  1. Several ex-Twins on the move at the trade deadline: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/padres-acquire-martin-perez.html https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/nationals-trade-dylan-floro-dbacks.html https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/mariners-acquire-jt-chargois.html
  2. Wallner has done very well since his return. Plouffe referred to him as a "moose" a couple of times this weekend, is he simulating moose antler when he rounds third on a home run?
  3. Reese McGuire? LHH and decent defensive credentials. No minor league options though. If Jeffers is indeed affected by injury, perhaps they could claim him and put #27 on the IL.
  4. I’m seeing little chance of a major move—maybe a bullpen arm. I think it’s more likely someone who was DFA’d than someone the Twins will have to give up value for.
  5. If Edouard Julien was hitting like he did last year, he’d be batting lead off for the Twins (against right handed starters). Agree his defense isn’t great, but it is adequate. The hitting has fallen off dramatically.
  6. Everyone knew it would be a bullpen game with a mixture of left and right handed pitchers for Detroit. I have been saying for a while now Rocco and the coaches seem far more comfortable with right handed hitters facing right handed pitchers than lefty hitters facing lefty pitchers.
  7. Good to see Castro get some hits. Currently, I don't have much confidence in Jeffers, Lee and Kepler. If one of those guys could go on a heater, the lineup would look a lot longer. The graph for Ober has headed north since he got roughed up by the Royals the second time, Pablo really since the three-city road trip, while Ryan hasn't been quite as good his last couple times out. The overall numbers from the rotation are middle-of-the-pack, but trending the right way.
  8. The Twins will have to take care of business themselves. If they win six or seven of the eight with the Guards, they'll win the Central. They are behind because they are 0-5 vs. Cleveland.
  9. 0-8 with RiSP, but two sacrifice flies.
  10. Especially since the BP has struggled recently.
  11. 3-3 for Margot. Get him over, get him in.
  12. Does Willi get credit for a start at third base? And does he get credit for a game played at second?
  13. Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but are Lewis and Buxton both okay physically? The rest pattern for Buck seems to have worked so far and Lewis is just off the IL, but I thought Royce looked a little gimpy running out his double in the late innings.
  14. Maybe, but Kirilloff has been on the IL for over a month already and he can stay on the IL while rehabbing, so my best guess is that Kirilloff will be moved to the 60-day list. Pitchers get 30 days maximum on rehab, so Topa has quite a bit of time to rehab, if necessary. He started his rehab on the 23rd of July.
  15. Duarte, Winder and Headrick are all making minimum salary or close to it. Dropping them for salary relief doesn't make much sense. If you are discussing making room on the 40-man roster, Duarte isn't on it (60-day IL).
  16. Headrick is on the minor league 60-day IL and is taking a spot on the 40-man roster.
  17. I don’t think Lee will ever grade out as having plus range, but Correa probably doesn’t either. Correa makes up for lack of foot speed with a big body and long reach and taking great angles to balls.
  18. Must be pretty humid. Ryan and Santana are already sweating through their uniforms.
  19. Time for the Twins to rise to the occasion—the Twins face an elite pitcher on the road. The right handed hitters need to peck away at Skubal, maybe getting him out after six innings, and Ryan needs to hold down the Kitties.
