  1. Rosario does well to sneak back into second base there.
  2. Nice scamper, as Dick termed it, by Adrianza to snag a liner.
  3. I can tell you, in all seriousness, that the moderators are most assuredly not. A few TD members have already been given a word to the wise.
  4. Very heads-up baserunning by Rosario (and/or basecoaching by Smith) on that double. Although, Altuve was pretty slow getting up after that dive - I won't take anything away from him on that, since it might have shaken him up for a little moment, but had he popped to his feet faster he would have given Eddie a little more to think (legitmately or not) about when rounding first.
  5. The United States House Committee on Oversight will need to not have a look into this.
  6. The moderators will be the judge of that.
  7. Some bakers get creative. http://www.cafe-future.net/news/pics/13492-org.jpg
  8. The New York Times has picked up your scoop, and backdated it with a year 2009 byline and inserted Carl's name instead. With prudent investment, Jim should have grown his inherited portion to approximately 14 trillion dollars in the intervening time, or not quite enough to pay off the US national debt. I'm going to stick my neck out and guess that the Cubs also did better in one half of that season than in the other. It's a long season.
  9. I checked again and, perhaps more importantly, you can outright a player (as I believe was the case for Melo) only once without his permission. The second time, in the example I tried, he has the right to choose free agency. That would put a real limit on a team's aspirations to move a player on and off the 40. Never mind.
  10. He cleared waivers, which I think are good for the rest of the season. He could be added to the 40-man anytime it's convenient, and then removed if they want to send him back down again. I think.
  11. Crowhops are hair-pullingly maddening but fixable. Arm strength can be more of a limiting factor but can often be improved. It's the elite quick-twitch reflexes and instant acceleration toward the ball that pretty much either is there or it isn't. If he's not getting to balls, that's a bad sign.
  12. Prepare to be surprised.
  13. I'm already embarrassed enough about the ridiculous amount of time I play this game*, so I would never compound the problem by entering an online league. * Currently in remission, and have been clean for approximately 5 weeks. One Day At A Time!
  14. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/48/487b9f4004b9553d83bbd04dc9a0b4f1697aae12b15575c9b33a048bc2820ff6.jpg
  15. Not too shaggy, i.e. exactly shaggy enough: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/images/players/head_shot/608638.jpg
  16. I had a heart attack and died from each of Nik Turley's starts. Fortunately I got better.
  17. I'm more confused than clarified. Rowson seems to simply contradict what Buxton stated. “Putting it on the ground more to get it out of the air." Buxton restated that intent at least a couple different ways in that paragraph."No, the goal is not to hit balls on the ground. The goal is going to be to use the whole field and hit balls hard.” Rowson said that a couple of different ways too.
  18. It's odd that I don't recall ever seeing Byron Buxton interviewed before. He's super poised in this one. Not fidgety like a lot of athletes are.
  19. Some antenna out in the middle of nowhere 40 miles from Fargo. It's a Fargo must-see, or so the guidebooks told us at the time.
  20. I am embarrassed that I thought Dozier took a step toward the runner coming in from first, and was thus the goat. The video shows he did the right thing all the way. The run's on Castro, though it looks like it should have been possible to make the play some way or another. Two mediocre arms adding up to a split second too slow?
