    I am so tired of commenting on articles and stories like this. The Twins didn't sign anybody, so they have no focus, no direction, the FO sucks, torch the owner... 1) Stop assuming efforts aren't made. 2) Stop assuming the Twins aren't willing to spend money on a particular player. 3) Stop assuming they should be in on every FA on the market 4) Stop assuming every FA wants to come to MN The Twins have a boatload of talent coming off of injuries, they upgraded at catcher, got a placeholder replacement for Correa, made the decision to go with MIranda at 3B, and picked up another viable piece in the OF. Stop saying there is no plan. Stop saying everyone is dumb or cheap. Just say you don't agree with the plan currently being taken.

    Sorry guys... Gallo is not penciled in at RF. At the moment he is penciled in at LF. Kepler is still your RF. He will be until he is no longer here. Still waiting to hear anything other than conjecture he is on the trading block...

    WE MUST TRADE!!!!! sorry mob, Be prepared for your Opening day starting OF to be Gallo, Buxton, Kepler. There has been zero discussion on this being the best defensive OF in baseball. You don't think that will help our SP?

    I understand the logic. For me, especially if the price is right, he represents potential veteran pitching depth at a higher level than Archer or Bundy. He may be seen more as a BP guy, depending on how they are looking at him. It is getting tiresome of people trolling every single move the Twins make. "Everything is wrong because the Twins don't pay and nobody wants to come to Minnesota."

    Buxton... Sure. Anybody else, nope. Maeda will have his innings monitored too much to be in the conversation. Gray would have to pitch out of his mind. No rookies will get enough time to warrant consideration. Lewis would have the smallest of chances (80 or 90 games could do it if the impact was great enough), but it would depend on when he returns to action.

    Kepler has more value to the Twins and more value than most people think. Look beyond bWAR and fWAR. His contract is not overbearing, he is consistent, there is a huge potential for an offensive improvement. People have been questioning the Gallo signing since day one. Gallo can easily be summed up in the following paragraph: If Kirilloff... If Wallner... If Larnach... If Gordon... If Buxton... That is a whole heck of a lot of "ifs". That is why Gallo is here. He covers all of those ifs, not to mention his ability to play corner infield spots. Also, an outfield of Gallo, Buxton, and Kepler is the best defensive outfield in baseball. Gallo in does not mean Kepler out. I am expecting Kepler to be on the Twins roster to start 2023.

    I will bet my left shoe that one of the main reasons the Twins have held fast at their current numbers is due to the fact that this was a line for insurance purposes. The Twins (and Astros) have the best medical information on Correa. This has not changed.

    The complete 180 being done in these comments just cracks me up... Two weeks ago the Twins were too cheap to sign Correa. Now they would be stupid to sign him to the contract they offered. Absolutely nothing has changed in the Twins knowledge of Correa's health.

    If these are your top three that need to step up, we are much better off than anybody thinks. Miranda - I can agree with Lopez - probably 10th on the "step up" list Jeffers - was mitigated by the Vazquez signing, not even on the "step up" list Mahle, Maeda, Kepler, Buxton, Polanco all deserve a place on this list ahead of the three you mentioned (except possibly Miranda, who would be in the mix somewhere)

    Even rebuilding teams need veteran leadership. Gray is also reasonably priced, no need to move him just yet. I hope everyone sees that this "rebuilding" team that you are describing is pretty close to what we have.

    You all are a bunch of wimps... -11 degrees with -35 degree windchill? Come talk to me when it is -30/-50. I didn't even zip up my coat... There is a reason rich people are rich. It doesn't happen by throwing money out the window. That is why it is such big deal when one decides to make it rain.

    I agree with your assessments, though Escobar has a team friendly contract, brings intangible values, and lifts the bench floor. He would be a fit here.

    I posted this elsewhere and am posting it here as well. Taken from a Buster Olney paywall article: Early in the offseason, the Twins made it clear they wanted Correa back, and according to industry sources, they offered $285 million over 10 years. When you factor in state taxes and the length of the proposals, rival evaluators note that Correa is actually making markedly less annually in his deal with the Mets than he would've gotten with the Twins, let alone the Giants. But Correa has always been a big-stage personality, someone who gravitates toward the brightest lights -- in this case, Cohen's lights, in New York. Correa's final decision was not about money.
