  1. BREAKING NEWS.........Wichita wins, Wichita wins, Wichita wins! Is there any word on when Lee and/or Jenkins is expected back? Also, how long before we could see Canterino or Prielipp on the mound?
  2. Thought that Wichita was going to be loaded this year, Seth. All those guys coming up from the Champion Kernels team, they should compete for the championship. Shouldn't they? 1-10 is a disastrous start. Your thoughts, Seth?
  3. Fantastic seeing another Badger here working for the Twins. Will she make the move to TV?
  4. Its tough watching games of the Twins or their minor league teams right now. Might help having Jenkins or Lee back, but it has been ugly.
  5. There are games they could have won. There are games they should have won. Today, they had the game won. Yes, "they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory." Although Jeffers is heating up, the only good hitter on the team is AK. Yet he is out of the game as soon as a leftie begins stretching in the bullpen.
  6. Don't know a lot about Cespedes, but the kid is having an incredible start to his season. See he is an International kid who has been around for a few years now. And kudos to Soto. Heck of a nice game for his second time out this year. Don't want to continue beating a dead horse, but ERod just keeps hitting'em out of the park.
  7. What an ugly night down on the farm. Ugly! With Correa likely headed to the IL, who is available to be called up? Suggestion. Why not add ERod to the 40-man and bring him up. No one else deserves it and who knows, he just may be that stud that is the real deal. Added to all the misery, both Lee and Jenkins are injured. Damn, Lee is missing the opportunity of a lifetime.
  8. Crazy looking at how hot the first four hitters are in Wichita's lineup. WOW! Also liked that Larnach got back in action, albeit at Fort Myers. Considering the struggles Wallner is having, Larnach sure has a chance to get hot and find himself back in left field for the Twins. Question, will he?
  9. Finally, a fun game to watch. Although he didn't do anything special today, remain impressed with Martin. Expect he just may be here to stay. And didn't Julien look a lot more like the young man we came to like last year? Gotta keep it going as they head to Detroit. Way to move up in the standings is beating the teams ahead of you.
  10. Gonna be interesting to see who leaves the Twins when Thielbar returns. Will Tonkin only be here for four or five games? Thought Rocco took Ober out an inning early on Monday and left Louie in an inning to long last night. Varland looked really sharp the first three innings. But against a team like the Dodgers our pitchers cannot have any let down. Gonna be really interesting to see whether Martin starts seeing a lot more time in left with Wallner on the bench. When Kep returns I expect the correct move will be Wallner to AAA with Martin staying in left. Guess the problem with that is that Martin doesn't fit well with the Twins, ie, he doesn't strike out enough.
  11. Glad to see Martin finally get a chance to play. What I don't understand is not playing AK. He is the hottest hitter on the team and if memory serves, didn't he have a couple good at bats against lefties this past week?
  12. Picked up the Saints game on the radio driving home from a late brunch. Was in the fourth inning, so I missed SWR's first three. Although it is tough knowing what is going on listening to the radio, sounded like most of the hits off SWR were not hit hard. Add Isola's misplay on one ball to left field didn't help. Is he being converted to an outfielder? Also thought that young Gardy left SWR in the game a few hitters longer than he should have. Hopefully, SWR will return to the pitcher he was in spring training and the first three innings yesterday next time out as he may soon be needed by the Twins. Otherwise yesterday seems to be a replay of Saturday with the best in the organization were Chourio and Rosario.
  13. Was tough watching Saturday’s game. Don’t know which was worse, the ump or Twins bats. If Rocco isn’t going to play Martin, they should flip him with Miranda. And if Julien can’t learn to swing at balls on the edge of the zone with two strikes, he needs to also move east of the river. In my opinion, Lee can’t get healthy soon enough.
  14. Had to check to see who this Chourio guy is. See he was acquired as part of the Arraez/Lopez trade. Could the Twins be so fortunate to get more out of that deal? I know his bomb was late in a game that was over several innings earlier, but isn't it great seeing Rosario pick up from where he was at late last year? Can this kid be part of the solution to the Twins corner outfield woes? Of Rosario, ERod, Gonzales and Jenkins, he seems to be the one who could be the first to arrive.
  15. We just can't enjoy having top prospects, can we? If my memory isn't totally gone, I recall that the pitcher in the movie "Summer Catch" was something Dunn? Don't think it was Ross, maybe Ryan? Will always remember seeing it two days after 9/11 in a theatre in Eden Prairie Mall with one other couple joining my wife and I. Forget her name, but that gal from up north who is married to what's his first name Timberlake looked so good in that movie. Don't like seeing only one W in four games, but isn't it fantastic to be able to read a complete report this morning? Thanks guys.
  16. Interesting. That's darn near $20,000,000. That's a heck of a lot of money. Really like them having five of the top 96 picks. Hopefully, they will get a couple good players from these two sources.
  17. Had been hoping he would streak thru the system and get a late callup to the Twins. Unfortunately, missing most of spring training and getting a late start to the season will limit him to spending time in AA with maybe a late call to the Saints.
  18. Ah, come Friday we can all sit back and begin following these young kids following their dreams. Baseball is back!
  19. Didn't get to read the entire post. But you already rained on my parade. Bah Humbug!!!
  20. Thanks, Nick. And isn't it great that we get to watch a meaningful baseball game this afternoon. One question. Do you know the corresponding 40-man roster move related to adding Duarte? Or did they have an open spot on the 40-man?
  21. Interesting read, thanks. Whenever I see Canterino's name I cringe and hope that he somehow can put all those injuries behind him. Did he get into only one game this spring? I recall his first outing was amazing. I don't care if it is in the pen or as a starter, I just want to see this young man pitching for the Twins. And that can be at any level because I know that if he gets a month or two on the mound early this year, he will end the year with the Twins. One question. This spring's injury isn't something major that will keep him out all year, is it?
  22. You said exactly what I was thinking Rod. And you said it much better than I would have, thanks.
  23. Your use of the "H" word is awfully strong. Add me to the list of those who view spring training as exhibitions that focus on getting each player ready for the season. Agree with the rule, 100%.
  24. Have believed since last fall that Ober can be a good #2. Although not flashy he is both steady and solid, game after game. Likewise expect Ryan to take another small step forward. Am excited, however, to see Ober take charge and be that next guy after Pablo.
