I do wonder with the firing of Deron Johnson if Zoll has been told he will be back.  That kind of firing and the timing seems strange if there are going to be changes, let the new guy make them.

yes...I have MLB TV have the option of listening to the SF broadcasters or radio broadcasters or the Twins duo while watching the game...I am watching and listening to Miller now...but I like the Giants TV broadcasters...

As you stated earlier this is why you need a Dave D. type, they will show Tom P. a plan and they also know how to help sell it to the fans as well because they would have a vision.

It could be hard to get someone better to come here, unless Tom P. guarantees that he'll fund the team and development program to a reasonable budget and otherwise stay out all decision-making. Without that, a GM runs the risk of failing without being able to do what he thinks is right.

IMO, Tom P never actually bought into the team.  He just needed the team to turn a profit so the finances looked better when we come out of CBA negotiations and they can sell the team for the price "they deserve".  My whole point in supporting this idea this season was that he would actually make investments necessary to make the team better (half-assed it) and wouldn't strip it for parts without a direction and make the team unwatchable.  I think Tom P accomplished his mission for the season.  Stay relevant just long enough that they can turn a profit.

We have no way of knowing how much he is involved in day to day decision making if any.  There are only 30 of these jobs, there will be interest in the position if it became open.  It is not all about payroll, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Tampa seem to be able to find candidates.

What investments did you want him to make.  I don't think there was good direction during the offseason because of the ownership situation being in flux until December.  And what would trading for one big contract at the deadline have done.

This offseason will be the time to tell what direction they are going to take.
