Scherzer is impressive. He gets two strikes on a batter and there's none of this:

'Well, I'll throw a couple by the dugout & see if they swing' crap!

Goes right after them.

To be fair, with the Twins that's a pretty low risk to take.

I see our batting order showed up as usual for us.

The offense is on FIRE tonight. The no-hitter talk had barely started before they got an infield squib single.

I just got back from dinner, and my first thought was "got anything more recent?"

Not, "where's the metamucil?"?

Just tuning in, 1-0 Tigers, bottom of the 6th?....I thought Correia started, what the hell!

That leadoff triple is actually looking kinda big.

/ as though a one-run lead is surmountable

That was dinner.

Yeah, but we did get a couple of hits, so I'll take partial credit.

Partial Credit. That was the nickname my teachers had for me, up until I dropped out of middle-school to get work as a deputy.

Umpire doesn't run him, for that?

And why should he?

I got beaned in a little league game once the one year I played. Someday I'm going to run into him again, then...

My favorite, and most vivid, 6th grade little league memory... Knocked down, not hit, by faceball from big mean kid while leading off in the first. Grounded the next pitch sharply back to the mound, which it took a very bad hop off of. Hit him where I would have guided the ball to with a radio control. Got a double out of it and he left the game not long after, feigning (or exaggerating) a limp.

So good luck with your delayed cathartic rematch. Dare him throw it over the plate and swing away!

Here's an actual photo of my Wife and I with a drummer that lives down the street.

I didn't realize Gladys Ormphby was of the Grand Forks Ormphbys.

Wow, you look a lot like a former Beatle. Don't recognize the old drummer.

I like your wife's belt buckle.

I think you mixed up the picture.......is that your brother and law back left or the drummers manager?

The only beaning I ever got was from a hit ball ... playing 2nd, inside thigh, hard-hit liner by a guy wearing a t-shirt with the word 'Killer' on the back. Most colorful bruise I ever got ... but my own fault.

edit: oh, and it was softball, not baseball

Next time you used your glove I'm sure.

I would like to congratulate Mr. Correia for a better year than many (all?) of us expected. This year would have been far more dreadful without his 31 starts.

I'm going to miss these in-depth and serious baseball discussions after Sunday.

In-depth and serious? Why wait? I already miss them now!

Ok... That's the last pitch for Correia in 2013.

Its possible that someone will try to make me eat these words... But here goes anyway.

185 innings and a 4.18... I am happy with those numbers and I tip my cap to Kevin.
