Aaron Sabato is as hot as anybody in MILB. What do the Twins have to lose. No need to hold onto Jonah Bride.

This team is not going anywhere with Rocco at the helm. I honestly do not understand how anybody can defend him.

They withdrew because the Pohlad's never had any real intention of selling. They were clearly asking way too much for the franchise which is the real reason Ishbia is out. They DO NOT care about the fans one iota. This is simply another "arm" of their business. DO NOT SPEND MONEY on this team til they sell. Nothing will change.
-
I have been a lifelong fan of this team having followed them religiously since 1981. I have never been more apathetic to this franchise than right now. I will not give another penny to the Pohlad's. They do NOT care which is obvious. I get it as they have other businesses that have their focus. Good on them. But sell the damn team. My fear is that they are going to nickel and dime and hold out. It is important for the fanbase to not allow this to happen. We must boycott ticket sales, merchandise and viewership until team is sold. They are going to make a GIGANTIC profit no matter what the sales price. The only thing they are doing now by delaying a sale is hurting the fans, intentionally ATP. Every other ownership group in this state is top notch IMO. They are willing to spend money and want to win. Vikings, Wolvies and WIld area always active in trying to improve the roster regardless of cost. The sad thing is MLB is the sport with the softest cap where eager owners can make a massive difference.

The Pohlads cannot sell this team fast enough.

Unreal with the negativity. You guys have been beaten into submission here. This is fantastic news. The team cannot move anywhere until 2040 nor would a buyer want to move the team. This is a great market. It is impossible to have worse owners than the Pohlad's. They are 100% in this for profit. It is is in their DNA. The Wilf's, Glen Taylor and WIld ownership are in it for money yes, but they seem to be motivated by winning first. I expect the next owners to have very deep pockets but will also buy for the ego boost of winning. This is fantastic news. It is not too good to be true.

This is not enough. Rocco needs to go as well. We need guys who don't just look at numbers but understand the human element of baseball which is massively important. Also, his bad trades and personnel decisions far outweighed the good ones: I will never forgive the CES and Steel trade for Mahle. Worst trade in Twins history that was predicted by many. How the heck did we hold on to Jake Cave for so long. etc.

I absolutely 100% agree with this. I have posted this on other threads. He treats his players like numbers, regardless of how well they perform constantly and consistently favoring analytics. Baseball does not work that way. There is no harder thing to do in sports than hit off a MLB pitcher. Confidence is absolutely crucial and you could tell that this was a major issue of almost all the batters at year end. Great post.

Falvey had as bad a year as Rocco if not worse. These truly are dark days for Twins fans. There is very little to get excited about with this ownership as well. Pohlad's must sell.

How is anybody defending Rocco still at this point. He was a questionable hire to start with and has done nothing to warrant continued employment. He is absolutely still riding the huge coattails of Nelson Cruz and being in a very weak division overall the past few years. He has ZERO feel for the game. ZERO. Baseball is not a game that can be solely managed with analytics. There human element in baseball is incredibly important, particularly confidence and every year, the players lose it at the end of the season. They are going nowhere with Rocco.

Week in Review: Brink of Disaster
Five minute major replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This franchise is at it's lowest point since the contraction days of Pohlad senior. Rocco is and has never been an MLB caliber coach. His approach and 100% reliance upon analytics is brutal. I have never seen a coach with less "feel" for a game than Rocco. It makes for a boring product to watch as well. This team seems absolutely reading for golf season. Maybe the minor league catcher is a symptom of the overall organization. Something is not right. The Pohlad kids seemed to have returned to their Dad's philosophy of profits over product at an extreme level. This off-season was one of the worst in the history of the franchise considering the high hopes that fans had after a playoff series win. Even, without any FA signings of note, there was still hope with some of the exciting young prospects like Brooks Lee. But the absolute brutal trading deadline period extinguished any glimmer of hope that ownership was trying to win. Injuries to the star players are beyond a coincidence. No franchise has suffered the number of games lost to it's best players like the Twins. It has haunted the franchise since Tony Oliva and seems to get worse as time goes by. Lewis, Buxton, Kepler, Correa and Ryan all missing significant time. The TV deals that left many fans in the dark for months. Unacceptable. The apathy of the fans is very real as attendance is down. This franchise is in desperate need of new ownership. Similar to what happened to the stale VIkings prior to Red McCombs (and Randy Moss) who absolutely reinvigorated the franchise particularly with younger fans. The Pohlad's would make a killing selling this team and the fans would love an ownership group that matches the philosophy of the other three ownership groups in this town that are spending to the max. -
Baseball is no different than any other sport in that momentum and confidence are crucial. Batters on this team have no chance to develop either and regardless of how they perform they will be benched in favor of analytics. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand this. And in no sports situation is confidence more important that a major league AB. Look at the stats of this team. I have never seen a team stat sheet so balance in AB. Nobody has a chance to get hot and then stay there with the exception it seems with Willi Castro who has taken some of the worst AB's of the season all year.
-
I have been saying for the past few years that this team needs a complete overhaul at the top. Bring in a new GM that will hire a coach that has any semblance of intuition. The analytics is not only boring for the fan but the players as well. The batters have no chance to develop any ritual or consistency with being sat in favor of analytics. The approaches at the plate show this as well with some absolutely inexcusable at bats the last month. This entire organization is still riding the huge coatails of the Nelson Cruz. There were questions regarding Rocco when he was hired and none of those have been quelled.
-
There is no defense of the Mahle trade. None. Zero. The worst trade in Twins history. To me it is so bad that it should've cost some jobs. There were a lot of people who immediately recognized how bad this trade was going to be.

What a crazy ride so far this season. They have looked absolutely lost at stretches and world beaters at others. We are getting a glimpse of what could be a really fun offense if they can jettison Farmer and Margot. Wallner's power is Nelson Cruzesque! If he can stay dialed in, he could put up huge numbers. At the beginning of last year, looked like Austin Martin was going to be a flop. What a fantastic turnaround and a fun player to watch. Jose Miranda regaining his swing from two years ago is the most pleasant surprise of the season! Correia is finally earning his mega contract and know we can see why he got it in the first place. Legit All star. And Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee look like cornerstones for the next decade (if they can stay healthy). Jake Cave must've given the blackmail photo's he has on the Twin's FO to Kyle Farmer. Please move on from him.

This would be a very fun offense to watch. I personally would like them sign a more proven right fielder in the offseason. Back up catcher is the only other area I think they need to address but won't with Vazquez contract and at least he provides some D.

The 2022 trade deadline was lower than a F. Especially in hindsight! There were questions about Mahle's health and talent prior to the trade itself. Steer is AN ABOVE AVERAGE player and CES is going to be. The Povich and Cano trade is looking worse. We got literally nothing in return. I still think these moves are termination worry. But this franchise and many of its fans are OK with mediocrity.

They are going to give Correa more breaks as the season progresses which is why Lee is playing almost exclusively at SS in St. Paul. He will be up sooner rather than later.................barring injury of course.
