I was hoping that the serious thread would be filled with comments from people who don't want to deal with the silliness of this thread. So far, the serious thread seems relatively inactive and this thread has not been as funny as usual.

Quite frankly, neither thread is all that ... um ... well, I'm going to go finish putting together my apple crisp now that I've peeled, cored and sliced the apples.

Well ... you tried. I think maybe, if you want to keep experimenting, put one of those who wants the more 'serious' thread in charge. Let them set it up every game like RB does here, let them guide the talk, let them take responsibility for it. <shrug> I think mostly it's all just a product of what's been said ... a bad team and a bad season.

Really, really tough to get too wound up in this version of the Twins. I'm paying attention when Pinto and Presley hit and pulling hard for Dozier. The pitchers are "meh" at best (poor starters--tired relievers) and almost all hope is gone.

 

I got off the golf course and checked to see how the NL batting race is going, not how the Twins were doing because frankly I really doubted that the Twins had much chance against any Tampa pitcher..
