  1. Yep so year and a half when we traded. This team needs him.
  2. And that’s a problem. Martin was the centerpiece of the Berrios trade. People said we win that trade. Hardly. We got a likely corner outfielder that can’t hit and pitching prospect that has no control for the best pitcher we’ve had here since Santana. System should be stocked after trading your #1 starter with years of control left. I’ll take Berrios leading this rotation right now and they can have back their broken prospects
  3. Yea sorry. I’d take Roger’s back or heck I’d have traded him to Milwaukee along with a couple prospects for Hader. He has one of the very best left handed arms in the entire game. My main point is that Paddack looked very similar to any old AAA pitcher we can bring up at any time. Grapefruit thrower
  4. I’ll judge them too. Chase Petty for a terrible starter in Paddack was one of the bullets we needed this deadline or off-season to go for real talent. After I watched Paddack all I could think about was Nick Blackburn and the rest for the 5 and fly crew. He’s not and won’t be good. Young that it.
  5. Miranda has been the MVP of this team for the last couple months. Stud! Also think that the third baseman is alot better player than people around here give him credit for. He plays great defense and has had a few hits like this. So good for this team IMO I would see what it takes to keep him here for another couple years
  6. It's rarely been great. They keep 1-2 good ones per year and deal the rest. Most are over-rated by east coast media.
  7. Mahle, Rodon, Lopez still available. Lots of relievers still out there. Twins aren't going to send any from their top 7-8 prospects I don't think when this team has shown how streaky/average they are.
  8. Yankee prospects always project to be so much better than they are also. That said, I bet we didn't have 2 pitchers that Oakland liked. Alot of our better pitching prospects are hurt.
  9. I am pretty much with you after seeing the price to get Castillo. I want Miranda, AK and Lewis here throughout their arb years anyway. Upgrade the bullpen anyway you can and see what happens. Those 3 prospects though no way. If a controllable starter is available, I would give up position player prospects(not the 3) for them. Our rotation is not suddenly going to be worlds better next year. Lots of hope, band-aids and if they get healthy's on that list.
  10. Per mlbtrade rumors. Trivino also included in the deal. No reports of who is going back to the A's. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/yankees-to-acquire-frankie-montas-lou-trivino.html
  11. He's not a rental, another year of control remaining. I agree, high price, but his is a huge arm.
  12. I'd take this guy if it means they are going to be able to hold onto Miranda, Kiriloff and Lewis. Get him, then find 2 relievers on expiring contracts. Let's go. Not enough to win it all, but at least enough to stay competitive the rest of the year. That said, if they are hellbent on adding the elite guys, then only 1 of those 3 I named can leave. I think it would be a mistake to move more than 1 of them.
  13. What is safe about it? I don't called everyone cooked, just the 2 reclamation project dumpster dives that are in our rotation. To get what we got from them(half a season) without them totally blowing up(like they are now) should be considered a success. But if they were in a position to or wanted to compete, the FO had to know before the season started these guys would need replacing at some point.
  14. SSS Look at his ball and strike percentage. I don't know what it was but, my guess, still not good. This is why watching the game and not just a clipboard still has merit.
  15. He was still the same guy. Throws too many balls, uncompetitive pitches. Luck has helped him plenty early. I'll stand by what I said, cooked.
  16. He has had high pitch counts early all year because he can't throw strikes. He is cooked, watch with your eyes. Done.
  17. He is done just like Bundy is done. Maybe each can help in the bullpen, but their days as starters are nearing an end.
  18. Another walk. He throws way too many balls. This is probably his inning to get shelled. Hang on tight.
  19. Lineup is fine IMO. Not perfect, but it is enough to compete with a competent pitching staff. Look at the runs scored vs those teams. Our lineup has put up a fair amount of runs against those same teams. We have given up a TON to them though, poor pitching.
  20. Walking guys late in the game is not good. Duffey looked so solid to his first hitter then he just lost it. Bundy is done. Flat out. I think he has worn out his welcome. He actually did a pretty good job making it this far into the season before turning into a pumpkin. Archer probably in for a similar fate today, I'm guessing he goes 4 at best. This kind of thing is just unsustainable all year when the bullpen you have is 2-3 deep of really solid guys. They need a starter and bullpen help. Even a starter that could slot in about #4 in our rotation paired with 2 solid relievers would help win the division.
  21. I also wonder if this is Sano's last dance with the Twins. That said, those saying he won't even be tendered a major league contract next year are off the mark IMO. For the league minimum, he offers alot of upside. My guess is he will find a one-year deal from someone without any problem at all if he shows any kind of anything these last couple months.
  22. Watch the games. Aaraez is a terrible fielder. At 3B, I have more confidence in a high end high school kid than him. I don't care what metrics say, there are balls he doesn't even get to or offer at that most 3B make the play. GREAT hitter, really poor fielder. If he has to play the field it needs to be right side where he has more time.
  23. Understand what kind of player this is before you talk like that. A SS that plays the gold glove caliber defense he does and also is a top of the order hitter is something that doesn't grow on trees. Slightly better than average? LOL come on now.
  24. What do you guys who want to trade him think you are going to bring back in a trade for basically 2 months of him? He isn't worth much with the contract that he has allowing him to opt out. You will bascially get a B level prospect for him and you will get a team and fan mutiny for trading him. I would bet my house that the FO hasn't even thought about dealing him. If they honestly do move him and it's for a guy that doesn't rate out as a surefire starting caliber MLB player, they should be fired right on the spot.
  25. I was at the game Friday and Sano looked bad at the plate that night. The outside breaking pitch as usual did him in a couple times. He also took some pitches I though looked hittable early in counts. I was impressed with the Palacious kid though. He looked nice at 3B and hit the ball hard every at bat he took. Looks like he went 2-3 on Saturday as well. Not sure if the Twins have a plan for him, but I was impressed the night I was there.
