    Totally agree. But speaking of Odo's high fastballs, during his last start I got the impression that he barely threw it. Was that just my imagination or doesn't he throw them that often anymore?

    I am all for respecting the game and some of the unwritten rules have their merits but I don't understand this one. Tatis gets a good pitch and is supposed to take it because it's a 3-0 count? Hitting a home run when you're given the chance (in a game that isn't entirely out of reach) isn't what I would call showing up your opponent.

    I'm speechless. If you don't want a 3-0 pitch hit for a grand slam, pitch better. Instead of letting a fastball hang in the zone like an invitation. Rangers just sound like bad losers. And I sincerely hope that Tatis doesn't "learn" from this.

    As you mention it, I found it very curious that Keith Law was so dismissive of Marco Raya, calling his delivery max-effort. All I have heard from the Twins officials are praises of said delivery. There seems to be a really big gap in their perception of him. But of our picks I am most excited about Raya, too. The high spin rates, four pitch mix and easy delivery (will believe the Twins on that one) seem all very promising to me. And since he is not throwing triple digits at least the risk of needing TJ surgery is less.

    No. Cavaco is born in 2001. And maybe some other guys from last year.

    Well, on some lists Meyer was higher. Keith Law of the Athletic had him fourth. But Kjerstad I have never seen that high. My first thougth was: WHAT? Most mocks seemed to agree that Torkelson, Martin and Lacy were the top three.

    I think the shortened (hopefully not canceled) season has made it far less likely that Rosario is traded. If the season had taken place as usual we might have had an opportunity to see Larnach and Kirilloff at major league level and could have gotten a fair impression of how they're coping. But now... As high as the hopes are for these two, I really do not like the idea of trading a good major leaguer like Rosario and depending on two well regarded but untested prospects in the middle of contention. As for Jake Cave, he is good as a fourth outfielder but he is also not what I would like in the regular lineup as long as the Twins compete for the World Series. At the same time the Twins don't need to do an immediate trade to get a look at the prospects. As much as we would like to see our regulars play in 150 games there will always be injuries etc. and thus a lot of playing time available. Let the prospects have it. If one of them starts hitting .300 with a bunch of bombas you can still make a trade.

    Thanks for the article! I really enjoyed reading from the perspective of another Twins fan from abroad. I'm a Twins fan from Hamburg, Germany. I only discovered baseball in the summer of 2018 when I subscribed to a sports streaming service, originally to watch soccer games. But they also had some MLB games which I stumbled upon. Until then, I really didn't know anything about baseball but as I watched the same player throwing ball after ball and (seemingly) nothing happened I developed the ambition to at least get a basic understanding of the game. So I absorbed everything I could about it and really came to like baseball. And since I have never been to the US and had no connection to any city or team I thought that I might as well choose the team with the only German player in the Majors. Go Twins!
