  1. This kind of article is why I read TD.
  2. this whole thread is made up of errors. Our error for letting them go or their error for trying to make something out of them
  3. Lets hope Rocco is a better manager than Molitor. If he handles the pitching staff better, Pineda could be a star. If he handles pitching like Molitor then we are looking at another long year, regardless of how the hitters hit.
  4. Its almost as if some people only read stats and don't watch the games. I know that isn't true, but it sounds like it. -Sano (when healthy) could have a thunderous bat and a bazooka arm, and end up being the most sought after 3rd baseman in the majors. -We saw what Buxton can do in the field. When he finds his hitting stroke (and he will) he will be get MVP consideration. -Polanco has turned into a solid fielder and a strong bat at SS. -Schoop, if he returns to 2017 levels would be an all star. -Kepler and Rosario are proven excellent fielders and their bats can carry them to the top of the stat sheet. -Who knows what a year off will do for Castro, but his fielding and pitch calling and framing will make our pitching staff stronger and a .250 average is not out of reach for him. I know this is more optimism than some folks can take, but we've watched them do it. The talent is there and it is young. Lets enjoy this bunch we have and be glad they are giving them another chance to redeem themselves.
  5. Buxton, Sano, Rosario, Kepler, Castro would all be top players in any roster & we have 4 solid starters that could have clutch seasons. I'll take my chances with this lineup, thank you.
  6. I would be frustrated with anything but standing pat. Let's give Buxton & Sano another year. If they both mature, as expected we are headed to the playoffs. If they don't, we can still be a .500 team. This team is far from mediocre. Lets be patient, sit tight and hang on. 2019 will be a thrill ride.
  7. I have a novel idea. Leave one position alone. Left Field. Run Eddy Rosario out there every day and let him do what he does. He's worth the price of admission to any Twins game.
  8. To me, the best development of 2018 is the progress of Eddie Rosario. Now he can be depended on to be an All-Star caliber performer, both at bat and in the field
  9. My reaction to the news ? YAAAHOOO !!!
  10. Forget Reusse. He has always been a negative writer. I hated him when he was with the Pioneer-Press and he improved that newspaper when he moved to the STrib. Other than that, I like Reusse fine. Its just his opinions that are meaningless.
  11. Remember, we also have Zack Granite waiting in the wings. He won't hit for power, but he will hit for average & OBP.
  12. Hey guys. We're are below 500. We can't hit. The relievers are shi* The fielding stats aren't bad, but most of our errors were ruled hits. Still, we are only half way thru the season. Polanco is back. No telling what we'll do in the 2nd half. and Molly still sucks as a manager.
  13. Why did Moliter use all the new guys the first time out ? Are the holdovers really that bad ?
  14. When Gibson was "good" he was inconsistent. I'll be happy if 18's Gibson is consistently "good".
  15. Gibson as #2 starter ? That surprised me the most.
  16. a flurry of small injuries hits our starters. Duffy is picked as a starter and pitches brilliantly. 2nd coming of Bert. Completes the season as a starter and wins a post-season start.
  17. Pitchers who pitch predictable innings sometimes rebuild their arms and find a few xtra mph. We can only hope.
  18. I was fully prepared for another disappointing game vs GS. Does that mean I should be prepared to hope to win tonight ? I hope so.
  19. its time to kill this thread.
  20. Keep Vargas. his hitting is timely. Morrison can play OF at least as well as Grossman. I'd like to see Granite in rotation with our other OF. Nothing still falls but raindrops. But Granite will probably be sent to AAA and brought up if someone is injured. Escobar is a proven backup in the infield. no others are needed at this time.
  21. Lets see...this makes the Rochester rotation: Meija, Gonzalves, Sleger, Romero, Littell & Lord knows who else in Rochester. That should be a winning rotation for them and we'll see clearly who needs to be promoted to the Twins in case of injury or catastrophe.
  22. Yes. I have followed some threads on different players for years. I plan to have fun with it.
  23. ROSE's +/- is negative. Jones is positive. and Teague is slightly positive. It will be interesting to see if ROSE has a positive affect on this team.
  24. Never done this before, but I'll take Jacob Pearson.
  25. Leadership ? Sano. He can't help himself. Aybar keeps the infielders and 4th outfielders on their toes. They can see that he's a shadow of his former self, but his formidable reputation keeps them nervous. Vargas. He has had key hits on so many occasions. I hate the thought of loosing him. Of course they should sign Lynn or Cobb or Arrieta if they can. The Twins can't have enough good starters.
