Baldelli should be fired right after todays game and the FO should be on probation at the least. So many blunders. Biggest one for me was letting Berrios go. They panicked and took what they could and it was absolutely NOTHING. I don't think Berrios wanted to stay though. No one wants to be stuck in an organization like this in the prime of their careers. We are all about getting the one last hope big name "ex" stars.

How Certain Should We Be About the 2023 Twins?
MABB1959 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I would say none. Been waiting 20 years for them to figure it out. Our "window of opportunity" was supposed to be a few years ago. What the heck happened to that?- 25 replies

The Moments that Sank the 2022 Minnesota Twins
MABB1959 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Kind of hilarious that they were careful with so many players. I assume it was so they would be at their best for post season. Especially pitchers getting pulled when they were on their way to pitching a gem. Well that logic didn’t work out very well. IMO many of the strains and aches and pains could be avoided if they had a better conditioning program. Proper stretching and warming up is very important. IMO gymnastics is much harder on knees/joints and muscles than baseball. Mine practice 4 days a week 5 hours at a time. Much of the time is spent with proper conditioning and warmups. Pitchers are certainly different than fielders. Fielders make 3-4 plays and hit 3-4 times. To me that doesn’t seem like it would take such a toll. Running the bases should not cause the injuries it does. Just seems odd that a sport like baseball can be that hard physically.- 34 replies

Same thing year after year. The only way not to get frustrated is to come to terms that this team probably will never turn it around. They can’t or won’t get an Ace or even #2 quality pitcher. My guess is no pitcher in the prime of his career would not to waste it with the Twins. When we do get quality players they let them go for little to nothing. I am 100% sure Berrios did not want to stay. He has bigger goals. Probably 3-4 others that got out or want out. Instead they ALWAYS are looking for the cheaper players hoping for resurgence in their career. These players either get worse or can’t stay healthy.

What Happens to the Twins Front Office for 2023?
MABB1959 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Maybe the scouting personnel needs to change? How did they NOT see the Mahle injury and what gave them the idea he would be able to play this season. I think an upgrade to the medical staff should be looked at as well.- 56 replies

So happy, Blue Jays was the free MLB game of the day. Got to see one of my all time favorite pitchers and a real MLB team. Sad that we can only dream of a team like the Blue Jays.

I would disagree. We have one player in the top 100 salary wise. Correa at #7 and then all the way down to #105 overall and 35th counting just pitchers with Sonny Gray. I really think they need to pay for a top starter 1-2 and a top DH. Hopefully Correa will be here next year but if not they better make a big signing. I don't understand why MN is considered mid or small market. We have one team and fans most likely from 3-4 states. If they fielded a top team their ticket sales would increase. The other issue is most people not being able to watch them on TV. They receive 268,000,000 in TV Revenue why not spend most of that on payroll? Doesn't matter anyway they are not going to change.

Not going to change and never will until we get owners who are willing to invest in a WS team.

It is not a team. It is a mix match of players. I could be wrong but their is not a true closer or DH. Correa, Buxton and Polanco seem to be the only players in their “true” position. The rest seem to be randomly thrown into different positions. IMO total failure in building a roster.

3 Disappointing Seasons from Twins' Top Prospects
MABB1959 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
He is having a down year but would still be better than what we got. His ERA is high but he gets further into a game than any of our pitchers. I would WAY rather have him than what we got.- 43 replies

Besides Kepler having IMO another bad year. He is non-existent to the fans. He doesn't seem to do interviews where he admits he is disappointed in his play. He could be a clubhouse leader but it doesn't seem like it. Hard to say what they should do. I would say bench him for the rest of the year and let some of the kids in the minors get a chance. Can he be dropped from the 40 man? How was Tim Beckham a #1 draft pick? How terribly sad! I saw a line-up this week with him DH'ing and batting 8th. To me that was a sign we are at the bottom of barrel. Is there anyone in AAA that should get a chance in place of Kepler or Beckham?

It's Time to Shut Down Byron Buxton
MABB1959 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not saying he doesn't try or is not working hard. If there is nothing that can be done we are in trouble. Just saying that something is not working. Comparing gymnastics to baseball is a little far-fetched but if you know anything about gymnastics it is not easy on the body especially at the high levels. Most have abs of steel! My granddaughter is at a high level and the things she does is incredibly hard on the knees, wrists, hips, ankles and especially the back and having a strong core helps to prevent injuries that would put them on the IL so to say. Her gym has a great conditioning program and unless they break a bone or get a concussion there are not many that need to take time off. Overall the Twins have a great deal of injuries so is it the training staff?- 68 replies

It's Time to Shut Down Byron Buxton
MABB1959 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
They need to come up with a good conditioning plan for him. Surgeries are one thing but conditioning is huge when trying to prevent injuries. I know totally different sport but but gymnastics is a sport where all parts of the body can take a good pounding everyday. They practice 20 hours a week but at least 5 hours of that is pure conditioning. Good core strength is the key.- 68 replies

Stats and numbers seem to make this one of the weakest lineups to date. Buxton leaving is more than disappointing, especially with Houston coming up.

Can Simeon Woods Richardson Be Better Than Jose Berrios?
MABB1959 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
SWR is not here and has proved nothing. It has been over a year and we have nothing to show for the Berrios trade! Berrios has had some clunkers and gems. He does give his team a good 7 innings for the most part. He has given the Blue Jays 128 innings. Twins closest player is Joe Ryan at 107 and Dylan Bundy at 103. The rest are all under 100. The Blue Jays believe in him and he has acknowledged his clunkers each time and works really hard to improve. -
Week in Review: Running into a Wall

It is a combination of failures. I know all teams have injuries but the medical staff of the Twins has to be at the bottom. How on earth did they think Mahle was healthy? Far too many.- 15 replies

Week in Review: Running into a Wall
MABB1959 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
When do heads start to roll? I don’t think we have really won or come out on top with trades made? It doesn’t seem like player development is even good. The few players that have made it as MLB quality are few and far between. Keeping players healthy has been horrible. Questionable day to day lineup’s and pitching management not even average. Kepler should be DFA’d or at the very least benched instead he often hits in prime spots. Not even sure how to categorize the lack of getting the team to even appear that they want to win. A few really put their hearts in the game. We are now 2-3 years past being the competitive team we were supposed to have. It doesn’t seem like they are rebuilding. Basically if most of us were this incompetent we would have been fired a long time ago.- 15 replies
