  1. Problem the Twins have is three fold: 1. Bad team...duh? 2. FSN aka Bally's is a Black Hole on streaming platforms. Losing the younger generation Big Time ( I'm ancient btw) 3. Does anybody feel safe going to downtown Minneapolis at Target Field anymore? Recipe for a.......Relocation? Now I'll eat some lasagna... Tommy.....
  2. With the FSN mess, there essentially is no TV market for the Twins heading into the 2021 season..
  3. John..I'd go further and say with a few more external moves (SP/RP?)...the 2021 Minnesota Twins are looking downright dangerous? Seriously dangerous to the American League...
  4. I'll keep it short: 1. Left-hander MLB pitcher: + 2. Consistent 5-6 innings/start: ++ 3. Durable: +++ Grade for 1 year @8M: A- ps: in honor of our beloved Tommy Lasorda (RIP), can FalVine lure Doug Rau out of retirement?
  5. Apologize but this Bad Boy should have been quenched in the top of the 9th? Somebody FU'd?
  6. Put another way, you WANT to finish .500
  7. The most important take away from Spring Training in modern MLB history is that a .500 record is the perfect win-loss result. It allows the FO brain trust to assess clearly the strengths and weaknesses of a team, without a bias of a super "successful" pre-season or a super "dreadful" pre-season? If the Twins finish Spring Training 17-17...perfect!
  8. 162 games is a long season..... Anything can and will happen? Like the NFL, the Wild Card is the launching pad to post-season success? Divisional winners in Post-Season are nothing but fodder for quick elimination. Better to be a lowly, dismissed Wild-card entry and tear havoc with the talking heads than to be a blowout Divisional winner and subsequently get clocked in Round 1? W-L season stats are nice but who hoists the WS trophy is what counts?
  9. NBCSports did Brusdar irreparable career harm by reporting him as "damaged goods"? Epitome of 'Fake News" from a sports perspective? Wish Mr. Graterol an incredibly productive and successful (HOF?) MLB career.. Shame on BOS..shame on NBCSports...and the lazy media who simply repeated the damaged goods narrative... Time to move on...bring on Spring Training 2020!
  10. I worked at NWA post the Chechi-Wilson era. The scuttle-butt was that Gary Wilson, co-CEO, had ice-water running through his veins when negotiating? His "opener" for any negotiations would even make Agent Orange blush with it's audacity. Lesson? When you have the upper hand...go for the jugular. Twins are in such a position vs Boston....
  11. Falvine: "OK...let's do this...Graterol and Gordon and "XYZ" A+...we get Maeda and Sale?"
  12. Boston has NO leverage to negotiate with Minnesota....they are a franchise in crises. Falvine should be squeezing THEM under the table......
  13. The latest is that Boston is trying to reconfigure the deal with the Twins, "meaning more than Graterol". OK...then a Dobnak, Smeltzer or Thorpe for Maeda and we keep the "Damaged Goods" Graterol? Seems fair?
  14. "The Dodgers are not going to let the Twins stand in the way. This is all about Betts. The Dodgers want him, he's been announced to the fan base. The Red Sox won't want to go through the trade speculation process again. The optimism expressed that this won't sideline the deal is probably referring to the main piece Mookie Betts. The Dodgers and Red Sox probably have a contingency plan worked out and that contingency could have the potential to uninvite the Twins to the party." Fine...then the Twins should say "Thanks guys, it was fun..good luck" and keep Brusdar. No worse off or better than we were two days ago....I'm good with that (for now)....
  15. Twins should do nothing...Graterol for Maeda, period. Let the Dodgers "sweeten" the offer, if that's what it takes... As jimbo92107 correctly pointed out: "Always be willing to walk away"
  16. This is the trade we have advocated...high impact...high risk? Trust in FalVine........
  17. I think someone has said this over the last 120+ years of MLB, that if both sides have a sick feeling over a trade, then it's probably a great trade for both sides...?
  18. "Now, Romero of course has some things working against him, the main one being command." Hard to have command when you are struggling with composure. Watching that 10-1 game last June, it was the composure meltdown as things went South on the mound that half inning that was tough to watch. Rather than work on mechanics, technique, etc to improve Fernando's command hopefully Wes Johnson/Twins can help him with the mental discipline aspect of being a MLB pitcher.
