  1. Of all the players on the Twins and including prospects, I have the most confidence and hope for Larnach. Really don't have any reason other than gut feeling, but I still see Larnach as a future All-Star and I hope it is with the Twins. P.S. Also see Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis as future All-Stars. --------------OH CRAP, my crystal ball just fell off the table and shattered.
  2. Interesting. But I'm not holding my breath any longer. Heck, I may not live to see Correa sign anywhere. And I ain't planning on dieing any time soon.
  3. So, what would the cost of insurance be on a contract like this. I would guess somewhere near 100 times my lifetime earnings or more?
  4. I think Kepler is the most likely to be tradded. Walner is young and inexpensive right now. Martin hits from the right side and has a fairly high cieling, so I wouldn't trade him at least not this year. Kirilloff and Larnach have high cielings. That leaves a Kepler package for pitching or a right handed OF bat. I don't see him being traded for another OF lefthanded bat. That wouldn't make sense to me. We have some very nice prospects that could be added in a package deal but I would hold firm on the other four outfielders for now.
  5. I gues that makes the lottery ticket the headliner.
  6. How bout Kepler, Pagan, and a lottery ticket.
  7. LOL, may not be easy peasy, but should definately be the goal.
  8. We will play the same teams, the same number of times as every other team in the league. The good teams will "normally" win the majority of the games. So let's put together the best team possible and hope for the best. Should be interesting and fun from a fan perspective. I don't think it should make much difference in divisional races. Just be the best team!!!!
  9. Just NO!!! For Austin Martin? "HELL NO"!!!
  10. Like it or not, they should be kinda fun to watch.
  11. I don't hold much store in the HOF anymore, due to some of the players who are in that I don't believe should be, and also some who never even got a chance past the first year. Kaat and Oliva having to wait this long was a travesty IMHO. But in the words of another former Twins catcher "However", I know it is a huge deal to the players and if anybody deserves to get in, Mauer is among them. A shoo in.
  12. Lol, love the Soprano reference.
  13. I like your picks, would love the Adames trade depending on what we would have to give up in trade. In no circumstance would I want to give up Brooks Lee. He would be my only untouchable in this scenario. Also would not want to give up more than one of our top 10 prospects. I'm not sure I could get this deal done. Giving up Lewis would make me cringe, but I could do it. What kind of package would this take?
  14. Great article Seth. I think the Twins could rebound for this offseason with a C+ to B grade if they were to do a couple of things. Sign Andrus or Iglesias to put Farmer back to a very good UT position. Sign Eovaldi to bolster the rotation. Sign someone like maybe Duval to play either RF or LF. These signings should keep us in the budget. Not sure how to fix the 40 man in this scenario. Also, maybe a trade for a top back end reliever would help there. In any case, I am not giving up on the Twins just yet. Some might call me an eternall optimist. Others might call me an eternal fool. But I cant' help but love baseball, and I can't help but love my Twins. So keep up the good work, and we'll see you at the ballpark.
  15. Sorry. "NO Sale" !!!!!
  16. Flipping Donaldson may not be as easy as you think. I say stay away from both. There's got to be better deals out there. And if there isn't, then no deal would be better!
  17. At this point I would not trade any of our top 10 prospects. If you can trade Kepler, Arraez, Pagan or low level minor leaguers for the right package, I'd be ok with that. But we need to see Lewis, Lee, Martin, Larnach, Kirilloff, Prielipp, Walner, Rodriguez, Woods Richardson, Varland, Julien et.al develop in the Twins system. It doesn't look like we will be serious contenders in '23, but it's not time for a total breakdown of the system either. I think these young guys all have better than average upside, so lets take another year to see how they come along and maybe Falvine can learn from this year, and do a better job next offseason. Don't get me wrong. I'm not giving up on this season. I still believe trading Arraez+ for Lopez betters the team. Also, they are always talking about being creative, now would be a good time to get creative. There are 29 other teams out there. Just don't be trading away any more of the future. Building from within will be very necessary going forward with the crazy FA contracts. Reguardless, See you at the ballpark.
  18. My take; I don't blame Correa for taking that kind of contract. I don't blame the Twins for not getting it done. I wish Correa, Turner, Bogarts, Judge, and any other long term contract signer happy lives and prosperity. However, I hope that on the field they fail miserably. Something has to put an end to these stupid, ridiculous, asinine contracts. I will still be a Twins fan and I will attend many games at Target Field even though I have to drive 180 miles each way, home/and back. I will watch as many of the remainder of the games as I can on tv until my cable company can no longer afford to broadcast them. And I think that scenario is coming sooner than I would hope. I am a Twins fan but I don't actually expect them to be competitve the way things stand. I think our best bet is to concentrate on drafting wisely and building our teams from within. Our windows for winning have been boarded up by the crazy state of baseball business. "Which stage am I in?" Probably depression!!

    the Anti- Correa move

Pull this off and I shall bow to you!!! LOL. But it's not that far from sensible. I would certainly call it creative.
  20. I totally agree with CRF, but, you need to look at what would make the Twins a better team. Arraez with our young pitchers? Or Lopez with our young hitters. I tend to believe that It will be easier to replace Arraez's production and a top tier starter would be more valuable to the team at this point. I think a fair trade for Lopez would be Arraez and Kepler and we may have to throw in another low level lottery ticket. What's that old saying? "You can never have enouph pitching."
  21. I see the possibility of Arraez and Kepler for Lopez. I'd be ok with that.
  22. Just a thought, but what would it take to sign Josh Bell, a switch hitting 1B with power vs. a RH outfielder? If we could add him along with Correa(this is my first priority) it would alleviate the RH bat problem and use Arraez primarily as DH and occasional utility infielder. That gives us alot of flexibility while using Kiriloff and Larnach as corner outfielders if healthy. I still think Kepler gets traded and Walner could start in St. Paul. However, I haven't heard what kind of money this would require. But, I have always been in favor of the traditional Power hitter at 1B. Seems like a lot of work to do this offseason, but speculation is half the fun. What do TDer's think of this senario.
  23. I think the Twins should be able to sign him for 5/65m. Also, as long as he performs, he should always be a valuable trade chip, with a team friendly contract. I'm not advocating to trade him, but we do have several young studs that seem ready to contribute, possibly even more than Luis, coming up in the next few years. If they push Luis into being a trade candidate, great! If they don't come through, no need to trade him. It's like having insurance for your insurance.
  24. It's simple. Farmer backs up 3b and SS after the Twins sign Correa. Get'er done.
