    Hope Correa isn't hurt but that's the only reason I see for not playing him. Playing LAD is like a PS game and Correa is the only one who get's up for those games. Not playing Correa and playing Polanco at SS and Arraez at 2B is like telling LAD "I'm giving you this one".

    Arraez most definitely deserves to play every day with his bat. If Sanchez hadn't came to MN, I'd say Arraez would be our main DH. Arraez would be a very good 1B if he was a little taller but yet I've advocated for him to play there and was happy that Baldelli said he was willing to give a shot there. The problem is we have an over abundance of MLB ready and soon to be players that plays the postions he plays. Right now being a LH hitter he should get the lion share at 3B, IMO he should spent more at DH and given a shot at 1B if he had more time at ST. Arraez shouldn't play 2B, there more than enough players that play there better than him. I'm afraid that with his knee problems and promising prospects coming up, I see him playing less and not more unless they trade Sanchez and or Urshela,

    I'm an advocate for fairness so I'm an advocate for computerized strike calling. With covid 2020 people were very careful and went great lengths for social distancing yet people fought against robo umps and won (even though for health reasons it made sense to distant home umps from the catchers) because there were players & teams who benefit from the old way. I like computerized strike zone because it standarizes the zone so pitchers and hitters know exactly what to expect, eliminates human error & bias and promotes fairness.

    I was hoping to see Winder pitch before now. But today would be an excellent day to have Winder piggy-back Archer. I expect Archer to pitch 3 innings and Winder to pitch at least 4 innings. Pitching against the Dodgers will be a challenge but the Dodgers are more vunerable early in the season and the colder MN weather could tip it in our favor.

    Happy that our prospects are doing so well. Looking forward to call up of Lewis (& others) sometime this season. Once Miranda regroup from being sent down he'll come back with a vengeance. Don't understand why they didn't continue their orignal plan of Martin playing in CF where he's better suited instead of pressing him to adjust to SS. Once they switch him back to CF he'll come around. Exciting times

    We have some really great prospects, the 3 you mentioned are 3 of my favorites. Miranda must've had the wind let go from his sails when he got sent down but he'll come back. Expect great things from Martin and a lot of our pitching prospects, My radar is also on Noah Miller and E Rod

    The breaking loose of that bats log jam was all we needed. I loved how Baldelli used his long relief in game 1 but in game 2&3 he has gone back to his old ways of using only short relief in every BP situation. After Ober was an ideal time to use Winder to get his feet wet & see what he has but Baldelli reverted to his image of himself as a chess master using only short relief & left Winder wanting. I'd like to see Baldelli develope a SP + long relief + short relief formula, keeping the rotation & short relief fresh throughout the season (Not having them burn out like prior seasons.) and giving long relief opportunity to prove themselves. P.S. I followed the Twins via Game Day so I couldn't really see how well Pagan pitched, he seemed fine.

    Encarnacion-Strand is seeing the ball super well being able to hit any pitch even outside the zone. Always had faith in Lewis, so happy he's proving me right so soon. It's great to see such great performances from our prospects and the rise of their stock. Twins future looks very bright.

    I really like our prospects in AAA, AA and low A, I'm not as high on high A. I'm with you in Lewis and Woods as break outs but I'm higher on N. Miller and E Rod than Hajjar. But great article.

    I really like our long relief, Alcala and Duran can be used some in high leverage. Duffy is OK but not as closer. I miss Rogers already. Trading away Rogers isn't being competitive. If we had Rogers today we would have had a win.

    The cold damp air favored the pitching, a slightly warmer & drier day it could've been a different story. Also DET pulled off an upset over CWS, great to see Meadows hit a 2 out triple with Baez getting an extra base walk off

    Great game! great pitching effort by the Twins especially the BP. Unfortunately Seatle's pitching was a little bit better. Encouraged by the performance, GO TWINS!

    I'm with you Terry! I can really see these 3 feeding off each other. I expect great thing from them, it'll be very exciting to watch. I remember Puckett, Hrbek and Gaetti how great they were. And they surprised a lot of people when they went from worst to best. I expected them to make this list. And of course Killebrew, Oliva and Allison (1965 Versalles) made quite a trio.

    I've always liked Palacio as a SS prospect that could field & hit. Funny thing is after he left the Twins he lost his bat but now that he has returned to the Twins he has found it. I thought he should have been given more of a chance this spring to prove himself.

    I like the trade in that they traded Brent Rooker, trade from an area we have an over abundance (bat/ no glove). I didn't like the trade because it involved Taylor Rogers. Unless the Twins offered him a reasonable extention offer and he turned it down and he was dead set to walk, I'd say it was a good deal, but my impression is they did not, I'd place Rogers close to Pressley, closer is a position of importance and need. Rogers gave us some security there and we traded him away for 2 ?s at positions we had covered! At face value it was a good trade but looking at a place of need we lost, instead of shoring up areas of need, they downgraded the closing position.

    Thanks Mathew for this interesting article. Rating is very difficult because a lot of the values are rated on projected performance and we have so many ?s. We look at a player's upside and project how far they can acheive it this season and also look at their positions and the impact they'll have on the team. Rating by groupings is a good way to do it. I agree with your 1st 2 grouping. The 3rd grouping I'd have is rotation. Rotation is very important but there is a lot of ?s, many have high hopes in our young arms Ryan and Ober but they are unproven, Pallack and Bundy has shown some promise but lost it and Archer who's working himself back from injury. I and many project Ryan, Ober, Pallack and Bundy as middle rotation at best in their careers. Archer has been projected as an ace before he went to PIT and injury and now that that time is behind him and with the help of Wes Johnson and maybe Johan Santana he can acheive that projection. It's a matter of getting his endurance and sharpness back but because of my projection I'd rate him at #9. Sanchez is a DH not a legit catcher so I'd rate him lower and Jeffers higher. I'd rate Stashack much lower. I'd put Gordon, Celestino, Larnach Miranda and Lewis in the same group as subs and rate Gordon highest in that group not because of his projection (which will be lowest) but what he'll actually contribute.

    My question is how Baldelli will manage this season? How much will he adhere to the piggy-back system? Will Paddack pitch in the rotation? Since the trade who will be the odd man out, to long relief? In my mind there is no doubt that when Archer turns it around he should absolutely be kept around because of his upside and our need for experienced pitching. If he's traded, I'd really question this FO's vision. I guess they'll have 6 man rotation for awhile. 1 question answered.

    All I can say is maybe they think they can maximize both Paddock and Passan potentials. In that case we could come out way ahead in this trade. Maybe Tingler knows something we don't. And maybe they are trying to veer from relying so heavily on a closer Now they need to focus on a 4th OF, Garlick is definitely not it!

    Nope. I have over estimated this FO but I really like the trade they came up with. It's a lesser trade than I hoped but I think we came up with more than what we lost. Of course it's tough to give up Taylor but hopefully Paddock can take that next step

    Love that photo of Buxton, Cody, he's so focused and having his other hand ready to cover the ball. OFers now days get a little sloppy on defense, Buxton doesn't. I'm with you that Buxton & Correa will both be healthy and compete for the MVP and be Gold Glovers but I'd also like to add Polanco to that list. Roger, I too would hate to see Kepler go. I think he's better suited in LF where he's needed. I hope he adjust his swing and start getting hits, otherwise in RF the demand for a glove is less and Kiriloff or Larnach could man there. Maeda should be back at the of the season but by the time he gets back in shape he'll be a nonfactor. I also predict the Twins could win their division, finally win a post season game and the rotation could pleasantly surprise a lot of people, But these predictions are conditional based on #1 how strong the long relief is and how well they are managed, A strong long relief could keep the rotation and short relief strong and fresh throughout the season. How to do this? Have a large body of pitchers in this role having them rotating in & out playing the hot hands and be quick to put them in, #2 have a MLB proven CFer to back up Buxton. We have lost too many games gambling on the health of Buxton and misevaluating the gap that we have there. Solutions? Best solution is to trade for 1 or next sign a FA. Waiting to see if Celestino and or Martin take the next step, Gordon has done very well adapting to the OF, I like how he has progressed in his hitting and fielding but here we can't underestimate experience. These 2 conditions IMO are main reasons the Twins haven't progressed to or in the post season for these many years. In contrast, TB don't even come close to have the line up that we have but what makes them competitors is that they have a strong & deep middle fielders and they have a strong long relief corp to keep their rotation & short relief fresh & strong.

    I am hoping that this is a ploy to shake loose Montas. IMO the Twins may have the best offer for Montas and if OAK thinks we are looking somewhere else they could finally wake up. Could this really be? I hope so.

    Don't like it and if you want Archer in the pen, he's not used to it & doesn't fair as well there. Bad choice. Don't want to lose Larnach or Taylor for these 2, hope it doesn't go through. There has to be something better. I'd give up Larnach for Montas or Lopez but not Paddock or Gore

    I'm not crazy about Paddock especially for any higher valued player such as Kepler or Larnach. I'd like a CF sub but not at that price
