  1. Kepler is hitting now. Gallo is hitting. Larnach has an option. Gordon doesn't. Solano doesn't. Where does he play? It might take an injury, for a IL replacement, and he keeps playing 2 days on and 1 off as they build up his wrist. Kirilloff has an option so he can move up and down. I think they would want him to play a lot, wrist watching, where ever he is playing
  2. "TwinsDaily readers pondered why Jhoan Duran was called into Thursday's game to close out a 7-1 affair. ( no we didn't. we all knew yesterday about the immigration when he came in the game ) Jorge Lopez responded today with the answer: "I used to do this at an All-Star level too." ......... and TwinsDaily readers pulled out their favorite commenting device in preparation to rip apart the Twins coaching staff in a way only that a group of fans who started their Friday fun-day early and often is capable of doing." Loving your readers, I see. 😇
  3. Thankful for the bats today! Scoring 8 runs can win a lot of games. Royals even out hit us 12-8. Lopez contract drunk. Since the signing only 4 games into the season, 2 starts, 10 innings, 11 earned runs (9.90 ERA albeit Jax let in 2 inherited runners of which one was on Lopez and one on Jax and his wild pitch) on 16 hits with 3 BBs and 2 hit batters with only one solo homer given up - all for the home fans. Yuk. Lucky to be 1-1 instead of 0-2 for these 2 starts. ERA now at 4.00, right about his career average of 3.94. Vazquez sure loves to call the off speed/breaking stuff. Sometimes 12 in a row.....
  4. Kyle Gibson is having a nice start, too. Can't figure out how to do the tables' pasting. But the above was a great game, and he is 4-0 with a 3.93 ERA in 34.1 innings. 3 really good starts and 3 not so good, The next start he had 102 pitches in 4.1 innings. https://www.mlb.com/player/kyle-gibson-502043?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb&year=2023
  5. Thanks much for the summary. I figured many were on the IL (6) or rehabbing and many were pitchers not pitching that day (7). So really only 6 of the top 20 that can't develop right now. Injuries are burtal.
  6. Wichita box link doesn't work. Use this https://www.milb.com/gameday/cardinals-vs-wind-surge/2023/04/26/728730#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=728730 Salas and Cavaco looking pretty ugly. Always seems strange to me to see 13 of an organizations top 20 prospects not on the field developing,
  7. I totally disagree with it, unless they are a total rental and a one of start or relief and then you have to DFA them anyway for roster spot. Eat innings? If you don't have a staff that can absorb a bad outing you are in trouble, anyway. This was a winnable game early, Even at 5-0 it was just after 3. Your team needs to cover for each other, not sacrifice them.
  8. No Baldelli presser included today? At least not yet. He has some 'xplain'n' to do..... I so hate when the manager throws in the towel in the 4th inning. Maeda should have not even started the 4th, maybe the 3rd. He didn't get one out, anyway in the 4th! That was still a winnable game until he just quit trying to win it.
  9. Don't tell Kyle Wright that. https://www.mlb.com/news/kyle-wright-wins-20th-game-of-2022#:~:text=Kyle Wright wins 20th game of 2022 Or Julio Urias. https://www.mlb.com/news/julio-urias-20th-win-2021
  10. https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2023/04/24/david-cone-rosin-experiment-sunday-night-baseball-max-scherzer-suspension Well, sometimes being the judge without all the physics or evidence can make one look silly. Looks like if rosin is legal, MLB needs to come up with an endorsed solvent to use instead of ejecting and suspending players for doing what the MLB officials/umpires told them to do.
  11. Gotta love Duran's little strikeout skip.
  12. Berrios pitches 7 shutout innings against the White Sox, 4 hits, 9Ks, 1 BB. ERA now down to 4.71. 3 good starts in a row after the first 2. This one the best yet.
  13. Duran has 19 pitches in 5 days. And to think he could be the next de Grom, and we are wasting his massive ability and talent, and he would rather be a starter, anyway.
  14. The Twins got Lopez drunk after all of 4 games, loaded him up, and today was a big Lopez hangover. 4 games and he was anointed. Now we see how long it lasts. I love excuses for the cold weather. The Twins bundled up in Bazooka Joe face gators, and the Nats went commando. They played in the same weather. 1-6 in the last 7. It ain't the weather.
  15. Spencer Steer still has a hot bat playing 3rd for the Reds. 50 ABs and 16 hits. 4 2Bs, 2 HRs, 9 runs, 9 BBs with only 8 Ks, 6 RBI, 1 SB, .320 BA, .424 OBP, .520 SLG, .944 OPS. Still SSS, but not bad, eh? You don't want to look at Miranda's line so far..... .320 .424 .520 .944
  16. Pedro ....Pablo..... We will come to know him by name, soon to be a first name basis. 😇
  17. 3 pitches, 3 strikes to the first batter. Too bad or defensive specialist catcher didn't keep the K. And the walk off couldn't have been more middle middle....... and it was a weird ballpark and luck that won the game in the end. Could a right fielder with focused effort have caught that fly? 4 hits, 16Ks and 2 errors, not to consider other bad decisions. Vazquez did not have a good game. He just can't be that close to the batter. Not smart. This is the kind of game that if you don't have a favorite team playing, is really really fun to watch. Very entertaining without a horse in the race, and you love baseball.
  18. Miranda turning one of the coolest double plays I have ever seen. Spectacular. What a weird game. I sure hope this is not a sign of things to come.
  19. I often see Ober grouped with "the young reinforcements", or something like that. And I always think, the guy is not young, and has yet to last a majority of any season on the field. Maybe this is the year.
  20. Compared to the last long term pitching contract the Twins cajoled successfully, Dobnak's deal, it is quite generous. I wonder what would have happened if he hadn't signed it, and wanted more? I mean, Arraez was traded for him after he didn't like his extension offer, and those that don't like the extension offer don't seem to last long on the roster. I'm glad he liked it. At least I think I am, after just 4 games - If he pitches anywhere close to these games, and stays off the IL, it will surely be a winner.
  21. Awwww, come on! Just read the aggregate of players' interviews and comments. This locker room is ultra-talented and they know they are real good! So good, most of them didn't need ST reps because they knew what to do to be ready without them. Back fields, most of the games off, etc. And I read lots about how Gallo was very valuable, regardless of his last year's stats. It's coming. 😇
  22. Tell me again, George... Tell me again how pitchers can't pitch complete games anymore...... Well, Lennie, they certainly can't if they are not given the opportunity. But it can be done sometimes when they are. Cole isn't really that good. It is just the Twins didn't get any hits today while he pitched. 😇
  23. I would say the totality of his season so far IS inconsistent, Started great, and now he and Buxton are tanking.
  24. I just want to know who had to pick up the gum Baldelli threw on his way out. I have never seen a gum throw as a parting shot until today. (3:13 of the 3:25 highlight video titled Rocco Baldelli's ejection)
