  1. Well like normal the Twins propaganda machine known as Twins Daily is over- hyping again. Banda is a decent pickup. Elite?? Come on how ridiculous. He's not even elite on the Twins. I hope he does well. At least he is probably on the top of the Twins growing mountain of pitchers rejected by other clubs.
  2. Ryan is only going to make 6 million this year. Oh my I sure hope he can feed his family. In all likelihood Ryan won't be long for the Twins anyway. He's pitched well although in each of the last two years his second halves have not been good. Considering the Twins front office and ownership it seems very unlikely that they will sign him to an extension. That mutual extension for $13 million won't be extended...most mutual extensions aren't. It seems to me that they need to trade the likes of Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers, and Buxton while they can get something good for them.
  3. I hope Culpepper is a hit. It's always the same only the players names change. The last wave of can't miss prospects have produced just 1 playoff team in the last 5 years. Many have regressed and some have flopped and aren't here anymore. Im sure Culpepper will be the next can't miss prospects we will see have a great major league career. I really do hope he does great. That's all the Twins have to sell to fans is hope and hype.
  4. You could also have mentioned Buxton. He had a great 2025! But hes only played 2 full seasons in 10 due to a long list of injuries. He needs to have another healthy full productive season for the Twins. Also i would tender the enthusiasm regarding the great prospects that are major league ready. We've been down that path for over 10 years. Many of the can't miss prospects in the passed have fizzled out or regressed so badly. The current list of major league ready players in the minors have a lot to prove before we get all excited by their eminence.
  5. Monitor is a great addition to the TV side!! Plouffe is excellent and open minded. He doesn't sugar coat crummy play and try to sell it as good baseball. Perkins is great as well especially if you try to tune out his often time home town Twins are great bias. Morneau is pretty good if his long drawn voice and overanalyzing EVERYTHING is toned down. Span is ok but needs to talk a little louder and get more experience. Provus is great. Just the right mix of voice quality and even keel approach to broadcasts. I miss him so much on the radio. Unlike the talkaberry, oops I mean Atteberry, Provus takes pause at the broadcasts at times. Atteberry just drags out meaningless diatribe and seemingly never takes a break. His broadcasting is very hard to follow. Great hire of Molitor for Twins tv!!
  6. You talk about so many great starters. Let's be truthful here. We hav2 good starters and 1 possible good starters. Yes we have like 8 potential starters. That doesn't mean they are good. The leftovers most other teams don't want. So they end up in the Twins reclamation roster.
  7. Another ho hum "addition" to Twins mediocrity. No offense to Hendricks. His is a great story of perseverance coming back from injuries and cancer. Just what this team needs is another old veteran hoping to have something in the tank.
  8. They get another F for another crummy off season. Nothing has really changed. Same old same old.
  9. Oh my! Imagine that another player, Pitcher even, that is built around hope and hype. Twins way.
  10. The only competitiveness will be in fighting for last place with the White Sox. What a messed up organization.
  11. Same old Twins only worse this off season. The same philosophy of by passing most decent free agents, then saying you tried to sign some big name to make it look good. They then whine there are no decent free agents left. The same crap year after year. They only have hype and hope to sell to fans. That is getting old. This year 17 of our 81 home games will be played in April against some decent teams. They will likely be out of contention before memorial day. There is very little to root for except the development of the so-called can't miss prospects. That's why I still continue to say we need to trade Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers and Buxton and get something decent in return while their value is relatively high. They are a luxury on a terrible team and organization.
  12. I too disagree with the way the Twins are approaching the season. IMO there isn't any real need to keep Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers and Buxton. The team is not going to be competitive anyway. Tear it all the way down. Get those supposed can't miss prospects up and see if they can play. This ownership and front office have pretty much ruined any enthusiasm for the upcoming season. With the dumpster diving we are doing AGAIN, it seems like there's no attempt to make improvements. Let the prospects show what they can or can't do. Or trade some of them for established players .
  13. Same old Twins narrative; hope and hype. Roden might show people he belongs. Rojas could develop into a good pitcher. Same old bs only with different names and players. Nothing has really changed thus far except many of the players the Twins received during last years salary purge are not that impressive. My question is why haven't we move the likes of Ryan, Lopez, Ryan, and Jeffers yet? May as well go all in at this point. The team finished 70-92 last year with those players and had amongst the worst record after the deadline in all of baseball. Hardly a great endorsement. And while we are at it gets traded Buxton too, if for no other reason than to give him a real shot with a real team.
  14. The idea that the Twins were ever in on Peralta and Valdez is just more of the Twins propaganda machine. Just bs perhaps to stir some minor interest. It's always easy to say you were in on them after they sign elsewhere. We all know they weren't serious about it. Add me to the list of fans that think they should trade any or all if Buxton, Lopez, Ryan, and Jeffers while they can still get decent, and of course cheap, value in return. It's been apparent for a long time this team is not interested in being competitive. They probably figured out that it's more profitable to be a bad team and collect revenue sharing monies than to actually pay major league level players. Besides why do people just expect them to greatly increase payroll when they just are getting the debt bought down. It would make no sense financially to just run the debt back up. Im expecting maybe a 65-70 win year season and at times not noticing the difference between The Twins and St. Paul Saints. Not surprising since the Pohlads own them too.
  15. Defense has been an issue with the Twins. It looks more questionable than I realized after reading your article. Just another reason to question the validity of this team. Looks like a long boring summer for the few Twins fans remaining
  16. Look it's obvious the Twins are not going to be competitive in 2026. They SHOULD trade Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers and yes even Buxton. These players could bring a decent return. Ryan is good, not great. Lopez is a 21.5 million luxury that is not affordable on a small budget team. Buxton should be traded to a team that has a decent chance of going deep in the playoffs. At this stage of his career and the time spent with the Twins he deserves it. And let's be realistic. He had a great 2025. He played a somewhat full season. But hes only played 2 full seasons in 10 years. We all hold our collective breaths as he makes another great catch or gets hit by a pitch. It's time to move on from Buxton . Ryan Jeffers is going to be a free agent. It's unlikely Twins will resign him unless it's on the cheap. The Twins propaganda machine just keeps spewing out the same worn out sales pitch: Hope and hype
  17. Both ownership and Falvey are to blame for the current blight of the Twins. My question or concern is that now that we have zoll budgeting payroll, is ownership going to cut payroll more? With a scaled back budget i wouldn't be surprised if some or all of Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers, and Buxton are traded.
  18. This is a sign to me that this currently constructed roster has very little chance of being competitive. If we are not going to be competitive anyway, then please trade Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers, and yes Buxton too. Ryan and Jeffers should get you a nice return. Lopez too. Plus his 21.5 million salary for each of this year and next could be better used elsewhere. Buxton should kd be traded for mercy if for no other reasons. He deserves to be on a strong contending team. Not wasting the rest of his career with a clueless organization.
  19. IMO there were many more negative moves than positive. While most, including me, were excited about signing Correa it turned out to be a big bust and a big bust. When the payroll was decent around the 150 million level Falvey did a terrible job of budgeting that payroll in part by giving too much of it to one player. The Mahle trade was a disaster. So many to mention. I am glad Falvey is gone but the timing and chaos left behind is typical of the franchise of late.
  20. Nice article Seth. Nothing new here only the same dumpster diving philosophy the Twins have pushed especially during the Falvey regime. The only thing different is the names have changed. I am going to be very curious the shape of the team and franchise takes after Falveys departure. I can make a good guess that the Twins and their payroll take a further dive. Perhaps this is a big reason why Falvey is gone. I certainly don't expect them to greatly increase payroll after the sold 20% ownership in said team to help get out of debt. So i wouldn't be surprised now that Falvey is gone that one or all of Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers and Buxton are dealt. Maybe even before the regular season starts. I was never a Falvey fan. I thought he should have been fired when Baldelli left. But Falveys departure with spring training just around the corner further questions their direction and adds to the chaos. Im so curious what if anything of any substance will be changing.
  21. Great story. Im not a Falvey fan and IMO he needed to go when Baldelli was dumped. Anyway my guess is there was philosophical differences and in particular major payroll differences that Falvey didn't agree with. This "mutual" parting of the ways comes at a peculiar time. This organization keeps shooting itself in the foot. Im guessing the payroll will stay between 100-110 This year and likely less. I would expect the Twins to actively trade all or some of Lopez, Jeffers, Ryan, and Buxton. We are going to become the Pittsburgh Pirates of the American league. Maybe even the Miami Marlins. Unbelievable.
  22. IMO the Twins should trade Ryan (to get a decent return while you can) Lopez ( to save $) Buxton (because of a good haul and because he deserves to be with a contender) and Jeffers because he will be a free agent soon and it is very unlikely they are making any long term contract commitments.
  23. Another meaningless trade by Falvey. He loves to trade for pitchers with arm troubles. Since Kaminska had Tommy John surgery in March I believe, he won't be available perhaps until mid season?? Anyway I hope he does well but I don't this and the other moves made so far are moving the needle at all on the 2026 Twins. Yawn, Yawn!!
  24. That's true why not trade Jenkins and the other so-called can't miss prospects. We have had dozens of these supposedly great prospects either regress or totally fizzle out. IMO since they dont appear to be serious contenders this season i would absolutely trade Ryan and Lopez while you can get a good return.
  25. Yes the Twins propaganda machine has been spewing it out for a while now. Did the Twins buy Twins Daily. Ive been a Twins fan forb60 years. Yes that makes me old. But the Falvey years have been a joke. Obviously ownership has a big hand in that. But I get so tired of the same thing every year. Just like your article names great prospects. They don't mean much until they can perform at the major league level. Hope and hype is what they sell every year. Ive been so gullible to believe it over the past few years. Not anymore. Twins are going to have to prove to me that they are good. They have been bad in most areas the past several years. They've missed playoffs 4 if past 5 years. IMO they have a lot more roster building to be taken seriously. They may only be contenders with the White Sox for last placenin the Central in 2026
