big dog Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Predictions for 2014: a healthy Oswaldo Arcia absolutely shatters Bobby Darwin's single-season Twins record for strikeouts. Maybe by August 15.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 An insurance run would be nice, and if it does not happen then maybe Olivia needs to go back to heaven. Agreed. Bringing in Carnac the Closer.

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Um, not sure what you are trying to do there, but I definitely don't want to see the video. Just trying to separate the Unix goats from the Windows sheep.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Let's just get through 2013 before these predictions. 2013 is over. This is Spring Training 2014, Target Field Edition. And I'm enjoying it- let the kids play.
James Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Wait. This game is almost over. How am I supposed to procrastinate and not do homework now!?!?!
gil4 Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Just trying to separate the Unix goats from the Windows sheep. Another excuse to use Dilbert - we know how the Unix goats got that way:
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 That insurance run may turn out to be important now.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Whew, nice DP. huh? come again?
James Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 That insurance run may turn out to be important now.Let's hope not.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Wait. This game is almost over. How am I supposed to procrastinate and not do homework now!?!?! Start a thread about Ryan and free agents, and respond to each post. Problem solved.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Damn. It's over. Now I have to clean the kitchen and get to bed.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 YES!!! Thank you Olivia for this much appreciated bestowal of your gloriousness.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 So what's the big deal with this Trout fellow? All I saw was a faceplant into the fence......
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Start a thread about Ryan and free agents, and respond to each post. Problem solved. This is exactly why I get tired of reading the forums now.
James Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Start a thread about Ryan and free agents, and respond to each post. Problem solved. This semester just started last week. I probably shouldn't be procrastinating yet. I can only blame myself for this. If only I hadn't chosen to to try and improve myself by going to grad school.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Wait. This game is almost over. How am I supposed to procrastinate and not do homework now!?!?! Let's talk about payroll, that should cover you through Christmas break.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I had to do a search for the meaning of both of these. Ashbury's got me in trouble with the wife.Fake a seizure. Always works for me.
James Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Let's talk about payroll, that should cover you through Christmas break.I'm not going to start that one. There will be three new threads on that tomorrow... or at least three threads that turn into that.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 This semester just started last week. I probably shouldn't be procrastinating yet. Go with the instinct, well done. Would have posted the advice sooner but needed to go get the 18-pack of Totino's party pizzas that I bought at Costco this morning out of the minivan before they went bad. Not that any of the phantom guests of a party whose primary bait is Totino pizza would notice if they did go bad...http://static.caloriecount.about.com/images/medium/totinos-party-pizza-pepperoni-56825.jpg

If only I hadn't chosen to to try and improve myself by going to grad school. Grad school is a good thing. Enjoy it but get good grades.
James Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Grad school is a good thing. Enjoy it but get good grades. It's a part time MBA program... the hardest part is getting in. They tend to frown upon giving grades lower than a B. It's a big difference from when I started going back to school for a Master in Mechanical Engineering. It only took me a semester to drop out of that program. Waaaay to nerdy for me... which means it must be extremely nerdy.
James Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Grad school is a good thing. Enjoy it but get good grades. It's also harder to enjoy when you also work full time.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 It's a part time MBA program... the hardest part is getting in. But now that you're in, you can put it in cruise control and get just good enough grades to get a part time job with your part time MBA when you graduate. Good luck!
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 It's also harder to enjoy when you also work full time. Yeah, school and work do not go well together in my book.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 It's also harder to enjoy when you also work full time.Yes. Even part time is hard. And while your gifts of intellect and determination make it possible for you to achieve a level of education and achievement that is beyond the reach of almost all people on the planet, even with financial considerations aside, just remember: We'll be here, pulling for you, encouraging you, and offering heartfelt advice from our centuries of collective wisdom. But you better snap the f*% out of the 3 AM nap and send the ambulance if any of us press the LifeAlert button.
