  1. Pagan has been lights out so far this year.
  2. Headrick ceiling is to be a left handed Bob Tewksbury.
  3. With 200-250 AB for the season he should be able to finish with and above 100 + OPS. He doesn’t have much power but can hit doubles at a decent rate and with enough walks and a .280-.300 average he gets on base enough to be valuable especially as a bench player. One thing I like is we had a pretty good bench the last 2 seasons.
  4. Not only are we going 162-0 we are not giving up a run all season.
  5. There are pitchers who pitched worse than Bundy and Bundy was signed to be a back of rotation starter. He pitched almost 150 innings and made the most starts on the team. For 4 million + 1 million buyout is fine for what we got. I’m not saying he was great or anything but he was worth what he was signed for hence a success. Wisler was here for a season. The 2020 Covid season. The Twins had him make adjustments and he has been mostly successful since. Even though he is not with the Twins. But for the 2020 season he had a low ERA therefore a success.
  6. Rich Hill was a successful signing and Bundy could be considered as well since he didn’t hurt the team and didn’t get injured for 4 million. 8-8 record with almost 150 innings. pitching development started from scratch and was interrupted by Covid. We have lots of prospects near ready. I think what happens with this group determines their ability to develop pitchers. They have developed several bullpen pitchers Jax, Duran, wiseler became a solid reliever under them, Moran, Winder is close if healthy.
  7. I’m taking Sixel to mean no rookies or starters still trying to get established on the roster. But going by age you are correct old nurse.
  8. I feel like Cole could use a little more time in the minors. They should have kept 1 of Coulombe or Hoffman but as the 8th pitcher I doubt it’s that concerning. I agree that Maeda should have a 6 or so start leash. If Ober is performing and Maeda isn’t then a trip to the pen at Pagan’s expense makes sense. There really isn’t much to quibble about on this roster though. That’s real nice for a change.
  9. I’m surprised the Twins didn’t start the season with him instead of Cole in the pen. I hope this doesn’t come back to bite.
  10. Not sure where this goes but Steve Hajjar was traded from Reds to Guardians.
  11. He would get built up for 2-3 innings in the pen and his first 2 or 3 starts would be of the 3-5 innings variety.
  12. I think this will carry into the season but I think he will improve as the season progresses. He probably should start the season in the pen so Ober can start. The pen will also be where he can also at it out and hopefully increase his velocity some. I’m still expecting around 100-120 innings of 4.00 to 4.5 ERA type of season. Hopefully his control improves cause he really needs that if his stuff is slower.
  13. I would be happy with 3 or 4 picks in the top 50 for sure. I doubt we get all 6 and we want to leave room for 1 extension. So Gray has never received a QO before? I guess he lost that value with the Yanks.
  14. It’s satire. The reader was expecting me to write its time to cut bait on AK but Pagan blew lots of games last year and is having a terrible spring so any reason is a good one to dump him.
  15. Well with AK continuing to have health issues it’s clearly time to cut bait with Pagan. The sooner we do that the better AKs situation will be.
  16. What the extensions could look like assuming normal year and solid health going into the offseason: Mahle 5 year 110 - 130 million Gray 3 year 63-72 million Maeda 2 year 24 - 32 million i could see the Twins signing one of these guys. Not two because of payroll limitations unless we make it to game 6 or 7 of World Series and get all that extra usable revenue.
  17. I don’t believe my scenario above would happen. I was just taking a guess as to how the scenario could play out. Realistically I can see Lewis getting called up to play in the OF. And maybe Julien getting called up for a little playing time at 1B, 2B, and DH with maybe 100 plate appearances and Lee getting a debut at the end of the season.
  18. The question was how would 5 minor leaguers come up and get jobs in a season that things are going fine. So it has to be this type of outcome for both the starter who gets replaced and the rookie who takes over.
  19. Let me take a shot at this and see where it goes. Kepler keeps batting around 100 OPS+ and Walner gets called up and hits 125 OPS+ and takes Keplers spot. Gallo OPS around .740 with lots of Ks and Lewis gets called up and hits 130 OPS + with normal K rate Julien gets called up to help out at 1B and 2B to get Polanco and Killeroff some rest and hits 140 OPS + and also gets time at DH Marco Raya gets called up late August to help in the pen and domintates. THats the best i got. it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
  20. They did sign Johan early in his career. I think he got 4 years and 42 million after year 3 or 4.
  21. Miranda at third gives Killeroff an opportunity at 1B and keeps the DH open for players to rotate through and allows Lee to develop in the minors. Eventually someone is getting moved. And hopefully that trade is a good one.
  22. The Tigers are in a frustrating position. Not quite bad enough to tear down and start over but no help is on the horizon from their minor leagues either. That has to be the worst part that nothing is coming from the minors. At least KC has some good prospects coming up. This makes me appreciate being a Twins fan, at least when we fall apart we can take 4 or 5 years to accumulate talent but we are at least competitive at that point.
  23. If the Vikings and Timberwolves and Wild all left town the Twins could gain enough revenue to approach the payroll tax levels I’m sure. That’s what happened to the Pads with the Chargers leaving town. Add the owner is willing to spend adds the extra 50 million or so and also the sold out season.
  24. It could be psychological. He may still be afraid to air it all out after the injury. But I think he just needs time to build back up.
  25. Looking forward to mid summer of 98-107 mph fastballs from the staff. will be fun to watch.
