  1. With the injuries to some of the bullpen guys, I don't know that we need to make the decision before opening day on if he is still on the roster or not. I'd be fine with having him be only the mop up guy for the first month or so and see if things improve. It's not like they can't find another mop up type arm at AAA or on the free agent market in early May.
  2. I could also see a scenario where Royce is able to be 3b, but maybe he does start to play 1b at some point. Keaschall is on his way, and we will see what position he can take a hold of. It’s always possible that Lee becomes the super utility next year that Castro is this year, a full time player at 3b/ss/2b. But if any of them can take a spot and fully own it, great. It feels like a good problem to have
  3. They have so many young guys who have talent and need to take advantage of this opportunity. If Lee goes out and earns a full time spot at either 2b or 3b, that’s a win
  4. Wish him well. That has to be beyond frustrating.
  5. I think they are right where you are thinking, in that 6-10 range. And it's obvious to me. Maybe just as much for the depth of the rotation as much as the playoff level starters. Like, no one is at the Dodgers level (on paper.) Phillies, Atlanta and Seattle are also clearly better. Arizona, both Burnes and Gallen very much could be in a tier that Pablo and Ryan have shown to be already (I'd take good Pablo over Burnes, probably not over peak Gallen) but after that I do think Boston is a little underrated, KC a bit overrated (I like Seth Lugo, I don't think he has another career year in him, and behind Ragans and he the rest of that rotation is average at best) and who knows if the Padres will have all of their starters even still at opening day. Texas, if everyone stays healthy also looks great, but Tyler Mahle already is being shut down, and it's hard to count on even 1/2 a season from DeGrom, but if he is fully healthy their rotation is also underrated. Anyway, I'd have Twins firmly in that 6-10 range like you said. Hard to put them in the top 5.
  6. That tells me that Julien doesn't make the team then. And I'm ok with that if that's the case. I also think there is a real chance that Brooks Lee gets the 2B nod and keeps Castro as utility. But for one game only, for opening day, this makes a ton of sense too.
  7. Julien is Canadian after all. I felt like that was the reason for them connecting with him. Still, their broadcast team is one of the better I've heard this spring.
  8. I wouldn't do anything now pre-season. But if health is good for the first few months, I would very much be aggressive before the trade deadline. EDIT: Came back to add, I would listen if it is something that would help the 2025 team. I would not be inclined to trade pitching for a prospect return right now. I don't know what that means, other than I would love a middle of the order type bat.
  9. I’ll go with Nick Blackburn.
  10. I wonder if anyone else gets hurt in the next bit if they reach out to David Robertson. He would certainly help here
  11. Hopefully at most it's a minor thing. Thanks for passing this along
  12. If I truly played mlb the show at all, then absolutely. Real life, we'll see. Mostly I hope he can be as healthy as possible come September/October.
  13. I more meant I don't see any of Zebby or Festa or SWR making 20 healthy starts at AAA this year. If I am wrong, that probably means the team is doing really well.
  14. You are assuming an awful lot of health for everyone in the rotation. That wouldn't be a bad thing necessarily.
  15. Any word on when Joe Ryan will pitch in his first spring game? Hard to give up on depth if Ryan isn't ready to be pitching opening day.
  16. Healthy Buxton, Correa and Lewis will easily mitigate this potential issue
  17. If the depth is all still mostly healthy come July, I’d have to imagine a move or two will be there for the deadline too
  18. He certainly FEELS like a bat that we will be happy to have around. Excited to see his 2025 season!
  19. If things aren't going swimmingly there through the first 3 months of the season or so, I have to imagine that 1B could be an easy target for a trade addition prior to the July deadline. Don't know who that means, but a starter quality 1B should be easier to acquire than some other positions. Here's hoping that they have enough quality at 1B, and keep the remainder of the team healthy, for as long as possible.
  20. Is this not something where once someone guesses the answer and the chain ends right? I have to think Jacque Jones is the answer now, But since we don’t have closure I’m curious if we still have to keep guessing
  21. Jamie also wrote a pretty great article recently breaking down the 1st round catcher options he mentioned here for the mlb draft this July. Just wanting to share https://www.justbaseball.com/mlb/2025-mlb-draft-deep-dive-evaluating-college-catchers/
