/50 but there would still be a catchers threshold. NUTS.
  14. A lot to digest. The numbers I looked closest at were 1 run games and extra innings where decisions are magnified. Slightly over .500 in 1 run games. Slightly under in extra innings. All the rest is pied piper. To me he's just an avg. manager at best. But then again, that could be said about most MLB managers. Hyde in Baltimore is a good example. He held things together when he had no players. Now he has good players but he will be judged on his playoff record if they don't advance in 25.
  15. Watching Carlos play 1st was great this past year. I keep reading put Miranda at 1st put Julien at 1st put Lewis at 1st, give Wallner or Larnach a glove and work them at 1st. Carlos knows when to go for or not go for the tweeners. He scoops nearly every throw. And his ability to chase down foul pop-ups is 2nd to none even at 38. That ability takes a lot of work. The only problem with Carlos is that his ability to hit lh has diminished or I'd run it back all over again. Whomever takes over at 1st this year needs to rake because the defensive drop-off is going to be huge. Congrats to Mr. Santana
  16. Everyone knows the reasons why it's done. And America is not telling poor countries what to do in situations like this. It extends all the way down to little league aged participants. At that age it's just blatant cheating. And as far as technology goes, that's a poor excuse. It's not the stone age. Births are recorded all over the world. A simple genealogy search will take most people back a long way before there were computers or the internet. It was recorded on paper. With ink.
  17. If Correa was to agree to waive his no-trade clause, the Twins would still have to eat a sizeable portion of his contract. He still has value. But he also has 2 consecutive years where he's had issues. He had poor results in 23 and in 24 his play was great but he was only available for a little more than 1/2 the year. And he's now over 30. I agree that Lopez is up and down. He has stretches where he's elite and then he turns into Varland. Other teams know all this too. I'd personally stick with him. He's closer to becoming a dominant pitcher than he is in becoming a pumpkin. Lewis is interesting in the sense that it's now clear he will not be an elite defender. What is unclear is how his bat will play. He's shown flashes of MVP type play. Yet at the end of this season he looked more like Jerry Lewis than Royce. He still has problems staying on the field as well. And he's not the face of the franchise. Yet! That's the problem. He needs to stay on the field and produce. How did Baldelli mishandle Lewis? If Seattle wanted to trade Gilbert for Lewis straight up. The Twins should jump on it. Logan is closer to winning a Cy Young than Lewis is to winning a MVP
  18. Yeah. It was his broken heart and anguish that caused his drop in production this year. He cried every time he deposited that check. I like Polanco. Injuries over the past few seasons is the biggest culprit in his decline. Not longing for Minnesota.
  19. In the 1st sentence you say the Twins can't afford another collapse like 2024. OK I agree. So to avoid this you're creating a list and the probability of players being traded. What's the return? Are you expecting high prospects in return? Mid prospects? Or are other teams just going to give the Twins better players because they're so nice? If they trade the " core" players and get little in return then there won't be a collapse. There will be a battle with the White Sox for the cellar spot.
