  1. They have coaches in the big leagues to work with him on defense right? He is not going to get the experience need to improve his defense in AAA?
  2. To be honest I don't know but taking a pitcher on a roll out of the game before the 7th inning is ridiculous. I guessing their is a statistic out their that show often injured pitchers with average innings played and number of pitches thrown. I think the player should decide how they are feeling at the time. If they say good to go for heavens sake let them go. I think Rocco panics too soon and doesn't give our great starters a chance to get out of a jam.
  3. I bet they are both thrilled to get a chance on a contending team or at least not the Twins who IMO will never spend what is needed and I question their ability to see a good player.
  4. With the right coaching I think they can improve their defensive weaknesses but doubt that would have happened here. That trade really hurts!
  5. If they released him and someone picked him up would that team take on his contract. Is their a team that would possibly do that? If so that would be a win-win, Kepler may do better on another team and stop the almost automatic out for the Twins? Did they maybe learn a team friendly deal isn't always the best? I really believe his is done and Wallner has earned his spot. Right???
  6. Is their a trend of players pitching at least 7 innings or 100+ pitches hitting the injury list the next day?
  7. I think Rocco should ride this line-up for a few more games. I know it is at home and fans want to see Buxton and Correa. Kepler absolutely should be pulled. This may give fans a chance to get to know the other players What other game do they sit the hottest players? I would go at least one more game to see what happens. This would give last night's players a "reward" for their hard work and incent others to play to their best or back to the bench.
  8. Is .265 good. I guess I would expect nothing less than .300+ for that kind of money. What do you see to expect.265?
  9. I think they should let Kepler go and pay him out unless someone picks him up. Wasting too much time. Seems like all it takes is one hit and he is back on the "A" list or in the Twins case the C- list as most are
  10. Is it possible the Giants and Mets did a thorough evaluation and saw this coming and the Twins cracker jack front office didn't?
  11. I think it is time to sit ANY players not meeting expectations and what they are paid to do. Imagine benching Correa, Buxton and Kepler for a few games in a row. Send a message to this team that their play is unacceptable.
  12. Just asking….could the Twins get anything for Buxton? Would another team take him and let him play? The article says he has been productive. To me his simple stats look bad. He seems limited in running and stealing bases. His average looks sad. Should he have more HR’s and RBI’s as a DH? His salary/contract seem to call for greatness. Love him but very torn/perplexed.
  13. Sadly, I don’t think there are any top of the line players want to come here and if they did we don’t have much to trade for. I don’t even think we could get anyone to take on Buxton or Correa.
  14. Kind of kidding but except for this year he would fit right in in BA for the Twins.
  15. The rotation is very good, not sure I would go to awesome but very good for the first time in a long time. If the Twins had Arraez on base would that not produce more runs which this team is truly lacking. He does have to have someone to drive him in. Given the inning his singles, double and triples would drive in runs. The whole Buxton situation IMO sucks! Such high expectations but now they are way to cautious with him (IMO). Correa better step it up and SOON! Not just for one game either Duran is rated #16, but to his credit he hasn't had much to save. Not the spot they hit but it would be nice to have everyday players. In the last 4 games they have had 14 players. Top are a bit more consistent. I guess I am living in the good old day when you had a team. The new baseball world of statistics is not for me
  16. No baseball expert here but I think they leave pitchers at AAA too long and by the time they get here are prone to injury.
  17. Trying not to be negative but going into the season there were obvious holes (at least to me). Letting Arraez go! Yes we got a pretty good pitcher but they pitch maybe 3 times in a 2 week span? I believe Arraez would have helped win many games. No true DH type player Not utilizing Buxton as he should be I don't think anyone saw Correa's horrible year coming No true closer No consistent line-up. I think that the guys would jell and there would be far less errors or dingbat plays. Plus players would gain confidence by being an everyday players My frustration or anger is that we can't "have it all". We should be able to have both a Lopez type pitcher and Arraez, a true DH and good closer.
  18. Are we going to hear soon that Correa has been hurting/injured all season? Hoping Buxton is not headed for the IL. Buxton is 51st in the AL for RBI's Correa only 33rd and 45th for HR's. Is it unreasonable or should we expect them to produce more? Could they let the starters to longer? Seems the starters could be better going through the 7th or at least not worse. Someone also mentioned we don't have a true DH and that is hurting. They may win the Division but will we just have another play-off disappointment? Hard to be positive and I think I need to keep my expectations down.
  19. I agree. What are they saving a ..230 hitter for? If he was batting in the 300’s that would be different. The whole lineup is weak and inconsistent. It’s not that early any more. Correa has been horrible at the plate. The Twins barely have anyone hitting over .250.
  20. MLB has Brent Rooker and Arraez listed as best acquisitions this year. How sad is that.
  21. Last week I mentioned bring up the future, not just a game or 2 but enough time to see what they have. One poster said they are playing for this year. I hope I am dead wrong but don’t see them as playoff quality. They may make it but doesn’t seem likely and if they do and face an AL East team, most likely a one and done year. Why waste another season? Let’s get the future developed this year. Stop the gap filling and get Buxton in CF, if he is that soft let’s just be done with this project. Love him but so disappointing and depressing.
  22. They say the bullpen is “taxed “, so why pull Ryan after 6?
  23. I thought Gray cruising. Is 91 pitches really a reason to pull someone with 9 strikeouts in 5 innings?
