A rare photo of the Twins manager with his uniform number visible in the front:

/ there's a reason it's rare...unique in fact....

I can tell you photoshopped this because you made one arm shorter than the other :)

How can you not like a professional athlete with a single digit vertical leap?

Unless you're a Braves fan, I guess.

Maybe it's just me, but if you cut off the sleeves of Hrbek's Jacket, he becomes Husky Han Solo.

As played by John Candy.

As long as he can play Chewie too.

And without the makeup, well, I'm a fan of both, but Hrbie's looking a little bit too much like the late, great Canadian comic for my taste...

Thanks Nurse Ratched. I could tell I was overdue with taking my meds. I was riding too high. Muy Apreciado for bringing me back to reality.:)

Hehehe ... was waiting for someone to put up the Gant play. Love that! And love the final thumbs up! I am truly full from that smorgasbord!

Sorry for the buzz... err' date=' mood elevation kill.

Someone likens me to a Hollywood person, and it's to arguably the most frightening female villain in the history of movies. Brilliant casting decision, btw.

Well, like Bela Lugosi said in the historical documentary [i']Ed Wood[/i], "there's no such thing as bad publicity!" Be well, my only Official TD friend!

Yeah, I've often felt Gant should've been kicked out of that game, what with that violent leg whip knocking poor Herbie off the bag and all.

Mark Salas. He finished 8th in ROY voting, after posting .300/.332/.458 in 1985. Not the fleetest afoot, I once saw him thrown out at first base after skipping a rocket off the Metrodome turf to the right fielder. Score it a 9-3 putout.

Unsubstantiated rumors have it that Salas never received a World Series ring in 1987 after posting .378/.431/.622 in 51 plate appearances. That year, he was traded to the Yankees for Joe Niekro.

Took me a while to find an image with his number on it:

Man, I can hear Bob Casey's voice from the Met echoing...."Now batting for the Twins...Number 12....CEEEsarrr TOH-varrr!"

Another of my all time favorite Twins, only this time it's pretty easy to explain. I wonder if any player will ever play all nine positions in an MLB game again? With the money they make these days, I strongly doubt it.

Always liked Lexi. He still holds the Twins' record for stolen base percentage (single year) and he became a sure-handed, sometimes acrobatic 2B. Just couldn't hit enough.

I didn't dislike him as a player, but I did dislike that the state of the team caused him to be written into the lineup as DH several times.

Are you saying that in those days of lower salaries, he was reduced to going to Calvin and saying "I got a family to feed, can you give me a little more work in exchange for some overtime pay?"

Better than every middle infielder the Twins have had since.
