  1. Id bet its better than 50/50 that Hoffman is on the roster if a spot is available. Megill is headed to the saints because he has options and needs to work on his game. Moran should be a lock for the 26man. I think it comes down to having a 6 man SP rotation and I’m leaning that way.
  2. Great article! I have often wondered why this hasn’t been addressed sooner.
  3. Drafting an 18yo hs SS doesn’t exactly interfere with C4 and his probable hof career. The likely hood that 3 SP are drafted in the top 4 is basically nil and there are definitely 3 SP in the top 10 so just because the “experts” say that one of them is 8,9 or10 doesn’t mean that drafting him at 5 is a reach. Its no different than drafting Lee just because he fell to us means that the other teams didn’t pick future allstars. Clark may be future hof but nobody’s knows. It does seem prudent that getting in the top 5 is our best chance at getting an ace sp.
  4. Yes to both but after this season. They need to break the varsity locker room door down as well as knock the cover off the ball. Lee should fit well at 3rd, Lewis at 2nd and Julien as a super util/backup/DH in 2024. THe best part is that ownership is willing to pay for top notch talent.
  5. White will be the Saints fist basemen for the majority of 2023. Only a major injury will get him across the river.
  6. There is so much to choose from at #5. We absolutely will not be reaching as we have a pick at 34 and 49. Waldrep is the 3rd highest rated pitcher and has ace potential. The kid that I am highest on is Jacob Wilson, the son of Jack Wilson. He is another SS that has plus hit tools and stuck out only 7 times last SEASON. Its a very deep draft and we have thee best scouting director. Im confident that we will come away with 3 studs in the top 49.
  7. I can see Clark in the top 4 if he knocks the cover off the ball this spring. The twins need to draft pitching, pitching, pitching and a catcher. and then more pitching….
  8. and develop a #1 ace SP like say the next Frank Viola aka Connor Priellip.
  9. There is always a place in MLB for a big bat. He seems like the type of guy that will stick and rake when he gets the call up.
  10. This kid is special. Lights out this year and the FO should be paying him thru his age 32 season. Probably around 60-70M.
  11. He is gonna be just fine. Guys come out of the woodwork all the time. Pencil him in for a long, successful career.
  12. So last year, a short ST was the reason for everyone being on the IL. Sooooo now this year we are worried because the vets aren’t playing meaningless games….. head scratching.
  13. The only good thing about injuries, they heal up. Stop worrying.
  14. The FO asks Correa for player input on what he wants playing with him. Much like Tom Brady and AAron Rogers in the nfl.
  15. Its going to come from guys that stay healthy and have become a year older and wiser. Runs come easier when you arent looking up at a 2-4 run deficit in the 6th inning.
  16. Odds are that he will play 3rd for a couple years and play SS when Correa has a dayoff and Lee will switch to SS when Correa is ready to move to 3rd.
  17. The Varsity team hasn’t looked this good in years with Lee and co. coming up soon. What a great time to be a twins fan!!
  18. Its nice to see the twins stacked with depth on the 40 man as well as trying to squeeze 29 guys onto a 26 man roster. The biggest questions seem to be in the bullpen and why didn’t Pagan go to driveline to learn how to pitch instead of throw gopher balls?
  19. If his bat is .300/.400/.500 in MLB, you can play him anywhere but SS and CF no matter who is pitching or the day of the week.
  20. I expect the top 3 on your list to make the opening day roster in 2025. I’m gonna say the #1 prospect in 2025 is going to be the 5th pick in the first round of the 2023 amateur draft.
  21. The potential earning power of RL if he becomes a star could be written into the contract so his value is paid out appropriately. I like the framework of what you have but lacks the incentive $$ that could pay him what he is worth. For example 500PA add $1M .300BA add $1M….. the list of incentives could be long and lucrative.
  22. I’m looking forward to Lewis getting off this list and establishing himself in the lineup for 150+games! He is overdue for some healthy seasons. Long term he would look great on the hot corner!!
  23. Interesting numbers indeed. Anyone know if those stats are tracked at the milb level? Positive regression would be a welcome scenario after all the health related issues since 2019.
  24. How about play a guy that has 794 milb ab, .283 ba, 35 hr, 53 sb and a career .922 OPS. Lets not look backwards. I’d rather take the bumps of a rookie learning a new position.
