  1. This is not the lineup that I thought would figure out Ryan.
  2. Tonight, it's gotta be "Go Birds!" I'll be watching Joe Ryan tonight, but the AL East games will be the viewing for the weekend. Robbie Ray should be able to secure the Cy with a solid winning effort tonight. I will be rooting for that as well.
  3. I agree. I think part of it is due to the fact that many high end minor league starters that can't crack their org's MLB rotation end up getting the bullpen roles and succeeding (Trevor May, Tyler Duffey, Taylor Rogers, hopefully Jorge Alcala). Hopefully, Jovani Moran can bust the trend. John Curtiss has been successful after leaving Minnesota and bouncing around a bit, but now he's hurt.
  4. Most of these guys really need to cut down on their walks. I'd take Rozek over Featherstone going by these numbers and my impression watching Featherstone pitch live.
  5. On the hitting side, it will interesting to see if Miranda gets the nod for the BA MiLB Player of the Year award. MJ Melendez and Bobby Witt, Jr from Omaha are probably right up there with him. I'm guessing it will be Witt due to name recognition and prospect shine (he's also had an incredible season), but Miranda has a chance.
  6. Or, they could just get rid of Rocco and hire that guy to be the manager
  7. It is a small sample, but for 2021, the inning split is around 60/40 Twins/Rays. I also would be interested to know why the "click" when moving to the Rays. As Otto said, the numbers aren't eye-popping for his age and experience, but, for me, the turnaround is eye-popping. I guess the Rays could have been very insistent on Faucher, and he was more than just a throw in to even up the value. If Ryan can give the Twins 30 starts of competitive baseball in 2022, I'll happily push my eyes back in and look the other way.
  8. 1.71 ERA / 0.85 WHIP / 20 K/BB% - These numbers aren't even in the same ballpark (sorry) as his Wichita numbers. Joe Ryan has been awesome, and the Twins are getting the production at the big league level. However, it definitely looks like any talk of "fleecing" may be premature.
  9. Congrats, Louie! Great to see this from one of Minnesota's own! I have a feeling it won't be long until we see him on the big stage.
  10. He's got an option, so I don't think this is a decision that needs to be made this off-season. I think he's done enough to keep on the 40. A 99 OPS+ in 212 MLB PAs is hardly a miserable failure for a rookie.
  11. Wow, Alcala just absolutely blew away Bichette.
  12. He sure stole Ryan's chance at a consecutive strikeout mark.
  13. I think that swirly pop foul that he missed got in his head a little. He seems to be turning it back on.
  14. Thanks for the effort in putting this together. I'm sure I disagree on some grades, but having all this data together for reference is nice.
  15. I'm trying to stay patient and hope for the same, but the sample is getting larger and larger. After showing promise when he moved from the bullpen to the rotation, I was hopeful, but the trend has gone the wrong way and the curve of it seems to be dropping at more accelerated rate. The HR/9 is just ridiculously bad. His calling cards of command and control have been lost along the way as well. If anyone will put the work in over the off-season to maximize success in 2022, it's him. Perhaps a move to the pen where he can work at 94/95 and focus only on the slider that has generated a lot of swings and misses at times would be a path forward.
  16. I really want Jax to succeed, but he's gone straight downhill since that lights out performance against Chicago when he had 10 Ks. I guess even a blind squirrel ... I still thank him for his service and his wife's service.
  17. I don't see how Kepler brings much back in trade value right now. If his 100 OPS+ isn't good enough for one of the worst teams in baseball, why would a better team want to acquire him and give up anything valuable? Larnach hasn't proven that he's ready to be an every day outfielder. Trading Kepler now seems like selling low so that a cheaper, slower player with less defensive aptitude who is still trying to figure it out at the plate at AAA can come in and struggle. Kepler has also been hurt this season. I'd give Max the first half of next season to try to build value for himself, whether that be staying as part of the core or being moved at the deadline at a higher return value. If Larnach figures it out a AAA and starts lighting it up there or Martin is banging on the MLB door otherwise, then that's when the 'move Kepler' conversation should begin. Kepler as a 4th OF is an interesting notion. Sure, he'd be expensive for that position in a vacuum. However, if you have pre-arb players starting in LF and RF, who cares?
  18. I wonder if the Twins are keeping Miranda in AAA to let him keep fattening his numbers and continue getting looks from scouts of other teams. Perhaps, he will be traded along with others for the controllable arm that this team desperately needs. I could probably live with never seeing him in a Twins uniform along with a couple good pitching prospects, if it meant that the Twins could add Marquez, Means, Alcantara or at a lower price Kelly or Gallen.
  19. Well-deserved!! I hope you can win tonight. Thanks for your service, Captain Jax!
  20. Even Jax would play, if those numbers are the qualifiers. Unless HR9 is the ultra-qualifier. 21. Removed again
  22. I like this guy more after each interview. He seems very candid and doesn't give those silly scripted responses. (e.g. "I was just looking for a pitch that I could hit.") Was he apologizing for almost calling the wrist wrap "sh!t" or calling Baldelli "Skip"? It seemed the latter. I didn't know that was a no-no these days.
  23. Yeah, right in his wheelhouse according to GameDay.
