    Well, that is all pretty assumptive. A Lesson? Baldelli showed him. Bobby Knight school of pain.

    First of all, no teams that wear uniforms in an MLB game like the Padres did, deserve to win a game, especially 10-1. All of the homers that Ryan gave us were crawlers, barely over the wall. A couple might have been caught (Buxton just missed, and Garlick looks like he can only jump 4 inches). All almost long fly ball outs, and with the 2 out homers, the end of the innings. But Baldelli can go.................... himself. Shame on him, especially after the game went to 6-1 and 4 homers given up, leave his rookie starter in the game that has been carrying this staff. He clearly was missing locations from the get go with the walk and a homer in the first. All homers that were hit were center cut pitches (all in the center of the plate, one center center and others various heights) except the last one, that was center height but 6-8 inches outside! All just crawled over the fence. Great for confidence Baldy, and thanks for putting Ryan in the wrong category of the record book. No excuse for that. It was not his game, and he deserves better protection. My opinion of Baldelli and his lack of intuition can now never be swayed otherwise. Right now, I can't stand the guy. As for Wes Johnson, whatever the pitchers are doing now, he is greatly responsible for. If you learn something, you don't just forget it when the guy is not there a few weeks later. It is still affecting your performance, and probably will for a long time. One might say that Johnson is responsible for the currrent state of affairs. I won't, because I think the coach is always overrated. Usually never could do it themselves, but are all high and mighty about how to do it. I am not saying they are not very helpful and important, just that it is always the player who plays the game, regardless of the coach. This team's pitching was horrible before Johnson left, and got worse as the year went on, with Johnson still there. He is no guru. And he is a quitter. Middle of the season and in first place. No respect. SMH.

    These unsigned 19 and 20 guys are probably better off going to college to play for the next year. I would love to hear the conversations that happen when the selection gets stiffed his slotted bonus.

    If Mahle is on the team he can't break Buxton's hand again. Just like the Twins to go after the 2 tier... or 3rd. The guy that is coming off a shoulder strain IL stint and is pitching to his worst stats since 2019. Mediocre at best. Just what we need. He would fit right in,

    So throw Tellez another change up, eh? The first 3 run homer wasn't a clue, Sanchez? (So to correct the article, that was 6 runs, - 2 three run homers - on 2 home runs, not 7 runs.) 10 walks by our staff, 5 scored. The top of our batting order, Arraez, Correa, Buxton, and Polanco - 0/16 with 8 Ks. Ouch. But the pitching is again the story. Tic Toc. Trade deadline coming up. This FO has really let this team down, in the off season and so far now. 35 million on Correa and no pitching. Great strategy, eh? Jose Miranda is hot now!

    Absloutely. I have been bringing it up all year. A virtual small rodent type animal even tried to argue with me about it. Putrid. Many are just slow, but even the quick runners don't steal well or don't even attempt to steal because they are only 50% effective. Mental mistakes on the bases. And Watkins is even worse at third base than Diaz was. Really a sad part of the coaching and training it seems. There are other teams that are worse than the Twins on the bases, but they are in the bottom of the heap in stuff like going first to third, scoring from first on a double, and even scoring from second on a single. We watch other teams run at will on us.

    That was kind of a tough angle to throw from, and it would have to be a perfect throw to get the runner at home anyway, but that throw by Kirilloff was just sad. Maybe he thought he was bowling.

    Song for Sano on his return. He has been away, and I know it is still "early", but I saw him on the dance floor and nothin' had changed.

    Smart decision. He has not been all that good, even in college. May as well get your education paid for and play ball and improve instead of getting under minimum wage in the minors. "The two-way starter for the Crimson Tide went 4-5 last season in 16 starts and recorded a 4.29 ERA.

    Cart before the horse, "He’s agreed to an over-slot deal with the Twins." That's sounds good, but there is no mention of it from him, and no signing is announced, and not even in MLB rumors. If he has agreed to an over-slot deal, this is a scoop, and the first mention of it, and that should be news by now. I'll get to know him if he signs. So far, only 3 of 20 drafted have been announced as signed - 1st round Brooks, Competitive Balance round Schobel, and 6th round Ortega,

    If Buxton had been a Yankee, he wins the MVP, or if Stanton had hit the game winning solo homer and Buxton the two run tying homer, you know that Stanton would have still won the MVP. Usually, the winning homer is the MVP of the All-Star game. I guess this time, for all the deniers, RBI proves meaningful and interesting.

    Sands has been a first option for fill in games when Winder not available in the show. But he can't even command AAA. Balazovic yesterday and Sands today. Crushed. Again. The Twins' pitching pipeline established by the pitching gurus:

    The top prospect on the list isn't even signed, and was out all of last year recovering from surgery, and the others have difficulty staying on the field, and Balazovic is getting worse. One hell of a pipeline, eh?

    Happy for any pitcher in the first couple of rounds. Happy for a lefty. I hope they get him signed.

    Just what we need. Another shortstop that won’t be a shortstop. No pitcher. Some things never change. At least they took a gamble on a pitcher at 48. I hope Lee is more than a DH and the bizarre leg injury isn’t too restrictive in his future.

    Mediober. Ober is not an answer. He can’t even ever stay on the field. But he is a Dobnak fools gold and will turn into a liability anyway. Smeltzer. Bundy. Archer. All low price liabilities. They may have a good month or two. So did Nolasco. Amazed folks think Ober will be a savior.

    Atlanta was 44-45 at the break last year. They were devastated with injuries. Anything can happen, and probably will. Unlikely trades didn't seem that great. Unlikely heroes emerged. Defending WS Champs. Go figure.

    I am not a Devon Smeltzer apologist, but I totally agree with him here. Baldelli's "gut" told him that Gray would be fine after taking a batted ball on his pitching tricep at over 100 mph early in the game, pitching with no command before, and less after, and it seems to me, and I posted in real time, that he had to come out. Instead, history on the way to the 12-2 massacre, and the inevitable Slam. But today, Smeltzer was hoodwinked and deception was the MO. And the carousel of inept bullpen place holders get the call. No start the inning and at least give him one batter with the parade of 6 innings to the finish in cue and up and ready in the pen. Just the merciless yank. Add me to the miffed list.

    It would seem prudent to trade Sano, especially since word has it, because of his girth and growth, he will now require 2 roster spots instead of the usual one.

Buxton stayed on third base through three hitters and never got a chance to come home. One of the most fun moments of the game was being able to witness the “Buck Truck”, something that Buxton does in honor of his father who was a truck driver and his teammates have joined him in the dugout. To watch it happen as he got a standing triple was something really neat." I, for one don't find the trucker horn thing that I did as a child on the highways even close to "fun", and find it sad that it can be considered one of the most fun moments of a baseball game, But whatever. To each its own. I even found it lame as a kid. I mean really, what kid didn't do the truck horn thing? And every parent taught it to them, regardless if the father drove a truck. It just looks desperate when you are batting all of .200. And nobody "hates" Buxton. We all just want him and hope for him to find consistent success, and not this sad repetitive streaks of failure. And Buxton had many chances to score from third base through the three hitters. Especially when Chicago's third baseman was about 30-35 feet from the base. Rod Carew would have stolen home in a heartbeat. No reason that a player with Buxton's speed doesn't ram it down the opposing teams’ throat when they shift like that with a runner with Buxton's speed on third. And it doesn't even take a runner that fast to score, if they just time it right. If the pitcher speeds up and balks, they score anyway, They should fine and suspend players that leave the bench like in the NBA. So tough of them. Tough guys. They weren't going to fight anyway. They just wanted attention. It is just ridiculous how these "men" puff their chests for nothing. Game was over anyway. Such tough guys.
