  1. Their guys throw meatballs right down the middle and our guys watch them or foul them or swing through for strikes. Our guys throw meatballs and other teams don’t miss and hammer the pitch, and our pitchers talk about the ‘mistakes’, ‘if only’, at the presser. Maybe it’s just me. Or is it? Good to see Richardson settling in.
  2. Hitting off McKinstry didn’t break Wallner’s slump. Horrible at bat.
  3. Buxton really focused. Didn’t know how many outs there were after that catch.
  4. 0 for last 25 and playing both games. How about that Santana signing?!
  5. I had to take my like away because you STILL can’t spell Kirilloff. 😇
  6. The offensive explosion continues! 1 run on no hits.
  7. Yes. It made me laugh. Only hit was a Wallner homer off a non-pitcher, who Buxton. could only softly ground out against, Farmer and Santana watched called 3rd strikes with the bases loaded and 3-2 counts, and Jeffers error should have been the 3rd out. Calling it an Offensive Explosion is comical. Bring in Brockmire!
  8. Ace, eh? May as well have a real history before anointed. That’s a second off start out of 3. No need to be so desperate. It would be nice to start scoring before it doesn’t matter.
  9. And then, the other side of this is that the Twins were one of the horrible teams that contributed to the fast starts of the opponents, and they are the reason for the fast starts, not the other teams? Except we were 2-1 against KC) I like your angle, though. 12-8? Not very high hopes. Gloom and doomers relax. 4-6 isn't the end of the world. It's a long season. It is hard to watch all the Ks again, though. I hate that kind of baseball, and can't believe it has happened here. Amazing what can happen if one actually swings at the middle middle pitches instead of watching them, eh, Julian?
  10. TYLER JAY !!!! https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/04/mets-to-select-tyler-jay.html I wonder if Jason Kubel is still married to Tonkin's sister.....
  11. You mean its not the end of the world as we know it? The season wasn't over after 9 games? Willi Castro is quietly really laying an egg so far this season, and now on the basepaths, too.
  12. No other team will let Tonkin on the mound, but he is added to the TD proclaimed best bullpen in MLB, just like that? SMH.
  13. Atta buddy, DPCC. Economic at the plate. Why K on 8 pitches when you can do it in 3.
  14. At least there aren't 7 walks and 3 HBP and an error stranded with no runs. There's that. But that means there are no walks and 11 Ks.
  15. Just bring someone up that doesn't play outfield, and then have him play in the outfield. We do it all the time. Bring them up and have them play somewhere they don't. Flexible.
  16. Outman is 4 for 7 with 2 homers against the Twins, and only hitting .179 for the year.
  17. But all ST I was reading he does!
  18. Hey, the Padres were down 8-0 yesterday going into the bottom of the 6th, and won 9-8.
  19. But that is called one of Varland's only two mistakes by the radio announcers. Oh, I guess it helps IF YOU ACTRUALLY SWING AT THE MIDDLE MIDDLE PITCH.
  20. Middle, middle. Announcers love to say a pitcher only threw 2 mistakes, otherwise, pitched a great game. Right. Of course there are the walks and the other hits that put runners on. Varland has not pitched a good game. ERA sitting a run per inning now. 9.00. Free Varland!!!
  21. 12 0uts. 8 Ks. That will bring the fans out. Being in the field is really helping Buxton focus at the plate.
  22. How come our guys don't hit middle middle pitches out?
  23. Almost. Jackson had already immediately given up a first batter dinger on a hanging slider meatball that didn't slide at 85 mph right down the middle on a 3-2 count to Outman, a lefty, so by the time LH batting Ohtani had come up to hit his homer, lefty Trammell had struck out, and RH batting Betts lined out, and the Twins were already behind one, now. So Jackson was brought in to face L,L,R for sure, and finished with L,L, so 4 out of 5 LH batters, entering with the game tied. Seems a little odd, eh?
  24. No, I don't think those people would. They would admit they liked the other decision, to go with Ober cruising and 68 pitches for the 6th, just like you are admitting you liked the decision that was made to replace him, even though it proved to be a choice that made people wonder what could have been, and the lead was given up. Pitchers also have to perform to the game, and not complain about the runs scored (not that they are, but fans are). We were ahead by one with 12 outs to go. The score could have been 10-9, and still the pitchers would have been given the job to hold a one run lead with 12 outs to go. I heard that this bullpen is supposed to be the very best in the game this year.......
  25. ...,. and don't look and see what Berrios is doing so far, while we still wait and wait for some guy named Martin to get a MLB hit, and a three named pitcher to actually make the team. But the Mahle trade was even worse.
