Sure wish Vikes bye week was around week 10 instead of this week.

Fairness would be having every teams bye the same week.  Next NFL League meeting I'm invited to attend I WILL bring this matter up for discussion.

I'd settle for all teams getting their bye within a 3-4 week span, ideally in November.

Got bad Darnold tonight. Happy feet

Yeah. He certainly seems to struggle in big prime time games unless his defense puts the game out of hand and there are few big pressure plays on offense.

Also, is Bo Nix what Sam Darnold would have been if Darnold had been drafted by a competent coach, and is Sam Darnold what Bo Nix would have been if Nix had been drafted by dumpster fire?

You wonder if he won a playoff game with the Vikings, would they have still moved off him. Or 2 games?

No, I'd bet the team would have kept him if he hadn't looked so bad in the national games.

I really thought they were gonna extend him and maybe even trade JJ for a high pick after he looked like he'd put his "I'm seeing ghosts" demons to bed after the Packer game.  Then it looked like they all came flooding back against Detroit for the division title/#1 seed and against the Rams in the playoffs.

That's one hell of a sliding doors moment for the franchise if had looked good - maybe even just competent - in those losses.

I can understand Darnold’s struggles this year. Lost his OC and he’s working with RBs who are “just a guy” talent wise.

I don’t understand what happened to Bo Nix and the Broncos offense. Nix flat out refuses to throw the ball downfield. Their last 10 drives last night was 29 plays for 32 yards. Unwatchable.

Seattle has a great secondary and a good pass rush, so I could understand a dink and dunk offense this game, it's been like that all season. But looking at his numbers, while it's lower this year, he's at the very, very bottom of the league in pushing the ball downfield in all three of his seasons:

Drew Brees never came close to seeing these low of numbers. So is Nix too tentative? Or is Sean Payton keeping the reigns tight on Nix?

I know that the rules of the board require us to answer "yes" to this, but I think that's legitimately the correct answer here

Yes to both. Nix's first read is the check down pass... Looks like his confidence is shot and he can't see plays developing down field. WRs are getting open and he's too afraid to throw it downfield.

Sean Payton also got the most production he could out of Nix. He's a very limited QB for arm talent, size, and athleticism.

Yup. And this stuff is why I'm not mad about the McCarthy pick and why I appreciate the decisiveness about cutting the cord. The Broncos and Falcons (and Commanders?) are now kind of stuck with a QB that's good enough to play in the league, but probably not good enough to be the difference maker in a big game. The Vikings now get to roll the dice again, while those teams will most likely have to spend at least one more year treading water hoping for something that likely won't turn out.

Brutal pass by Darnold could seal it. Bleeping guy had to win a Super Bowl then went back to being average when he lost his run game

Oh no, he had to go and win a Super Bowl? Darnold won a ring in his first year here, which is exactly one more Super Bowl than the Vikings franchise has won in its entire history. I'll take a 3-3 slump over a 60-year championship drought any day. Talk about average all you want, but your team is out here looking like absolute frauds this season. Enjoy the soft schedule while it lasts, because everyone knows you’re coming back down to earth soon.

JJM enters the blowout game in the 4th quarter and immediately throws an INT

I could certainly be wrong, but I never thought JJM's redemption arc would be possible this year. I always assumed he needed a couple years learning how to be a QB instead of an athlete.

I have no idea what the Giants are doing with him. Their RPO package specialized for him is hilarious.

No kidding. He's too injury prone to get hit, and he doesn't know how to avoid getting hit.

Colts lose to the Titans oof. Shane Steichen may want to start updating his resume

I had recently posted that Tennessee was the worst team in the league, by far.....
