    Well, he could have said the same thing without the Rivera reference. He didn't use Thielbar, for instance 😇 Unfortunately, it is happening pretty often lately for Duran. And giving himself the whole year is...... well..... kind of depressing. Aw shucks. The amount of contact batters get is even more depressing. Even if he gets the out, the hitters and making great contact throughout the at bats. At Jeffers and Vazquez keep calling the breaking stuff that is getting tattooed. Very unfortunate.

    Well, we disagree that innings is more important than pitch count. But we will never know how he would have done. We do know that Thielbar offered absolutely no relief, gave the kid an earned run gift, as well as a loss. The perfect teammate. His old tired arm can throw every day. And worse results.

    That should be on the jersey. too. For all the players in the pen. And one for Nick and all the articles .........

    Exactly. But these are professional baseball players. Kershaw was coming back from an injury. Tender. Old. Brittle. And he hadn't pitched as many innings is his rehab. And he stretched out more in the Show. Sure, a vet. He has stretched out before. But more innings/pitches is a progression, I generally might agree with you, but in this case, this is the time to get at least one more batter. Lots of pitchers have a rough battling inning, and can find it the next, and late in his outing. It really doesn't make a lot of sense to me, to think that a young person can't pitch a few more pitches like the old guys. Steady progression, no matter when it is. It is still the same game and mound.

    Young. Strong. Has to get stretched out sometime. Steady progression. Ozuna was one to be careful with, too. It's Showtime. Baby players in the minors. Become a MLB player in the Show. Or not. One more batter...... we will never know......

    Is that Delmon Young in leftfield? We are playing position players at every position that are not very good defensively right now. Except Santana. But hey.... they are versatile. Just the way the FO likes it.

    Why not? One pitch can be a double play! Not great, but..... Thielbar to wreck the game. Baldelli's Nick Punto. Or is that Farmer. Theilbar to potentially give the loss to Festa. He earned at least the next batter with the game pitched and only 88 pitches.

    I can't say that I got to see his whole advance from start to finish on all the video I could see. You had to kinda but together the play from different camera angles without a complete uninterrupted sequence. But I thought Watkins should have been removed from base coaching 2 years ago. Sooooooo many horrible decisions. Ron Washington was great last year(s) for Texas, but he wasn't available this year........ damn managing job with the Angels.

    I agree with Chief. He was not running max effort after he got the stop sign. Then it was go. Why else would he be pissed at Watkins? He was pissed because of his signals changing, when he could have scored.

    Good thing they didn't bunt a run in with runners on second and third with no outs. That would have been a really embarrassing way to tie the game. I mean 1/5 to 1/over3 odds to get a hit, and way less against Sale today. A way better strategy.

    Our catchers sure like to call breaking stuff. Mostly what is getting drilled.

    I like his "The Twins haven't been helping the Atlanta starter out by swinging at his pitches out of the zone" Right. They don't swing at pitches in the zone, either, (especially close ones with 2 strikes).

    He doesn't do slumps. Just ask him.

    I love baseball. I find most of the time, it is more fun to watch games that the Twins aren't playing in, as you can relax, no tension, and enjoy the game. Something you, especially, might try. Probably good for your health. Mental health, for sure.

    KC is fun to watch. I love good baseball, and even if it isn't my favorite team, I love the game and like to watch play that is exciting and spirited. They have been a real blast to watch.

    And it is not just Julien. We watch guys on opposing teams swing at pitches out of the zone that they like (like Olson's 3-run homer off the plate inside) while our guys are infected with waiting for the perfect pitch. But even more than that. They often don't even offer at the perfect pitch, because they it is too early in the count. They are looking for walks and help from the umpire, that can never be counted on. I miss baseball where players wanted to drive a runner in more than walk.

    Hard to stay interested in this team, these days. Strangers and dumpster dives to watch. Sad end and sad start to the 2024 season. The team sure was fun in the weeks before the all star break, though. Just a couple weeks ago, the best record in MLB was 21 games over .500, and the Twins were at 17. Thiings sure get dark quick, when you lose so many games you had in the bag. This is perfect, regarding Tonkin, if you like comedy. "None of his four offerings misses bats the way you want a relief pitcher's out pitch to do so, and both versions of his fastball are a little underheated, sitting 91-94 and touching only a tick higher............ This is the kind of pickup the team has been craving......"

    Too bad Margot couldn't pinch hit, eh? All his numbers, except pinch hitting, show he is the guy, right Baldelli? May as well ignore the managing and go with the stat sheets again, and hope your batters learn to hit oppo arms ........ somewhere else, I guess. This team is sure choking big time. And it isn't even the playoffs. When they choke this bad, one tends to forget how horrible the umpire calls balls and strikes.

    If a fan is really honest with themselves, didn't you expect the team to panic and choke down the stretch? I mean, one hopes not, and wants the pen to be the best bullpen in MLB (especially the writers), but I really didn't think this wouldn't happen. So many ways they are just blowing games these last losses. Not just the pen (who are the worst in MLB lately). The plays in the field, the choices on the bases...... Hang on. The Royals are poised to pass this team again. Time to wake up, and for Correa to feel the pain and earn his money. Nick says this is an elite team. Really? Elite?

    Makes we wonder what it takes for the Margot ineptitude when pinch hitting overrides all the rest of the platoon left right BS Baldelli and FO is using to justify continuing to have him pinch hit. A MLB baseball manager would probably use his override at some point, like at least 15 opportunities ago.
