Never said they were hurting.  But they pulled the team off the market mainly because they weren't getting the price they thought they should get.  When you consider the Tampa Bay sale, they may have been correct, but I don't know what is or isn't in the books.

That's not an answer to my comment. I said a good GM will want full authority and a good budget. You said we don't know if TP doesn't give full authority. 

What we know is irrelevant to what a good GM will insist upon. Without a firm commitment, a good GM candidate will pass, because they won't want to damage their reputation by following someone else's plan.

MLW/CLE/TBR all operate differently. STL and CHW are going that way, also. The Twins' organization operates more like LAA and COL.

Defend the Pohlads all you want, but their record and zig-zag strategy speak louder than any defense.

No I am a realist, it is about more than money.  Other teams can do it with less money but Falvey couldn't because he didn't do a good of developing players.  And that won't change no matter how much money you want to at the payroll if Zoll is allowed to stay.

Pohlad's bought the Twins for $44M. They'll sell it for almost $2B. That's a bit of a profit

I keep hearing about how the insurance companies are hurting, yet they seem to have endless money for constant ads on just about every channel. Maybe if they cut their ads a little, they could cut their rates?

I'm not actually upset about the trade deadline deals they did.  I liked them.  My only criticism was that they should have been more aggressive in trading Jeffers and Larnach.  But none of that is Tom P's role, nor do I want it to be.  He is supposed to be paying someone that specializes in that to do that job.

Tom P admitted that they went too far in stripping down last year's team, especially the bullpen.  

ownership situation being in flux until December. - This has been an issue for some time with this family while owning the team.  I like Tom over Joe, but it has seemed for quite some time that there is nobody actually looking over the team from the family.  

I would love the team to invest in facilities and proper training staff, both in the major and minor leagues.  We have gone through how many years of players coming up and failure to launch?  With a small to mid-market team like the Twins, they can't afford to miss like they have been missing on their prospects.  That seems to be the difference between the Twins, Tampa, Cleveland, and Milwaukee.

Insurance companies aren't hurting.  State Farm just posted their best year ever and given their policy holders a dividend payout.  The dark secret is that they stripped their local agents of a ton of accrued benefits to pay for it.
