  1. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory… This is now Levine’s problem. The Twins needs a shutdown late inning reliever, and he’s the one in the org responsible for making that happen.
  2. IMHO We didn't steal anything - This has more to do with inept play on the sox part and lazy play giving the game away. Neither team executed well in the late innings, and the Sox (more specifically Abreu) made two blunders on one play to give the game away (which we in turn tried our hardest to give right back the next inning). Had Abreu played the ball and not go for any heroics there is a good chance its a tie game going into the 9th. Even if he made the same initial play, if he had simply run the ball back in instead of making a throw that wasn't necessary (something EVERY infielder is supposed to learn in little league) the inning continues tied at 1.
  3. Can we send a jucy lucy to Abreu for bailing us out last night?
  4. I would love to know as well... I kind of assumed it was a hybrid role of chief player morale officer, uber coordinator / go-between for the other coaches and coordinators, and someone for the manager to bounce ideas off of. If anyone actually knows the answer I would love to hear it because its the most ambiguous coaching position in all of spots.
  5. Not a fair comparison. Rowson was the Miami bench coach, not their hitting coach.
  6. been waiting weeks for the trades to start. Sad to see Cruz go but I came to terms with this probably happening weeks ago. At least he’s going to a solid contender and a team I don’t hate.
  7. Maybe this was all part of their mad genius plan... get by on B-rate (at best) pitching, maintain club control on the young staff, and call them up when its obvious we're not competing this year to give them the extra reps before next season.
  8. I understand we need something to talk about, but this sums up my mentality on the season....
  9. Its going to be interesting, dare I say watchable, if we ever get everyone healthy. This season has either been a comedy of misfortune on player health, or a clear indication that whatever it is that the training staff is doing - they are doing it wrong.
  10. Last night was the exception, not the norm. I have to think that the Yankees fans are more embarrassed / confused than anything we might be feeling.
  11. In just over 5 minutes of real time. This wasn't some long drawn-out comeback. This happened fast
  12. I'm willing to bet we're watching that record streak in real-time.
  13. This team is just bad. I started the season wondering how deep we would go in the playoffs. Now I'm wondering who we're going to trade and what we'll get in return during the fire sale at the trade deadline.
  14. Lets see - 2-1 series win... [checks box score].... [see's Colome pitched in one game, the loss]... this checks out.
