    If he was "skinny" at 17 in 2019 to the home run video in 2023, I'm a bit worried he might have similar plate ( and I'm talking dinner ) issues as Miguel Sano did? Hope not as he certainly looks intriguing.

    Thanks Nick! Wonderful piece. Have followed the Twins since Zoilo Versalles was the starting Short Stop, Modern baseball stats and analysis are great...fun, endless source of discussion and debate (and useful for Front Office contract decisions). I say this not to start a new Joe Maurer debate thread but I doubt I will ever see a baseball swing as beautiful as Joe Mauer's? In the end, that's why we love this game? Thanks 7

    Said my part. Yes love and follow all Baseball stats. But what makes Baseball the most Beautiful Game has been lucky to have seen a Joe Mauer swing of the bat? Whether he got a hit or not never mattered?...the Beauty was in this swing? Thanks Joe...your brilliant talent has just been immortilized?! Hall of Fame is forever!!

    The day Joe was drafted 1st in the June 2001 Draft, I decided I needed to see this guy in person. Went to the CDH vs Woodbury game in the Minnesota State Baseball tournament at the old Midway Stadium in St. Paul later that afternoon. When Joe and the rest of CDH/Woodbury players came out on the field, literally, literally, Joe looked like a Man amongst Boys. Can't recall what Joe did at the plate that day but vividly recall a Woodbury guy attempt to steal second (why??). The Cretin second baseman had the ball in his glove before the runner was half way to second. Highly recommend Jake Mintz's piece today on Joe's story...beautifully written!     Thinking about this further, the Twins are dealing from strength...Brewers not? Falvine should open Negotiations Polanco vs Burnes straight up? Why not? Jorge is a proven versatile MLB switch hitting above average fielding player. Burnes is in the top eschelon pitcher...we get that. So MKE, do the trade? If suds crew balks...silence. If (and they will) counter...ONLY one of Festa or Priellip? More suds balk? Twins walk away.

    Not going to happen for too many reasons to list but the Golden Voice of Jon Miller, SF radio ("KNBR the Northern California Honda Dealer network") broadcaster. Listen to SF Giants games on iHeart just to experience the beauty of a baseball game called by a consummate Professional. Don't even care if the Giants win or lose... ;-) OK, just woke up from the dream.... Go Twins!
