  1. Leading the majors in being shutout while playing in arguably the weakest division in MLB proves that offense is the overwhelming issue with this team. Well, that is next to brutal head coaching and the worst conditioning/trainers in baseball. I don't see light at the end of the tunnel with any of these issues with current management/coaches.
  2. I am going to scream this for the people in the back. This team is average at best with a subpar manager. They are going nowhere. The offense is the overwhelming issue with this team. Rocco rode the back of Nelson Cruz and we are seeing what this team is like without him. The current first place standing of this team is an illusion. I love my Twins, but this team is simply average and not playoff worthy.
  3. And the vaccine does not prevent you from getting covid and the potential long term affects from it. The vaccine does not stop you from spreading it either. A vaccine that was rushed to market by companies competing for BILLIONS of dollars and are legally protected from any lawsuits. The survival rate from Covid for professional level athletes at this age is almost 100%. There is increasing evidence that the vaccine is causing many more examples of serious health affects as time goes by. The media, which recieves millions from big pharma, is not covering this. Anybody that feels that this specific vax should be absolutely mandated simply is not relying on logic, science or common sense.
  4. This team is not going anywhere. The schedule makers did Rocco a tremendous favor because this team is below average at best. We just lost four of five to the Tigers and scored two runs total in 3 games. Unforgivable. What is it going to take for Rocco to be let go. We will never go anwhere with him at the helm unless you are the typical Minnesota fan who is satisfied with moral victories and first round playoff exits.
  5. Thankfully the Twins offense is red-hot and not in need of one of its best hitters. How ANYBODY can defend Baldelli is beyond me. This move is nauseating.
  6. The entire lineup benefitted from the mere presence of Nelson Cruz. It cannot be overstated what he did for the Twins O as a whole and we are seeing the effects of his removal. The best free agent signing the Twins ever made. I don't blame them for not resigning as his age was starting to show. But damn those were some fun lineups with Nellie in the middle.
  7. Rocco simply is not an MLB caliber coach. Just does not have the stuff. His handling of the bullpen since the beginning of his tenure is inept at best and incarceration worthy at worst. Not sure how he has survived this long beyond riding the positive effects of having Nelson Cruz in his lineup.
  8. I have been blasting the FO for the past week, partly out of well founded fear and partly out of hopes of poking the bear. I happily retract my statements as this is a fantastic signing. If they can get another top of the rotation starter, this team could make some serious noise the next couple of seasons and one I will fully support with my fandom, and more importantly to ownership, my wallet.
  9. I refuse to believe they are done adjusting this roster. I expect a big free agent signing or another big trade.
  10. This HAS to be a move to free up the ability to sign TWO big free agents.
  11. The Cave mistake was such an overwhelmingly bad decision from the initial trade to the decision to protect him over other Outfielders that are going to have long, successful careers elsewhere. I honestly called the Lamonte Wade Jr decision the day it happened. I am glad they finally bit the bullet and outrighted him, but I have to be honest that I have little faith in this FO because of how long they kept him around.
  12. This is fantastic news. This is a very fair contract for BOTH sides IMO. I do hope Buck cashes in on all of those incentives!
  13. After everything the FO has already invested in him regarding the initial trade and the various players not protected on the 40, there is no way they are going to simply cut him loose as they look to save face. And the more they invest in him, the more desperate they seem to be getting in hopes he turns in something.
  14. How is Cave still on this roster. The blackmail photos of Falvey and Levine must be epic.
  15. Jake Cave instantly and violently comes to mind..............
  16. This WILL come back to haunt. Jake Cave is still on the 40 man.
  17. Another aweful move by this FO regarding the 40 man. What is up with the ineptness of the GM's of all our pro sports teams here.
  18. D. And the only reason this is not an F is because of fairly decent trading deadline moves, particularly the Cruz trade. For me, the entire Jake Cave deal is a perfect synopsis of the their inability to judge talent. Trading away a pitcher (yes he was very young at the time) who is now MLB material and then protecting him over Lamonte Wade Jr and Baddoo. How do MLB talent GM's miss so badly on this one. Particularly letting Wade go over him. Cave better be the first one released come 40 man decision time for 2022.
  19. I am not a fan of this FO at all but I will say that they did have a good day at the trade deadline. Hate to see two of my favorite current Twins players leave but we did get very solid return in both. I think there is a strong likelihood that Cruz will be back next year as well.
  20. Why do we need to sign Buxton?! We hAvE jAkE cAvE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Did you see LWJ stat line yesterday BTW) I have zero confidence with either the FO or coaching of this team. Clueless all around.
  21. Wow somebody got triggered. Do you watch the games? Cave looked clueless last year at the plate. Guess hitter. Wade looked confident and did a great job getting on base by working the count. Wade is the type of player the Twins need to supplement their power hitters. IMO it was an easy decision and I called it at the BOY when Cave was kept over Wade. This FO does have a scouting issue of their own players.
  22. Great article. The obsession this FO has with Jake Cave is mind-boggling. Protecting Cave over Wade was just one of the many errors that have surrounded the decision making process regarding playing time and protecting Cave. It was clear that this was a poor decision on Day one regarding Wade. The pitching errors are dreadful as well. To continue to protect older AAAA relievers over younger prospects is borderline criminal.
  23. The absolute need to now sign Josh Donaldson has dramatically increased. They must make a statement move for an impact player. Since they missed on pitching, it HAS to be an offensive player. They cannot enter next year with a lower payroll. THEY CANNOT!!
  24. The fact that there is the possiblity that the Twins may end up with a LOWER payroll than last year is extremely disturbing to say the least. It is an absolute shame that the one team in this market that is not constrained by a salary cap are owned by the absolutely cheapest owners in major sports. Any of the other ownership groups in this market would have signed one of those pitchers.
