    He is an athlete, and he has mostly played cf and 2b at St. Paul. I'd imagine if he can play CF, he can handle a corner spot well. I'm not certain if he was taken out of cf late in games, but I'd be surprised.

    I hope Kirilloff can stay healthy, but as of now I can't start him defensively over Santana at 1B. I am leaning toward Kirilloff being the primary dh, certainly against righties, as Santana has a good glove. Here is what I would do, and not in batting order, just position order (this is all subject to change if they add another bat, and of course, depending on health.) Against righties C Jeffers 1B Santana (but maybe Miranda is here?) 2B Julien SS Correa 3B Lewis LF Wallner CF Buxton RF Kepler DH Kirilloff Against lefties C Vazquez 1B Santana 2B Farmer SS Correa 3B Lewis LF Castro CF Buxton RF Kepler (or Martin? Or a different right handed bat?) DH Miranda (is he healthy?) I mean, perfect world they sign Bellinger to be the primary 1B against righties and the CF or corner outfielder against lefties. But that's not happening.

    Why is Gordon a better dh option against righties than either Julien or Kirilloff? And that's WITH Buxton being healthy to play in center. Anyway, not hating on Gordon. It's very much a numbers game.

    You don’t think an injury, being traded, and missing a college season with the pandemic had anything to do with it? Seriously though, what role does Gordon play on this team? I’m not hating on him, he is a major league player. I’m just struggling to find his role. Duvall, he is also fine, I guess.

    Yeah, but Martin will be 25 in March. It's not like he is 19 anymore.

    Love it! I wish someone could explain to me, like I'm 5, why he isn't the ideal 4th outfielder/backup 2b at minimum? He doesn't strike out, he gets on base, he has speed (and is VERY GOOD at stealing bases.) Why does adding a Adam Duvall improve the team MORE than just using Martin? His power has been good, but his strikeout rate is also north of 30%. They have enough other hitters who already have high strikeout rates. I also don't see why Nick Gordon is listed ahead of him still. Nothing against Nick, I just see Martin bringing more to the table for the 2024 team.

    I know it's probably not likely, but IF they are going to add a right handed bat, and/or (my hope) a playoff level starter, maybe that is why the holdup is for announcing Santana and Jackson? Is it POSSIBLE they are talking about trading a few 40 man roster guys in a move to bring in a starter?

    Not Lewis or Jenkins. I think any of the others would be available based on the return.

    #1, I know a team that has been very good about helping to add velo. #2 It will be very interesting to see what he looks like this spring. IF his velo has spiked a little (even to more 93-94 instead of 90-92) then I do think we might have something here.

    100% count me in his camp. Hard to peg where he falls, but he absolutely has the potential to be a quality major league starter.

    Hard to say. I keep seeing the narrative that the AL central is AGAIN the worst division in baseball. I don't know that I can clearly say that anymore (which is a good thing.) The floor for both KC and Detroit is raised from last year (and even if they both significantly improve, are either of them .500 teams? I don't know.) I certainly am not losing too much sleep over the guys they have spent money on. That said, I'm certainly happy for their fanbases. They have a higher floor than last year, both teams, and should be fun to have competition this season. Still hoping for a playoff level starter to add to the rotation, but mabye that's an in season thing?

    I have a hard time putting too much emphasis on 50 innings for Ragans. He had a good run last year, but he has to show it. Skubal I could see. Hopefully he can have a fully healthy season. Ill take Lopez

    I'm curious what role you have Larnach playing on the bench? It seems to me he would do well to rake for a while in a full time role at AAA, and be ready when an injury comes along. I do still think another outfielder is brought in, probably a right handed hitter. Also, the bullpen will be interesting to see how it plays out. I know you have Alcala in there, but Staumont and Funderburk, and possibly Canterino among others, would seem to have a place depending on how it shakes out. That said, I can totally see a revolving door between the bullpen and St. Paul for a lot of the season once again. I still expect a different playoff level starter to be added, but maybe that's in season? We'll see.

    What if Buxton is actually healthy though? I will say, I have more faith in Castro and Martin, but I get where you are coming from. Is there someone you want them to bring in?

    Add a high impact starter, as was their stated goal, and continue to augment when possible. I know it’s not at all probable or realistic, but I would love a move for Bellinger. Primary 1b, good backup for cf, and he is still available. If they got him (I know, don’t laugh) it would be easier to center a trade package for a starter around either Lee or Julien right? And it’s hard to count on Kirilloff, so I’d go that route. Not my money, right? :)
