Good for Rocco we did a mistake firing him hope he goes to a place that deserves him.

Well, we can shut this thread down now.  No one's going to want to respond to that.

Though, I see in the news that the Dodgers went from champs to chumps when facing the Brewers this post-season.  Rocco might be the smoking gun there.

An amusing correlation

The main problem for the Twins persists. Falvey and his legacy. The front office has been an utter failure in terms of results. The fact Zoll is here makes my hope for the Twins drop by at least 75%.

I'm hoping this is satire, because I think the vast majority of Twins Territory will disagree. Firing him was the right move. Yes, the results were much the same, but I think the Shelton has a better presence in the locker room and is willing to step up for his players when it comes to meeting the the "Higher Ups" at this point. I felt as if Rocco was a "Yes man" when it came to things.

Rocco played the analytics way too hard. Pinch hitting players in the 3rd-4th inning when a team would throw a opener and then bring in the actual starter or when the opposing team would have a bullpen day. By the end of the 5th-6th we had no one on the bench to help out in the event a game went to extras or we needed a hitter in the late innings. He was also really prone to pulling pitchers way too early in the game (Gray, Ryan, Lopez) just because they were entering their 3rd time thru the lineup and they have been dominating.

I'm gonna stick up on for Rocco, theyres no way any one in their right mind would expect him to do anything with the club he had. He deserves better and how does anyone know what's going on inside the club house except for the false sports media? Theyre are so many things wrong with our Fandom these days but what's not gonna help is blaming higher ups and the coaching staff when we have been and always will be mediocre. And I did not deserve 7 dislikes for wishing him the best. I genuinely wish the best we didn't deserve him, we really don't deserve anything.

Agreed with you on wishing Rocco well. I do too, and hope he catches on as an MLB manager again soon. Also agreed, he was handed a poor roster in 2025 that got worse as the season went on.

while I thought Rocco was on balance a good manager for the Twins, I also feel like it was time to move on from him. I don’t have confidence that Rocco would have had the guts to rearrange his entire position player fielding 2 months in, but Shelton did exactly that and got more out of this cruddy team than Rocco would have. They still weren’t good enough, but marginally better.

good for you, sticking to your guns. Courage will take you further in life than waffling.
