If I had to vote/guess today, I could absolutely see Canterino and Staumont playing major parts. The rest are all more hope to me (not that Canterino and Staumont aren’t). If any of the others contribute, great! But I could see most of them in another organization at some point too
I love Julien. But getting a pitcher like Burnes would arguably give the Twins the best rotation in the American League, no? You take that opportunity once in a while right?
Not saying I want to get rid of Julien. But if the twins can get Burnes, you do it
I’d be open to Montgomery too, it just seems that the trade route is the way they are headed. And if it isn’t Burnes, they will get something done.
The only part that sucks is that, as a fan, we are all so used to what the offseason used to be like even 5 years ago, so it FEELS like they have run out of time already. That just isn’t the case.
I’d be SHOCKED if Wallner were to go back to Saint Paul. SHOCKED.
And why would a team carry a 4th outfielder that hits left handed when 2/3 of the outfield (Wallner and Kepler) also hit left handed?
And Castro as the starting lf? Seriously?
So I wasn’t able to make it to winter meltdown this year.
I wanted to start a thread just for people to be able to respond and describe what the experience was like and what happened at the event. I imagine a fun time was had by all.
Thanks for any comments/responses about the event in advance
I apologize if I misstated it, but he did say he was told that he would get a lot of work at 1b too, but getting grounders in (due to not being as able to growing up in Quebec) is a focus. He did close that thought by saying he would play anywhere on the field if it helps the team win.
I don’t know about that. Julien can still play 2b, or Lee, or Martin, or Farmer. Polanco (if he isn’t traded) could also be 2b/1b/dh right? Julien said it too, it’s a lot to do with matchups.
During the interview portion yesterday, Julien said he has been told he will be playing a lot of 1b this year. I don’t know what to make of that information, but I kind of like it.
Just curious, if you have Castro AND Gordon on your opening day bench, who else do you have there? To me, it’s hard to find a roster spot for Gordon, but I could be wrong
See, the first thing I thought of Will Ferrell's commercials he did for Busch Light years ago, so I googled it. I was wrong, they were for Old Milwaukee, but still, that's where my head went.
Just to share, they are funny to me...
Twins sign Caleb Boushley to minor league deal. Had a cup of coffee up with the Brewers at the end of 2023, sounds like he is assigned to AAA St. Paul

I'm not sure I can agree with saying that Cleveland "has enough offense." I mean, will there by 5 teams in baseball (Oakland not withstanding) that will have a worse lineup? I'm not certain.
But their pitching should be really good once again.
The Tigers run differential was -79, which equates to more of a 73 win season. Luck played a part.
The Twins run differential was +119, which equates to more like a 94 win season. Luck also played a part.
Getting Correa healthy (and not having plantar fascitis) along with Buxton able to play will arguably help more than any addition otherwise, no? Possibly add Miranda into that too.
The Twins will be fine.
