  1. If one of the biggest reasons to dump Larnach is his potential 4 or 5 million dollar salary win in arbitration then it makes no sense at all to keep Lopez and his $21 million salary for 2026. Probably same with Ryan and his arbitration salary. No im not even considering comparing Larnachs value to Ryan and Lopez. He isn't anywhere near them in team value. I think they should offer arbitration to Larnach then trade him at some point this off season for whatever you can get. Don't lose him for nothing. Just another example of how Twins screw up so many of these can't miss prospects. Any faith in Twins doing better with the next wave of can't miss prospects? I don't think they have earned that at all.
  2. Yawn, yawn, and yawn. Just a typical Twins off season looking at the left overs. Only more of it this year.
  3. Good article. Well thought out. Yes the Twins have to budget their payroll even better, much better than they have. Falvey has done a very poor job of that in the past by spending too much on select free agents and not working on player development. IMO Twins have done a poot job of developing talent. Too many prospects regressing or flaming ouy.
  4. So when does Falvey accept responsibility for his performance as GM? The Twins have consistently been on top or very near top of payroll in the Central. Last year before the teardown they ranked 17th overall out of 30. No not great but not rotten. They have regularly outspent Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas City, and the White Sox. I think Falvey should be scrutinized in his handling of the payroll budget. Signing Correa was so foolish especially after two teams rejected him for health reasons. They could have signed 3-4 players for the money they gave Carlos. I don't think ownership cares what Falvey or Buxton thinks. It's quite clear they don't care what the fans think. It's quite clear ownership has no public relations skills at all. I fully expect bith Ryan and Lopez to be traded this off season. Perhaps Buxton as well.
  5. Clemens at least deserves the shot at first. He earned that last year. What has Falvey earned?
  6. Yes 2026 will be huge for Royce Lewis. The good thing is the team doesn't look to be competitive. Maybe this will take some pressure off him and relax him more. I sure hope so.
  7. Well I'm assuming the Twins will trade both Ryan and Lopez and perhaps they should. Lopez simply because of hus salary. Keeping a pitcher at 22.5 million this year just doesn't fit the organizations budget. And he is not a deal or underpaid at that salary. Come on he only plays once per week or so. I think they will just get a couple prospects for him to dump salary. Ryan they could presumably get something decent in return. Plus the last two seasons he had poor second halves looking tired and ineffective. Im concerned in that regard. If you aren't planning on being competitive in 2026 then make your best deal for him this off season.
  8. Good article. I think you nailed it on these four players.
  9. Who can believe much of anything Falvey says anymore? All he sells is hope and hype. I don't understand why he doesn't get more flack. Before the tear down last July the Twins were 17th out of the 30 teams in payroll. Not great but surely not outlandish. Also they consistently have lead the Central division in payroll. I think Falvey has done a terrible job allocating the payroll funds hes been given. But Falvey sells snow in the wintertime. He is full of hot air and continually lies and misleads fans about the Twins development player development and the organization as a whole.
  10. How can anyone believe much of anything Falvey says. He is so full of himself it's disgusting. He just keeps lying and sells the fans on hope and hype. Also you may as well trade both Ryan and Lopez. With a lockout coming after the season I can't imagine too many teams would trade for those guys at the deadline. This team is probably at about 60 wins next year even with Lopez and Ryan. May as well get what you can this winter while the return may be good. People complain about all the negativity here. Well it's brought on by the organization itself. Im hoping they sell the team after the lockout ends.
  11. Just stick with Lee. The alternatives don't seem to be much better. All this wait for Culpepper talk is curious. So many people clamoring for Culpepper for shortstop. He is just the latest in a long line of can't miss stars that haven't proven anything except he was pretty good in minors. I hope he does great but all the hype just like previous can't miss prospects that fizzle out very early has me very skeptical.
  12. The major thing this article shows is that the Twins don't do a good job of scouting, drafting, and player development. 4 decades and just a handful of star players is pretty lame.
  13. Great hire. LaTroy Hawkins should be a great addition.
  14. Im sorry but I am one of those on the more pessimistic side. They didn't trade Ryan to Boston mainly because Boston got in on trade talks with Twins way too late. Rumors continue out of Boston that they will make every attempt to get Ryan. Mostly involving prospects. Lopez is a very good pitcher but if they really aren't plan on on contending I can't see why they keep him and his 21.6 million salary for 2026. All Indications are the salary dump will continue this off season. There isn't as much talent on this team as people think IMO. I think the young prospects have been grossly mis managed by the organization.
  15. Byron Buxton had a great year in 2025!! It took him 10 years to get there and he still missed around 40 games. But he excelled in 2025. He deserves the award. He should be given an award for perseverance. He should be given a lifetime achievement award should he truly decide to stay with the Twins. But this obsession with him is over the top. It's not proper to compare him to the greats when he has missed so much time. Bottom line is hes a good player when he can stay on the field. 2025 was awesome but it doesn't make his career great.
  16. I doubt they will sign anyone for over 5-6 million per year. Im guessing Shelton was brought in to help shape the Twins into becoming the Pirates of the American League. I'd like to see them play the younger players too. However they have done such a terrible job of development. How can they be trusted? This franchise is a wreck.
  17. Like Baldelli was used as a scapegoat for the teams performance so too Miranda being used as a scapegoat for the Twins failures in developing young talent. Yes Miranda blew it but IMO had some assistance along the wat from managers and coaches.
  18. Yawn, yawn, yawn. Who cares? Probably the biggest move the Twins make this off season.
  19. I doubt the Twins will sign anyone of any significance this off season. I also kind of like the idea of trying Wallner at 1B.
  20. A B-? Really a B- . Way too high. I'd give him a solid D. He may be a fine person and a very good baseball man but he doesn't move the needle at all. I believe the point of the article was grading the Twins hiring of Shelton. In that regard it was a bad choice. The Twins needed someone with a winning resume not a sleepwalking to maintain the status quo. IMO this just signals more of the same Twins bs. Maybe this is the only person that really wanted the job. I mean after all who else would hire a manager with a winning percentage of 400? His presser was classic Falvey style: speak corporate junk and don't say anything of substance. It points to a other long stretch of minor league baseball disguised as Major League Baseball. It also points to another year of record poor attendance. Does anyone care anymore? After 6 decades of following the Twins in am very close to giving up
  21. Such a bland press conference by Shelton. This team has gone downhill since Falvey took over. Yes he had one good year. But in his 10 years here he just provides very boring minor league baseball disguised as Major League. This whole organization has turned into a joke and is an embarrassment.
  22. It's ok if they bring him back on the cheap if he even wants to come back. He was a financial bust with this past contract, no doubt. Rumors continue to swirl that all 3 of Lopz, Ryan, and Jeffers will likely be traded this off season. An interesting but totally uninspiring off season coming.
  23. I fully expect Lopez and his 21.5 million salary due in 2026 to be traded for mid level prospects. After all why do a rebuild and keep that much money on the books. I expect Ryan to be gone as Twins look for better players there. Again it makes sense whether I agree with it or not. Keep in mind each of the past two seasons Ryan has had poor second half season. Ryan is a possibility as well. Twins are in a tear down mode and don't seem to care whether they have replacements or not.
