  1. What exactly are the saving. We are barely in first place in the worst division in baseball. Would have preferred to See Steer and CES in the lineup as well as Wallner called up way sooner. We should not have needed to sign all of these guys to start with (Farmer, Solana, Castro and Taylor). I can understand Taylor to play CF and he is done a fine job. But saving the season is a bit much. This FO needs to be dismissed.
  2. As I've stated in prior threads, this FO is criminally inept. They are getting worse instead of Baldelli who IMO has actually learned from some of his mistakes in prior seasons especially with the pitching staff. Signing Joey Gallo and them keeping him on the roster far too long. They are hoping that he starts hitting to cover up this mistake. They did the same thing when they protected Jake Cave over Lamonte Wade. Kept him on the roster two season too long. Everybody saw it. The Correa contract alone should be enough to dismiss them. Overrated to most knowledgeable baseball minds and then forced them to put Lewis in the OF where he ended up with ACL tear last season. Acquiring damage goods in Tyler Mahle for two absolute stud hitters. I immediately called out this trade and it's even worse than I imagined. Steer is going to be a cornerstone on an up and coming Reds team for years. CES is going to be an all star and going to haunt the Twins like David Ortiz did. Look up their stats if you have not already. Cano for Lopez. Lopez had really only proved himself for less than a half a season.. This team has more injury issues than any team in sports. There has to be something with either the training department or the culture of the program. Trading fan favorite Luis Arraez for Pablo Lopez.
  3. Who the bleep could possibly qualify this FO as successful? I am assuming these folks got the early jump on marijuana usage before it became legal. What have they done to warrant any positive reaction? And if there are any they certainly don't overshadow the bevy of horsecrap decsions: Overpaying a horrendously overated Correa Jake Cave over Lamonte Wade and than holding on to him hoping he would show something far too long. Cano for Jorge Lopez (unproven at all) CES and Steel for Tyler Mahle (this one alone should be fireable). I lose sleep over this one. Its going to suck for an effing decade plus. Trading the incredibly popular Luis Arraez (lost this trade as well although not as bad as the previous two) Hiring the unproven Rocco Baldelli for a team that should have one a playoff series at the time. I do believe Baldelli has learned from some of his mistakes. However, he should have learned those somewhere else. The list goes on. This team is never going anywhere with this FO PERIOD!
  4. Is there a franchise in all of professional sports with more year-over-year injury problems to impact players than the Twins.
  5. I want to see the blackmail photo's Falvine have on the Pohlad's. Must be juicy,
  6. Can't forget about the trade from last year. Another brutal one by this FO. Several here predicted that as well. I personally didn't bash it like the Mahle trade but can see why those who did. I don't understand how anybody supports this FO.
  7. In a few years, this will be replaced by the Mahle for CES and Steer trade. Book it.
  8. Great article. This FO is criminally inept leading a manager who is criminally inept. They both owe their current employment status to the baseball gods who have them in the pathetic Al Central and a fan base that is perfectly acceptable with mediocrity.
  9. I did not like this trade at all. Anybody who follows baseball knew Arraez would increase his batting average this year with the banning of the shift. But this pales in comparison to the Mahle trade which is going to go down as one of the worst in Minnesota sports history when it is all said and done. Just an epic fail that even the most novice fan recognized early on.
  10. It's the acceptance of mediocrity that keeps ownership from being forced to make changes in management that would bring a less accepting fanbase back into the money paying fold. Generally speaking, the fanbase in this state has been conditioined to accept the absolute trainwrecks of sports franchises in this state. There is simply no pressure on ownership to want to get better as the bottom line is consistently healthy.
  11. Many of the posters here are the exact reason why Minnesota will never have another championship sports team of the big 4 and is breaking all the rules of mathematics with its current championship drought. Too many people happy with moral victories and low expectations. Rocco is inept as a head coach. Nice guy, but terrible manager. He owes his current employement to riding Nelson Cruz's gigantic coattails. Stop defending this guy and management. They need to go. You can bookmark this post. They are not going anywhere this year. And don't get me started on the Mahle trade............. CES getting ready to get called up. We are going to rue the trade for a very long time.
  12. This one makes me crazy. Called it a bad trade the day it was made and it's even worse than I expected. Meanwhile, Steer is starting to look like a solid everyday player with CES batting .448 in AAA at age 23. Anybody who though this was a good trade should be suspended from posting on this site. This will go down as one of the worst trades in Twins history and it was so easily identifiable at the time.
  13. Trading away Steer and CES for an injured pitcher has to be in the "special considerations" category. Huge mistake IMO.
  14. It was frustrating in that it was obvious fairly early on that this team was not that good. A very easy schedule to start the season compounded by playing in the weakest division in baseball gave some fans a false sense of what this team's destiny was going to be. Once they started playing harder teams, the true skill level of this team was evidenced. For me, the trade deadline was an absolute failure, particularly in what we gave up for Mahle. That trade will haunt down the road.
  15. I am terrified that CES is going to be the next David Ortiz for Twins fans. I am convinced he is going to be something special.
  16. There should be no future with Rocco. They will never win big games with him. Period. Pin this post.
  17. Appreciate the time you put in the article but you are wrong. The trade for Mahle was simply ridiculous particularly because they did not address the biggest need which has been offense. This team can not and will not hit playoff caliber pitching. We gave up a serious stud in CES who is a legitimate can't miss MLB level stud hitter. Imagine him and Miranda back to back in the lineup. We will have to do just that.
  18. Obviously Sano is gone. Obviously Grey is signed. And it should be obvious that Bundy is gone. With the expected departure of CC, the Twins will have plenty of money to add another top tier starter to compliment Grey, Ryan, and Mahle. Adding a legit #1 (Correa's money will get you that) gives the Twins an imposing top 4. Royce Lewis has proven himself MLB ready and can slide right into SS when he is healthy which should not be too late into the season.
  19. Low point? This team is an average team at best and has been all year. They benefitted early on from a very easy schedule playing in the weakest division in baseball. I am not sure how anybody thought this team was going anywhere this year. We gutted our farm system out of desperation and our going to regret it down the road.
  20. I just can't get over the folks that think this was a good move. This team is going nowhere. What on Earth are you people watching besides the actual games themselves. This was such a bad trade in itself. We gave up way too much. CES is going to haunt us like David Ortiz.
  21. Like posted by others, the offense has been the most dissapointing and was not addressed at all at the deadline. I just do not see this team going anywhere in the post season, even with these additions. I also have zero confidence in Rocco's managing capabilities, particularly in pressure packed games. He has tremendously benefited from the bat of Nelson Cruz up to this season and now the weakest division in baseball. I am convinced the Christian Encarnacion-Strand is going to be an absolute stud. We will see him in the HR derby for multiple years. I like Mahle but he is not going to be a difference maker this year and we have control only for one more season. I personally think the FO gave into the media and fan pressures with these moves. I do not mind the secondary trades nearly as much as those seem to be better deals. Overall grade C-. We needed a big bat and should not have traded CES.
  22. Wow. We gave up way too much for him. I think Christian Encarnacion Strand is going to be a stud at the MLB level iin a few years. But this team, which is going nowhere in the playoffs, was pressured into this by short sighted fans and media. At least there is a couple years of control but I think we are going to rue the day we gave away CES. I understand that you have to pay for a pitcher like this but this was too much.
  23. If the Twins were a legit WS contender, than yes. But they are absolutely not that this year.
  24. The early results of the 2021 draft are extremely promising! I have been critical of this FO but IMO there is no denying that they grade VERY high here early on.
  25. Leading the majors in being shutout while playing in arguably the weakest division in MLB proves that offense is the overwhelming issue with this team. Well, that is next to brutal head coaching and the worst conditioning/trainers in baseball. I don't see light at the end of the tunnel with any of these issues with current management/coaches.
