  1. Everyone needs to take a deep breath. Losing Correa is not the end of the world. Farmer is a decent shortstop, and we will know by the time Lewis is ready whether he helps or hurts. Honestly our pitching staff looks better on paper than most years and our bullpen will most likely be a lot better now that we have an established closer. Catching is now acceptable, outfield has many options, and infield has many interchangeable parts. My biggest concern is third, where Miranda has shown no ability to handle it defensively. If he is given the chance and proves unable to handle it, either Lewis or Farmer shift there when Lewis is back. I still say the trading of Urschela was our worst offseason move.
  2. This article is discussing improving the infield defense, you cannot even consider Miranda at third.
  3. Miranda cannot play third. He can't even play first well.
  4. What's with him? He plays well everywhere he goes but has trouble keeping a job.
  5. Would Chris Archer not make a great long reliever? Why not look at that option for him.
  6. You are correct. We should go with Jake Cave as our left-handed outfielder and Placidios as our back-up infielder. And we wonder why this team can't move forward.
  7. Liked seeing Gordon at third. He needs some reps there in spring training next season so as to allow him the ability to play three infield positions and all outfield positions.
  8. Let's see if I got this right, we get beat by Josh Harrison (how many teams have released him) and somebody named Carlos Perez (first major league RBI) beats us in the eighth inning. Then we load the bases in the ninth, only to have Mark Contreras strike out to end the game. Not Byron Buxton, Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco, Trevor Larnac, or Alex Kiriloff, but Mark Contreras. This season cannot end soon enough.
  9. Of course not, but have watched enough Twins games to know that we have something good at third base after watching the way the position has been butchered over the last several years.
  10. Rocco, is that you? Put those stats down and watch the game.
  11. Well let's put Miranda there next season and see how that works how for you.
  12. Sign him for whatever he wants. His defense is incredible, he appears to be a great clubhouse guy and hitting is acceptable. Miranda is not the answer at third.
  13. Is it safe to say that the Celestino experiment in center field did not work? Between his inability to make the simplest throws in the outfield, to his constant baserunning mistakes, I think it is safe to say it did not work out and would probably be best if he was in another uniform next season.
  14. No Miranda at third. His defense is atrocious. You can try to hide him at first but even that is a gamble. Re-sign Urshela and DH Miranda. I may be alone in this feeling, but I have deep concerns about Arraezs' current slump. It's beginning to look as though teams have figured him out. Kepler and Polanco could be gone as the Twins have younger players who could step in at those positions with little or no drop off. Agree with you on the pitching, it should be a strength next year. I am for moving on from Correa and letting Royce Lewis handle shortstop. Take the savings from that move and the departure of the other contracts and get a front-line catcher (Wilson Contreas, etc). Jeffers would make a nice backup. Bullpen will be better just by addition by subtraction. Lopez, Pagan and Fullmer hopefully will all be gone with Alcala, Stashak, and others back in good health.
  15. Lopez has not been good with us. His misplay of Straw's grounder started the ninth inning issues.
  16. Biggest at bat of the season and we have Kyle Garlick at the plate. Wonder how that turned out!!!
  17. Not a single free agent that stirs the soul. Twins need to look for a minor league catcher stuck behind an established player who is major league ready but can't move due to someone in front of him. Similar to what Washington did several years ago by grabbing Wilson Ramos who could not move due to Joe Mauer.
  18. Making a call. Judge two-run homer and we all go home.
  19. Maybe Celestino can learn to run bases at St. Paul again next season. Keep in mind he had an awful baserunning situation in yesterday's game, getting thrown out at home by about 20 feet.
  20. When Rocco leaves, does he take Tommy Watkins with him?
