  1. For 2024 and his brand new arm, his realistic inning total will be 60-80 most likely inAAA as a starter. If he is dominant, and gets into the 6th or 7th inning in May, he probably will be a call up for some spot starts this season but I would think this spring they will have a pitch limit on him. He is entering his 26yo season so its too early to send him to the bullpen. Stretch him out because his ceiling should still be viewed as a 2-3 SP thru age 33 or so. There are alot of ways his career can go, I’m hoping his new arm will be lights out by 2025. Same with Enlow! Just imagine if Jordan B. hops on that same train.
  2. @Otaknam I think that they will let pitchers go 7 if they are capable of it. Many young arms are getting blown up so they try to be careful. I really liked how the Rangers handled their pitching staff in the postseason this year. They rode the arms of the guys that were dialed in. Not necessarily the guys that are historically the best on their team through out the season. Evoldi was spectacular as he should be tho.
  3. That’s weird to judge a kid’s future based on something unrelated to him. Understand that a certain percentage do flame out for every team but geez, that’s negative.
  4. That would be great for the team and us fans but I would be salty about Lee getting traded.
  5. Tyler Mahle was not an excellent trade. There are probably a half dozen more going back 15 years that sucked as well. I do agree that FA signings are expensive which is why I advocate for homegrown drafting/development of pitching.
  6. There is room on the roster in 2025 for all the youngsters.
  7. @TopGunn#22 with Lee in MLB in April 24, he also bring an additional 1st round draft pick on top of everything else he will do in our lineup. Even if Polo isn’t traded, we still need at least 4 regulars to play 2nd, SS and 3rd in a rotation of matchups and rest days. I haven’t read anyone in this thread talk about Lee’s college career and how that put him on a fast track for MLB. He is not an average 22 yo prospect that needs another year or 2 in the minors. The reason I compared him to ECarter was because of how he wasn’t called up until September. The kid is clutch!! I can only imagine what he would have done had he been a MLB’r in May or June. I doubt he would have crashed and burned.
  8. Why would we continue to trade away developing talent that will be a foundation for the next decade? You want another #1/2 SP? Go buy one in free agency. If Erod tears up AA and AAA in 24/25 we literally will have the best outfield for the next decade with him, wallner and WJ. 3 potential perennial all stars with a gimpy buck as the 4th OF. Sure he has trade value, if you don’t want to build a decade long OF dynasty….
  9. Carmargo should be on the 40 man! I would absolutely sign Enlow to a minor league deal and make sure he understands that when he is ready, he will get his shot in MLB. We never have enough pitching! I’m sure their are a couple more exciting prospects that will be added to the 40 man for rule 5 protection. It seems like the list of MLB free agents to be is a bit blah this offseason.
  10. I agree. Who is the 5th outfielder and IF AK isn't ready for April, who fills 1st? IF healthy, will AK be used in the corner OF if necessary? Lots of questions to be answered by 4/1.
  11. I never said Lee would be a back up infielder. He will probably be starting at 2nd, platooning at SS with C4 and 3rd with Lewis if he can handle it. If his bat plays in MLB, he will be in the lineup for 120+ games. His defense will get better with age. Juliens D is better now than it was a year ago. Bat first prospects generally get an early chance at the varsity. Polanco played his first game at 20yo but wasn’t a regular until he was 22. A lot of people on here think that development is best in the minors, thats not always the case. He already has tools to beat out Polo and Julien for a starting spot.
  12. @FlyingFinn @DocBauer @chpettit19 as much as I want to see polo at 2nd, he is getting old and wont play more than 80-100 games there in 2024. Is AK gonna be full go opening day? IDK so if the best infield includes AK, Julien, C4, Lewis, Polo, Lee. You have 6 guys filling up 4 spots, 5 with the rotating DH. Buxton will either be in CF or on the IL. because thats where he belongs. So now you have Buck, Castro, Wallner, Kepler in the outfield. 2 catchers. Is there still room for Farmer? IDK.
  13. @Jocko87 yeah, I’m all about not fielding a team thats too young or too old. I look at the two teams still standing and they have a great mix of vets and young studs that are hungry and don’t care what past teams in their organization have failed at. I see the Twins as one step behind them and that will be made up with our farm guys coming up over the next 2-3 years …. I see Lee as mature beyond his age of 22. Sure he has a lot to work on, every playerthat age does but Im not seeing a guy like Farmer or Gordon standing in his way. We need at least 6 guys to fill out the infield roster. Lee will be one of them in 2024.
  14. @jmlease1 this is what I was referring to. and other speculation back then. The 2 ACL’s rendered the possible manipulation mute.
  15. That extra 1st round pick could be gold. I doubt that all of Farmer/Polanco/Kepler will be back. Out of the 3, I would guess that Polo will be here and be a back up infielder/DH. I am very confident that Lee will win a roster spot and not just have it handed to him. I’m not sure what's gonna happen to Farmer but he isn't a long term answer to anything other than a great veteran fill in player.
  16. @Jocko87 here is a quick comparison of Lee and some september call up playing in the World Series… last name Carter. They run on a similar track. Some players just have what it takes to play this game we love.
  17. Castro is massively valuable to this team. He literally opens up the roster to take a chance on a young star that would normally get stuck in the minors because we would need a 5th outfielder and a 7th infielder. He has that all covered in spades. It also allows us to move on from weak hitters in the 9th spot.
  18. I would be surprised if Lee isn’t in the opening day Twins lineup. He has a great shot at being ROY 2024 but I understand the business of manipulating service time so he will be most likely on the varsity later in May. I remember not long ago how Lewis’s service time was manipulated as well.
  19. Its quite possible this trio will bounce back in 2024 in a big way. Career progression is never linear or so I’ve heard ….
  20. All it will take for him to climb to the big show is to produce, make adjustments, and hone his skillset. It really doesn’t matter what age the calendar says he is. When he is ready to hit MLB, the Twins will gladly let him roam CF. As fans, we wont be waiting long because he looks like the next Ken Griffey Jr. 2025 is going to be epic if Buxton is the 4th outfielder.
  21. We NEVER have enough pitchers. Trading for a #1 or #2 would be great but not at the expense of trading our best pitching prospects. I’m still salty that Chase Petty is no longer a Twin.
  22. It would be great to see him pitch 60-90 inning on the varsity in 2024. With being almost 2 years since surgery, he should be a full go by mid season, ramped up and making hitters look bad. Everyone is wondering how the Twins will deal with roster turnover from 2023. I believe it will be mostly home grown and trusting the young studs to step up a be above average MLB’rs.
  23. Its sad that anyone can get live streamed anything from across the world but we can’t get local sports streaming. How can major league franchises not have the ability to show their product to the world in real time. It really shouldn’t be this difficult.
