This ENTIRE season, all I've been able to think is "what would have happened had they signed literally ONE capable reliever?" Just a colossal failure.

Old friend Mickey Gasper since mid-August .378 avg 8 hr 15 RBI 

He’d be the Twins best hitter. Good to see him doing well!

Of players with 50 PA since he was recalled on 8-17, he has a wRC+ of 300, the best in MLB over that span...and those 8 HR are tied for 2nd...

Really hope the plan is not to platoon Jenkins and this is just to give him a day off.  But if you are going to sit him, you could at least replace him with a major league center fielder.

Yeah, maybe, but one could squint at the offense and see something that wasn't terrible. The same could not, under any circumstances, be said about the bullpen. The Twins had literally ZERO trustworthy, established relievers heading into Opening Day. And it cost them a veritable assload of wins in the first three months of the season.

The Bell Lewis Clemens sequence is trying to play off the success those three had yesterday.

If it's to give him a day off, that is ok, but you can't bring him up and platoon him.  He needs to be in the lineup every day.  It would be nice if a reporter asked this question.

FWIW he was only playing five days a week AAA.

They have had a number of outfielders this year in AAA and needed to get everyone AB's.  So he only sat one day.  I am not sure why he would need a day off after the day off on Thursday.  I suspect they are going to platoon him and really hope I am wrong.
