Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 On the bright side, after 1 inning Scherzer doesn't look dominant. Could this be an opportunity?I sure hope so!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Carnac: Sisyphus.Ed: Why? He barely knew us.Carnac: (pause) That's it. I'm out.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 C'mon Twins ... the Indians are beating the ChiSox ... do NOT let the tiggers celebrate at Target Field
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 To do what? Lower his ERA? Inning 1:
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Actually ... I had just had a discussion with my sister about her Sisyphusian or Herculean efforts. Show off.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 To do what? Lower his ERA? For the Twins to win the game. Was that not implicit in the post?
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Correia's pitches to the last batter - on Gameday they looked like two of them were barely in the same zip code as the plate. And yet he gets out of the inning. For reasons that perplex me I am starting to enjoy Correia sometimes. I'm guessing the whiskey helps.

That post is out of bounds - as per recent changes to the comment policy all mentions of whisky must include age and brand.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Actually ... I had just had a discussion with my sister about her Sisyphusian or Herculean efforts. So it was fresh on the brain. Otherwise I would never had said such a thing. I thought you'd been talking to Kevin Slowey.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 It follows that a Picture of a Pen is mightier than 1000 Words about a Sword. I am not sure what the equivalence ratio is if instead you have 2000 Words, or only a Picture with the left half cut off or something. I was meeting my wife somewhere... She asked me to bring a photo she needed for something. Typical guy... I forgot... I showed up... She asked where the picture was... I said... "Would you settle for a thousand words"? Turns out they are not equivalent at all.

I do not understand why Hercules got all the ink in the press about his Herculean efforts, when Testicles never get praised for Testiclean anything.
